Percarbs
Firedkm replied to petemoss's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Pete, I have tried alot of precarb cleaners from other sellers on different boards. They all have there favorite "secrete recipe" and work very good. Some are just a straight precarb cleaner and others like the efc38 that beth carrires has other cleaners mixed into it. Out of all the precarbs I have played with I do like the efc-38 the best. This is just my opinion and others will reccommend other brands. Out of all the chems I have tried I am not buying everything from just one supplier. Somethings I feel work better than others and that is where I will purchase them from. I would say you should ask Beth for a sample kit she offers and try them out for yourself and make your own decision. Good Luck! -

Mike, Where I live in NJ and where there is hydrants, They are all the same. So the fire depts. do not have a problem. You are right about the many kinds of hydrants I had my blinders on not thinking about other areas. Dale

Mike, Most hydrants have a 2 1/2 in opening on the small side and a 6 inch on the large. All Hydrants are national standard thread and you can get these couplings from any supply warehouse that sells firefighting equipment. Just do a search to find something close by to you. Dale Sparkling Detail

New Deck Prep
Firedkm replied to Cannon's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Jeff, You should not let the deck "age" of the winter. This is when most decks get damaged! The deck still needs to be cleaned eventhough its new. Beth and Rod have some good products that will work for you. Just contact Beth and she will give all the info you need. After the deck is cleaned then seal it. If you have had good results with Timber seal I would stay with it. Beth has a product called Wood Tux. I saw it over the weekend at the round table she hosted. I have not tried it yet, but I did get some samples from her. The Guy who makes Wood Tux was there and if this does just half of what he says I will be impressed.
