haha Thats what it seemed like. 20 dollars enough to get anyone to test their skills? I want to see if all my practice was worth it.

algae on deck
VanDiesel99 replied to LITTLE GUYS's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I'd like to hear more about adding vinegar to bleach to GREATLY increase its effectiveness. I figured when you added an acid to bleach it would neutralize its effectiveness. That website was very convincing but I would like to hear about some practical applications. -

Got Carpal Tunnel?
VanDiesel99 replied to PRESSURE PACKED's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Adding quick connects to all those hoses on the K7 unloader is a great idea especially if you have employees. If your unloader does give you problems for some reason you can simply pop it loose and stick another in its place until you get the first one running smooth again. -
Its the most simple game in existence. Eat the flowers with the snake. Use the arrow keys.

Professor, why did you choose powerwashing? You seem like you would have been a helluva lawyer.
-
What kinda work you specialize in to require all that volume?
-
Check all the electrical reset buttons. Sometimes when you shut down without turning off the burner it will just kick out. Just a button push fix.
-
You know your a power washer if you go through $120 Red Wing boots in 6 months, and one of the safety hazards of your occupation is having your crotch burned off with high conc bleach.

Staining with Coress Wand
VanDiesel99 replied to Celeste's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Hey Rog, What kind of tip were you guys using and what was volume/pressure of your deckster? -
Hey Mike, your private message box is full. Where did you find that roof clean pic for your avatar?

You guys using the 8gpm machines, what size oriface xjet are you using. I used the #9 from my other machine and its pretty hard to control at 3000PSI! The other sizes are #13 and #16. #13 - 1500psi and #16 - 1000 psi. Since I am using a trigger gun with the xjet qc'd straight to it for applying concrete chems I think I am going to go with the #16 so its not as straining on my hands.

Yea popcorn at the movies here is $4.50 for a small, I can't imagine it once all the corn starts getting turned into ethanol. I am going to buy as much as I can right now, then make a fortune by selling it later on ebay.
-
I for one cannot wait until ethanol becomes the fuel of the world. Think how beneficial to this country a cheaper alternative to fossil fuels that can be manufactured from something that can be grown in %80 of the country. We might have to start paying a little bit more for pop corn but hey...

Whats' Your Favorite Mix for Concrete Driveway Cleaning???
VanDiesel99 replied to fireandrain's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Mike is right again(on a roll)Bleach + a detergent is the best combo for mildewed concrete. Its common sense, bleach to kill the green stuff, the detergent to help wash all the dirties away. I think the degreasers might help for some greasy oily stuff, but for the most part its not going to do much. -
BTW, they also sell the replacement for the little plastic piece on the end.

I have to agree with Mike, the orifice size is no different than a normal tip. I would like to hear from the guy from xterior who does frequent these boards, or even a equip distributer.

I have a 4.8gpm 3000 PSI machine that I use my #9's with. When I tried to use that same xjet on my concrete killer machine(8gpm 3000psi) the damn xjet just about kicked the gun out of my hands. I think the oriface can be used on the nozzle charts to figure out the pressure just like the normal tips. I went ahead and used the xjet with high high pressure and it still "drawed"drew"droooo" chemicals at a pretty high ratio.

First deck strip
VanDiesel99 replied to Able Hands's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Furring seems to be inevitable sometimes. I have heard it is because of the chemical, too much pressure, older wood. But I am still not satisfied with just one of those factors. For you guys who use the osborne brush to remove fuzzies, do you try to do all the spindles, floor boards and everything? -

Actually the cheapie's I got have the wraparound and all. But I do agree that the makita is the better tool. -
Variable speed angle grinder
VanDiesel99 replied to Crownroyal's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I bought a couple of chinese cheapie 7" variable polishers. I have used the heck out of both of them with an osborne brush, and haven't had any problem out of either one. We buffed a log home for 3 straight days once and they still operate smooth. -
Does anyone else ever have a problem with leaking guns? Is it because the spring in the ball valve portion of the gun has weakened? Are rebuilds pretty much universal? I know some of the balls are different sizes.

Burner is smoking ALOT!!!!!!
VanDiesel99 replied to JBenson's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I have read that the 12v burners are the only ones that rely heavily on the battery.
