Hey Philip, I had no idea about Pam and Cujo, I will call him soon and offer anything I can to help him in his time of need. I too call Cujo a mentor, although I'm not a member of the PWNA, he was one of the first people I met locally and we went on to work together on a big job 2 years ago. I hope that he and pam can recover quickly. Thanks for posting this thread. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

These people aren't from the US, they are from Taipei, Taiwan. That's why they are trying these scams, they aren't even from the US! Just remember, an email from someone can be from anyone they want it to be from. Always look at the link they are trying to send you to, regardless of the logos or email addresses they 'appear' to be from. Sorry Ken and Dan, I meant Pressure Packed. John

I agree with Jeff on this one, as I'm in Atlanta too. There's plenty of work here, no reason to kick someone when they are down. Aren't we all here to help each out anyways? And Pressure Pro's, to say that you know Jeff called those numbers is a little ridiculous. Unless you've met him, that's quite a claim to make. I personally know Jeff very well and he's quite a good guy. Besides, what's wrong with this guy trying to sell his business for a higher price? If he can get it, more power to him. I don't know him, but I think it's a little unfair that we're slamming the guy and none of us even know him. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

I've seen this company's trucks on the road a lot last year and the year before, but haven't seen them once this year. I guess what always got my attention were the unique looking rigs. At first I thought it was some kinda asphalt business, but then the next time I saw them, I saw the van with the words 'pressure washing' on the side. What I dislike about the BigGuy

I'll try and take one and post it here soon for you. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA -
I've had only 1 person ask me for this type of washing and I turned it down, it makes them look bad as well as my company. The homeowner also wanted to tell me what he was going to pay for the wash that he wanted. I would tend to doubt that only part of the home is dirty. Maybe the dirtiest part exist on only 1 or 2 sides, but I'd be willing to bet the entire home needs to be washed, especially if it's never been washed before. Hey Lynn, I got your message on my machine the other day, but I just haven't had a free second since Thursday. I'll do my best to give you a call tonight. I apologize for the delay. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

Btw, Michael, I thought I'd add in that RPC has a foamer as well that you could use. I use the same mixture as you mentioned above, however I use RPC foamer instead of dawn. Just thought I'd let you know in case you weren't aware. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

You might get your chance! I believe my BG has a 4 nozzle bar, but 2 of the nozzles were plugged when I bough the unit. The guy I bought my equipment from plugged the 2 nozzles from the start, he told me it would work more effectively and I have a 5.5. You bring the nozzles, see ya Saturday :). Lyn, I'd recommend riding along with one of the guys here in Atlanta. I'm a part timer myself, but you've got myself (Fayette), Philip Dolittle (Fayette) , Cujo Cooley (Covington) and I'm sure several others. You're more than welcome to come with me for a day on the weekend or I'm sure Philip or Cujo would have you along on the weekday. By riding along at least you will see what equipment we use and then be able to make some judgements before you spend the money. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA 678-817-0868

Don't feel bad, when I purchased my pressure washing equipment locally more than 2 years ago, I was given the same thing. They gave me a container, which I'm pretty sure contained sodium hydroxide and it was under a name they created for their 'own' product. I never did use it, and thankfully I met Steven Rowlett over at TCN and started using his housewash mixture. I've never looked back since then. I'd say put that stuff on the shelf, and take everyone's advice here. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

Hello all, Most of you know me from elsewhere, as I haven't posted much on here, but for those that don't, I've been pressure washing part time for 2.5 years, residential and commerical. My question is this, whenever I bid a residential job, I'm often asked about cleaning the deck. I don't currently have the knowledge to do a proper deck cleaning, so I usually try and educate the homeowner from what I do know and tell them that applying heavy pressure to a deck isn't the proper way to clean it and then I go on to let them know there is a right way, but I don't offer that type of cleaning. If you were a part timer like myself, would you try and learn the proper way to do decks and add that as a service or would you try and sub the work out to someone else or what? I'd just like to get some feedback on this if possible. Thanks, John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

Plainpainter, I'm not looking to leave money out there untouched, but at the same time, I know there's a correct way and an incorrect way to do things. I'd prefer to learn the correct method, rather than tearing something up that someone has paid good money for. I appreciate the reply. John

Guys, thank you for all the replies, I'll work on it. Seymore and Ken, thank you for taking the time to write all that out, gives me a lot more to go on. Phil, I'll be in touch with you as well. Thank you, John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

I say the M5 reaches further than the original. I had a home the other day that was close to 3 stories and I pulled out the original thinking it would go farther and it did not. I say if you have to get 1, get the m5, it will be worth the money. John Werling Superior Pressure Washing Fayetteville, GA

Hurricane cleanup advice wanted!!!!!
JohnW replied to Adrian's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Hey Adrian, I'm headed down this weekend to do some cleanup on my grandmother's home in New Orleans East(minus the pressure washer). I wish I could join you to do some pressure cleaning down there, but I have a full time job still, so that won't work. I'll send you a link to some photos when I get back. I've been planning my trip for 3 weeks now, so I"ll let you know exactly how bad some parts still are. We are going to be staying in Bush, LA, which is north of Lake Ponchatrain and then commuting back and forth to N.O. East. I'll be back on Monday. John W. Superior Pressure Washing Atlanta, GA -
Hi Daryl, That's quite a big church, what's the total square footage on that building? John W. Superior Pressure Washing Atlanta, GA

Hey Adrian, Thought I might chime in with Jeff and Degrafreed, I too am in Atlanta, Fayetteville to be exact. I've been part time since 2003. I have a decent full time job, but quite honestly all of my work comes from just talking to people. I'd say maybe 2 jobs have come from people seeing my sign on my truck, out somewhere. Most of my jobs are north of Atlanta and probably half in Cobb. I'd recommend in addition to advertising, start talking to people. I've struck up conversations with people and you come to find out that they either know someone or they, themselves need the work done, but have just not thought about it. When you stop at a gas station or a fast food establishment, if you see the manager, ask them who does their property cleaning. You'd be surprised what kind of response you get. Anyways, nonetheless, if I can ever be of help to you, drop me a line. Good luck! John W. Superior Pressure Washing Atlanta, GA

I use the foamer from Steve too, works great and I'm still on my first gallon as well, for about a year now. John W.

Degraffreed, Check your private messages, I sent you one the other day, but I don't think you realized it. Thanks, John W. Superior Pressure Washing Atlanta, GA

I have a 5gpm pump and have been using the xjet for the last 7 months. I carry a 15 gallon container around on a dolly. That 15 gallons container will last me just enough for the entire home. This is usually good enough for a 1500 - 2500 sq. ft. home, however I've made it work for a 2800 sq. ft. home that wasn't very dirty. As for a 5 gallon bucket with a 5gpm pump, I don't see it happening, you will need a bigger bucket in my opinion. I also use the xjet w/o any proportioner tips. John W.
