offseason work?
PetersonDecks replied to N.B. DECKS's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
i am a teacher during the school year and our deck season is not as long, the deck season was up quite a bit this year, we were at about 105-110 decks this year running just one crew. John Peterson, Peterson Deck Rest. -
2009 Sealer Poll
PetersonDecks replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I am predominently going with Readyseal again next year, if a customer wants a different look, i will go with TWP. i used it a little this year and liked the results. I have been using a lot of ABR X-100 in the past but too many mold and mildew issues, will still be using cabot on solids and very screwed up decks. any suggestions on TWP and what to expect John, Peterson Deck Restoration -

2nd story decks
PetersonDecks replied to CannonW's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
About 90% of the decks we do are on the 2nd story and I usually use 2-8' Little giants with an aluminum plank in between the 2 ladders which i stand on. I usually can get the ladders very sturdy, only fell off one plank in the last 5 years. John Peterson Peterson Deck Restoration -

Hey guys I just noticed at Sunbrite supply my cost for readyseal went from 99.75 to 109.75, that's a 10% jump. Is that still the cheapest price around? I usually save some $ ordering the by the bulk but still disappointed by the price jump. Looking for thoughts, John, Peterson Deck Restoration

Readyseal $
PetersonDecks replied to PetersonDecks's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I don't have a problem raising my prices 10% to reflect fuel costs and what not but my customers usually have the issue. Just a little disappointed at the increase but understand the situation. john, Peterson Deck Restoration -
Another Craigslist Ad
PetersonDecks replied to Lightning Gene's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I receive about 10% of my quotes via Craiglist, i am not the lowest but i love the free Advertising. Yes, you get some cheap people that get a "handyman" quote but that gives you a chance to state the differences between and professional and a HACK. I post an ad in Craigslist about every week to stay on top of the rest of the people in regards to listing. yes you are going to get those cheap people, but you will also get those people that want it done correctly and professionally. john Peterson, Peterson Deck Restoration -
seal or restore
PetersonDecks replied to Chappy's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
We use Deck Restoration, i think restoration brings credibility to us rather than deck Painters, deck stainers. I wanted to use deck strippers but my wife would not allow it!! John, "Peterson Deck Restoration"
