I also have a relatively new 8gpm. I think you won't be able to use the soap tip in conjunction with surfacer because of the way the system is constructed. I also don't think you can have a unloader without kick and still run two seperate guns. If you switch to a flow you will only be able to run one gun at 8gpm. Anyway: What kind of surfacer do you run and do you run it with the full 8 gpm ever?

5 minute stain job
VanDiesel99 replied to Matt in Dallas TX's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
We have been using this type of stain for around 4 years for decks, houses, cedar shakes, and fences and every stick of wood we have stained still looks like brand new. Amazing profits due to lack of labor time involved. I have built my business around these incredible products. -
I've had trouble finding really flexible hose for the xjet. There have been some past discussions and many people have let on that they have hose that is comparable to it but I have yet to see this in reality. The GREEN flexible hose that comes with the xjet is very flexible even in cold weather and the clear hoses I have purchased simply do not measure up. It seems like I contacted xterior or whoever manufactures xjet and couldn't come up with anything.

Interesting Optical Illusion - Can We Believe What We See?

What did you do just low pressure volume application of high concentration SH? Then let it dwell and do a high volume rinse from the parapet? I guess if the concentrations were high enough the mold would just "melt" off. :lgmoneyey

I don't think ryan read the post :). It would be tough to get good pressure/flow out of all the nozzles if you were to span the whole swing stage. The one I talked to a guy about using was 24 feet. You would have a lot of nozzles cutting into your cleaning capacity. It probably wouldn't be very effective cleaning. Unless you have a 60gpm 20000 psi hydro demolition machine. :) I don't know what the highest gpm machine around is. I know 60gpm would be a little tough to hold ;).

Here are some pictures of a ladder rack I fabricated out of about $45 worth of 2in square tubing and some flat bar. It saved me about $150 dollars and fits just how I want it. It took me about 2.5 hours. I am going to have this entire trailer coated with rhino liner. Any suggestions? I will also place a bench vise on the front of the trailer by the tongue.

I took the trailer to get it coated with Rhino today. First price(includes deck flooring, ladder racks all metal including under fender) = $650... yea right. I acted insulted until he came down to $550. Then I traded some pressure washing services to get him down to $400. So he will be coating the whole thing, and I will be pressure cleaning his shop floor(not the area where they apply the liner! heh). Will take some pics when I get it done. Right now I have the skid unit suspended from a couple of i-beams in a storage unit. I think I am going to place a piece of cardboard or paneling on the bottom and create a pattern for the bolt holes. That way it will be easier to drill the holes and place the unit. My question, is how do you guys normally mount your machines? My other unit is mounted directly to the wood on the trailer. I would rather have it lifted somewhat so I can work on it easier. I am thinking maybe just some treated 2x4's coated with something in between the skid and the trailer floor. -

I can't weld either, I just used bolts and lock washers. When I finished I scarred up the ends of the bolt/nut so it wouldn't come loose no matter what. I would rather have welded it but I have never done any welding and I am too cheap to pay someone else to do it. :) -

I remember in the recent past someone posting about waterproof covers for skids that have a drawstring along the bottom. Can someone lead me to that thread?

I have a telescoping fiberglass pole for scrubbing gutters. I think I have the same problem you have, when I use it for a while the grip of the threads breaks loose and the brush starts to flop around loose. It sucks to have to adjust it once you have gutter shock all over it and you don't have any gloves on.

Recently did a small deck with SW Deckscapes Waterbased. I was finishing as it began to turn dark and didn't apply enough stain in several areas on the floor. Just wondering what an easy fix to this would be. I am afraid now that the stain has dried it will not accept a second coat. If anyone knows of a way to touchup or darken the floor boards I would appreciate it. Its coated fairly well, just no enough in several areas. I misted it with water and it beaded up all over but the homeowner isn't happy with the coloring. Thanks

Bad coverage

I would try brushing the butyl(gutter shock, etc.) cleaner on while the patio cover is DRY, let it sit for about thirty seconds, then brush just a little more and see how it turns out. Keep that hose handy to rinse it off because you don't want the cleaner to dwell too long. I just did about an entire neighborhood worth of gutters and windows that had black staining on them. They had tried everything they said. Well I cleaned up all week by using a little gutter shock and some elbow grease.

Looking to modify my engine exhaust so that it will go straight up instead of out the side(16hp Vanguard). I have seen some pics of this type of setup in the past but was curious what type of piping and fittings/methods were used to fasten to the muffler. Any help is appreciated!

Sweet, do you have pics or a link? It sounds like it may do it. That is the specific reason I want to modify the current exhaust. Thanks Russ -
DI, is anyone using this?
VanDiesel99 replied to First Impressions's topic in Window & Gutter Cleaning
The winspray system looked interesting. I was considering purchasing this unit and simply spraying soap on windows, scrubbing, then rinsing with the Di water. That way I can do windows as an addon to the commercial establishment with which I have maintenance contracts. This may be accomplished cheaper with a holding tank, DI tanks, and a shurflo pumps as well. So does anybody actually use this system? -
How many of you guys wear respirators/masks when doing a normal housewash. I seem to be developing something like ingrown hairs right on the inside of my nose usually a day or two after spraying housewash with sodium hypo. Has anyone else experienced this? I will be wearing a respirator from now on because they are painful.
