Anyone who is familiar with carpet cleaning: What all equipment is required to clean carpets and apply stain protectant?

Have a dull metal roof that needs to have the algae cleaned, and luster restored. I have reviewed some other posts with the only fruitful one recommending premier by envirospec. Anyone have any recent experience restoring a dull metal roof wihout having to apply a clear sealer afterwards other than premier?

I've lost a lid off of a 275 gal square caged tank, diameter 11.5 in. Anyone have any clues where to start looking for one of those?
-
Whats a decent price for water totes, caged, square, 270 gallon totes, only used once. I have access to some but not sure what they are worth. I know some people recycle those and barrels for the plastic(not what I had initially planned to do).

Anyone used wet sand blaster kit with pressure washer?
VanDiesel99 posted a question in Having A "Blast" (sand, soda, dry ice, etc.)
I have a 16 foot trailer with some rust on the frame and wheels. I was going to purchase wet sand blast kit(fits the tip of the gun) which draws sand into the spray water. Just curious if I blast this trailer if it is going to flash rust, or if there is a chem I can put in it to keep it from flash rusting? Also what is a good place to find a blaster kit, 5gpm 3000 psi max. I feel like this is too much metal to hand dry. sandblaster, sand blaster Has an industrial and a regular heavy duty. It seems as if the industrial will fan out a little more, which is necessary I think.. Ideas? -
Had some trouble on the last job I did, my worker left the choke on for about 2-3 hours. When I unchoked it, it still sputtered and put out black smoke and would *cough* even more black smoke. I shut it down for the day. Not sure what it could be, just curious of you guys opinions on the matter.

Anyone ever have this problem with Gutter Shock?
VanDiesel99 replied to Camelot's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The cold weather is definitely the reason why the GS is ineffective. If you have hot water you can try x-jetting it on the dry gutters at full heat, scrub and rinse, will probably help out some as long as it is not terribly cold outside. When it is in the forties, most chems will not do much good(I don't clean when it is less than 50 outside). -
No I actually used the measured amounts.

I've burnt up two two stroke gas blowers this year, and I probably only use them once a week tops. Lowe's quality leaf blowers aren't worth a ****.

Got a call from a metal fabricator who has an old coal boiler room he plans on converting to something else. He plans on using block filler on the block walls and epoxy on the floor. There is a layer of soot from the coal on everything. What would be the best cleaner for paint prep? From past experience I am figuring a butyl base like Gutter Shock(RPC), would be best. I thought I would ask and see if there were different suggestions.

That is a very elaborate web page. :)

Silencing the air cooled engine

What can be done about that very undesirable backfire? -
Silencing the air cooled engine
VanDiesel99 replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
That would be nice to have that loudness muffled, I have a 25hp that I would like to do that to. I wonder if you can rig it where it won't backfire. I also wonder if it is hard on the engine in any way. -
Have You Ever Heard This
VanDiesel99 replied to PRESSURE PACKED's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Why are all your words capitalized? I can hardly even read it. -
So do you pull the injector off when you start washing?
-
Doesn't using this undersized downstreamer create backpressure on the pump and pressure or flow drop? I tried the big orifaced downstreamers and the smaller ones and I couldn't get it to draw hardly any chems.
-
Yea I have noticed the chem injector also doesn't work with the 3/8in like Rod said.
-
3/8 will create a pressure drop in high flow machines. Question is whether the psi drop is worth dragging a larger/more expensive hose around to compensate for. Plus using guns with oversized oriface so the gun doesn't restrict the flow. Plus do 3/8 fittings restrict it? If so you will have to find 1/2" QC's. I got a 8gpm Hydrotek and I bought specific nozzles for my surface cleaner to match up with the max pressure for the flow. When I tried it they didn't spin very fast because the flow was being restricted. I simply bought smaller oriface surfacer nozzles and eliminated the problem. The psi/flow drop is not that much.

For you guys who use permanently mounted lights on your rig, what kind of light did you go with? Does it put out enough light? Can it swivel? Is it rigid enough to survive through all the vibration of driving and washing? I had rigged a 1500 watt halogen set of lamps from lowes on the side of my water tank(no pics sorry). The problem was that it shook so much while I was driving that it wore the threads off the screws and basically just fell apart(not long after I installed it). It put out plenty of light and I could swivel the heads different directions and I was happy with it, but it just didn't last. I still have the switch and the power cord hooked up all I need to do is find some good lights to replace these. Suggestions?

Can't get your burger due to closed for cleaning? Call 911
VanDiesel99 posted a question in The Club House
Heres a 911 call from a woman who is sitting in the Burger King drive thru and can't get her order corrected because they are cleaning the inside of the store. At first I thought it was someone mad because they were pressure washing the drive thru(which people do get very mad, at least at the Arby's that I do). Its completely ridiculous and funny. http://www.break.com/index/burger_king_911.html -

Your fast. The two I had were 750 a piece. They were very bright(had a 500watt and a 250 watt bulb in the same unit). GOt a pic of the mounting? -
