Registering Name With State/Licensing
JustMe replied to kmcliffo's question in Residential Pressure Washing
In Iowa there is no license to be had nor is there anything to register in my county. On the issue of sales tax, you only need to collect on commercial clients unless they are anything to do with construction of new or existing property, then you don't have to charge them either. Works out nice for me. :D -
Should I mix bleach in my house wash?
JustMe replied to CannonW's question in Residential Pressure Washing
f13 is 6136 renamed. 30/40-1 is a good starting point for house wash. -
Anyone use something they feel is good in the way of a good wax? do you think it helps with hard water when mixed with a rinse aid? If anyone uses rinse aid how much do you normally use when downstreaming.
-
Do you think the rinse aid did a decent job of keeping the windows from spotting, if so how much should a person use? Does it kill the soap like I have heard some waxes do?

Should I mix bleach in my house wash?
JustMe replied to CannonW's question in Residential Pressure Washing
If for any reason you do mix the bleach with 6136 do not do it in a sealed container unless you want a big boom, make sure whatever you have it in is well ventilated. The bleach and 6136 will cancel each other out in about 2 hours too, when your done washing get rid of whatever mix you have left before you head down the road. Ask Rfitz about it, he had a can explode. -

Hey Rob, just curious if you are including the sealer at that price or keeping that a seperate cost. -
Quality Pump Sprayers
JustMe replied to CLASSICPW's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Bomgaars seels a line of chapin sprayers with viton seals if you have one near you, I think tractor supply does as well. -
Is there different qualities of Shurflo's? I have seen some here at bomgaars for around $65.00 seems to cheap or are they fairly cheap?

I thought for some reason 1oz=1/4 cup but I may be way wrong, been a long time.

Does anyone make their own Sodium Percarb wood cleaner that may have a good mix to use that they would not mind sharing, I use it for other stuff now but thought I would see if anyone else is mixing their own cleaner.

Sodium Percarb
JustMe replied to JustMe's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I would like to know what the best practice are if a person needed to wash wood with bleach, any suggested ratios as to clean but not cause damage. I have nothing against bleach when applied right, used it plenty of times.. Go ahead and toss out your feelings, it would better be available than someone guessing and earning a horror story :) -

I would prefer to stick with SP if anyone has perfected a good mix. -
Sodium Percarb

3-4 oz per gal for general or double for heavy stuff. Do you think bleach cleans as well for wood, how heavy of a mix for the bleach? Never used bleach for wood, but I have for other cleaning. I have used Sodium percarb for vinyl and wood but never mixed with anything else but water, do you feel it works better mixed with other chems. -
If you know any real estate agents they can give you a list of the new construction contacts..
-
Have any of you guys ever damaged vegitation from your chems or something you did? how did it happen and what lesson did you learn from it so it never happened the next time. Thought this might make a good thread for the archives.

I remember helping a lawnservice once and kicked over a gas can in someones front yard, that was nice... Never ever put gas cans on the grass, ones that can spill at least.
-
I understand that this is the main ing. in bleach and chlorine, but how many of you guys just buy straight SH from a chemical or sanitizing place and how much are you paying? Oops spelled that wrong in the title.
-
With the winter season here we can't due to the shelf life, I wonder if walmart carrys the liquid pool shock when spring hits, anyone know? Most people around here use the non liquid stuff.
-
Sure am so you just be patient :D My plan all along has been to get started at the end of March and should still be right on track so bare with me, I really want to thank you guys for putting up with me, I am an obsesive person about knowing all I can about stuff including safety, years back I had a bad incident with acid when I ran a fleet wash and ever since then I don't mess around.. Paul, thanks for that info, I meant to put hypochlorite in the first one but spelled it wrong, I can't seem to find a pool shock/chlorine dealer around me that still deals in liquids and shipping would kill me so I was pursuing other options.. I might have one more lead for chlorine though so I am going to check that first.. Sounds like the pricing is around 3.50 a gal though. Again thanks guys for putting up with all my questions. :D
-
I know I asked this before, but have you guys ever seen water filters for reducing spots that can be filled with softner salt, someone told me they work well but I have only found one person who has used one.
-
For some reason I thought someone said that we should not be under janitorial, not sure why though. Anyone know?

I just bought this book myself.. Waiting for it to arrive.
