I would never buy a Ford. Owned a 1996 and its was junk from day 1. We buy only Dodge now. Had some rear problems with the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 but other than that, no problems. They are hard on gas. We have a 2003 Dodge 2500 and get between 12-13 mpg. What happened to those days when trucks got 17 ? I dont have a clue.

Too Much. If you notice only the second application is said to prevent. The first is to clean and the second to prevent. Awful expensive. I cant imagine cleaning a roof twice for the same monies or even the siding of a house twice for the same. Just my 2 cents.

Deck Restoration Estimate (Volume)
One Call Power Wash posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I have been awarded a Parks & Recreation job that contains 33792 sq ft. of Deck Restoration to include stain/seal. I know what I got it for and just wondering what you all might have bid per sq ft. Specifics: Wood is in great shape, Very little popups, I will be using either Olympic or Wolman F&P. They have not decided on color yet but they have those choices. Semi Transparent. -
Deck Restoration Estimate (Volume)
One Call Power Wash replied to One Call Power Wash's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Okay, times up. We won the bid @ $.73 per square foot. According to how we computate our profits vs. cost, we would have not bid below $.67. Sorry, due to competitors, we can not reveal how we computate our profit vs. cost scenarios, besides there are several ways to do this based upon what you are bidding on. For you guys/girls that polled below this, it would be interesting to see how you came up with the amount. Again, I will understand if you do not place on this board, but it would be interesting. Thanks to all that responded to the poll. -
sprayer recommendations for deck work
One Call Power Wash replied to bellwayne's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
We use chapin pump up sprayers for most semi-transparent and we use spraytech sprayers for anything heavy like solid colors. Airless & pump ups. Make sure when you buy an airless that there is an adjustment of the pressure. Some do not come with this and believe me, it is needed. -

Deck Restoration Estimate (Volume)

I agree with the reedster. My property taxes went up last year probably due to this reason. We are already as American's taxed way too much. Just think, the Government just authorized 85 billion for the reconstruction efforts of Iraq. I ask this, What about our schools, our homeless, our infrastructure, our kids future etc... So, do we join the bandwagon and charge the Government $85.00 for replacing a board screw/nail ? I VOTE NO. rfitz, I know you were just talking, I have said the same thing a time or two but we both realize what is the right and wrong way to do things. -
Now that is neat. Never seen anything like that before

And yes, I will let everyone know what I got it for. Only after the poll. By the way, I am not proud of what I got it for but doing work for the county is hard to get. (Graffiti Removal, Senior Centers etc.... We have done allot of work for the county and is nice to put down as a reference which has allowed us to get into Federal Work. -

Major water damage in the making. He seems to be a few cards short in his deck. If he is willing to pay and not hold you liable, then go for it. Please dont forget the camera, this is most interesting. -
 How ironic is this??!! They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas stamp, but don't dream of posting the ten commandments on federal property? REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of PanAm Flight 103! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa! REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE! REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001! REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks! Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class holiday postage stamp. REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors. REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic AMERICAN you know.

I see it different than you do Paul. Do you know of one Muslim that gives a shi... about America ? If you do, I guarantee, he/she is a business owner in America that does not give a damn about this country. Have you read the Koran ? If so, you would not have given the perspective that you did above. We Americans are infidels to all of the Muslim religion. Stop letting the media control the way you think and think for yourself. -
Warranties
One Call Power Wash replied to Firedkm's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
By the way, we use Sikken, Wolman and Olympic products. Most customers choose olympic due to the cost savings. Needless to say, I have only had to go back on one deck job and I was using a solid color stain/Oil. I wont say which brand but it was the only time I have ever had a problem and it was a real problem. -
Warranties
One Call Power Wash replied to Firedkm's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
We used to offer a 3 year warranty. But now it is down to 2 years due to staying in line with the stain manufacture we use. We guarantee against graying and water retention for that two year periord starting on the first day work began. There are no other exceptions. Just graying and water retention. -
Company website using others pictures
One Call Power Wash replied to John T's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Give me a break. If you want to protect your so called photos of work that you claim you have done then go through the motions of copyrighting. This very simple. I am amazed that I seeing professionals that say they care about each other and care about the industry to be bent out of shape over photos. I can understand if it dealt with actual logos or namesake but this is ridiculous and you all know it. I could care less if any of you go to my web site and use my photos. Most web sites just claim before and after photos. Some that want to take all the credit claim that the photos are of their work. This is ridiculous. -
Faith vs. Fact (Creation vs. Evolution)
One Call Power Wash replied to John T's question in The Club House
Squirtgun, I am so sorry that you lost your first born. Some would say that this might have been a test of your faith. I believe God does work in mysterious ways and he has a plan for all of us in some fashion shape or form. Believe in your heart that your daughter is looking down on you and how proud she is of you. I am happy that you found your answer. I have also experienced this warm feeling that you spoke of. I wont go into detail of why I asked for a sign but believe me, he gave me that sign. I am not a church goer, nor do I spread the word of the gospel. I believe in my own heart and he has answered my prayers so many times before. I resort back to my first post on this subject where I say for everyone to take a look around. Look at the colors, look at the love ones, look at the mountains, look at everything around you including the smallest of things and you will find your way. Squirtgun, I respect you and your openness and I thank you for sharing this tragic but eye opening read. -
We have had two customers in going on 8 years that have refused to pay. Thankfully we have learned by our mistakes by having them sign the proposal accepting responsibility after completion of job. Needless to say, the two customers refused to pay for no other reason than they had planned this all along in my view. When these two happend it was just me and a helper. Since I did not have anything signed by customer agreeing to the services they almost got away with it. I found out through this process that we could file a lien against their property. Check the county that the customer resides in. Both of these customers were in Anne Arundel for all you Marylanders. Needless to say, one customer tried to sell his house and had to pay me off prior to selling. HA HA. The other still has the lien and probably does not realize it. They have not tried to sell. FYI

Insurance Cancelled
One Call Power Wash replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Documents, Forms & Proofs
There is a reason for all of this. #1 State,Federal and Local agencys getting ready to come down on all the pressure washing companies ( Source: Steny Hoyer, Maryland Represenative, Clean Water Act) # 2 Several Insurance claims hit Nationwide Insurance (2003) for Deck Replacement, siding replacement, roof replacement etc.... # 3 Thompson's and Behr Lawsuits that hit the market in 2002 & 2003. These are the reasons. Believe it on State, Federal and Local. Steny is a friend of the family. Dont ask me what to do, because I do not have a clue. Looks like we may all have to go insuranceless for a couple of years. Although I have not received notice from State Farm as of yet. Maybe due to being with them since 1996 ? -
Article Concerning Reclaiming
One Call Power Wash replied to John T's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I will tell you this. I believe in reclaiming when neccessary. And that depends on what chemicals you are pushing through. We probable reclaim about 25% of the time. This guy seems to be only in it for himself. Only after reading the article did I make this assumption. I would not want to be in his shoes. He is lucky to have the 3 million in insurance, I think he will probable need it. -
Faith vs. Fact (Creation vs. Evolution)
One Call Power Wash replied to John T's question in The Club House
Dont you all know, not to bring religion or politics into business. But....since we are on this subject. You both should sit down and read the bible before you react to religion vs. creation. Both sides actually have their points. Some would say that the bible was written by humans, so it is just fiction and those that wrote the bible are only giving their opinion, this is true. Lets all understand that BC means before Christ. The bible also says that God created earth in 7 days in which he did. Is it so that maybe, just maybe, God put Dinosaurs on this earth first to make sure that it would be habitable. How many pictures did you see when you were a child where Cave Men were fighting off Dinosaurs ? I just say this, think about it. Look above you on a clear evening and look at the stars. Look above you on a clear evening and look at the moon. Take a ride away from all the hustle and bustle and head to the country, maybe the mountains. Take a look around. I dont think a single cell created all this beauty. God is there and he watches over all of us. It is his will in which our lives will follow. I have questioned him in the past and still on occassion question some of the things in this world that just dont seem right, but remember, he has a plan for all of us. Just believe and have faith and you will find the truth in the end. It does not cost anything to live right and live by faith. Just my 4 cents.
