I have jumped into a conversation about water recovery under another post but can not seem to find it. I was talking about building a vacuboom type machine and brought up the use of a wet/dry vac from lowes or home depot that has an automatic pump out system, damming the water up with nylon sand bags and then suking the water up with the machine. Someone informed me that it would not be strong enough. How about getting some socks and laying them down infront of burlap sand bags. Would the socks not absorb much of the grease/oil and then the rest would absorb into the sandbags. I realize this would make the bags very heavy and there would still be a little water left over. Could this be pulled off? Without a vac I realize as I said there would be a little water left over (and probably minimal grease and oil). Grease and oil run into the storm drians every time it rains and rain picks it up. Furthermore, with a wet / dry vac I could get up even more. I am trying to figure this out early incase I have to have one I will not have to figure it out as I go. Possibly learn from your mistakes (or successes).

and what kind of price are we talking about for this unit¿

I am working on an account that will require water recovery and instead of spending $2500 for a vacu-boom I have opted to build one. Lowes or home Depot sells wet dry vacs that have an automatic pump out system. Why not just buy some nylon sand bags and dam up the water and then suck it up with that and have it pump into another tank. It gets the water up and does not cost as much. Or if need more force, buy a sump pump.

Location: Alabama (where else) A cop pulls a car over for speeding. The officer approaches the car with caution. Realizing it was a female he did not feel threatened. He asked for license and registration. She replied with "What in the heck is that?" Confused the officer asked if she knew her tag had been stolen off the car. To this she asked "What's a tag?" Dumbfounded the officer returned to his car to radio into the office. "You would not believe this" the officer said "I have a girl here that does not know what a license, registration or a tag is." The officer who answered his call said "said go back to the car window and pull it out." The officer screamed "I cant do that, I'll lose my job!!" The officer on the other end informed him that he would not lose his job and that he would cover for him. So the officer returned to the car window and pulled it out. The girl said "oh great another breathilizer."

I attend church with someone who works at a Trailer rental place and we got to talking today about their washing techniques (or the ones of the company that washes for them). He informed me that one person comes out there and washes by himself. He never touches the trailer with a brush and he is in there and out of there quick. This particular company has approx. 30 pcs. washed two times a month. The thing is, they are not the same pcs. One single pc may go months without getting washed, yet still one person and no brushes. I will call then tomorrow and see if I can find out what type of God send chemicals they are but in the mean time, does anyone possibly know what they are. I have catalogs from many different companies that all claim that their products remove all of the black smoke from trailers and no brushing is involved. Not only the trailer is cleaned, but the rails are spotless from the way he was talking. Please get back with me if you have or know of chemicals that really do this. Please dont give the run around that they do all this if they don't, all of the catalogs seem to do this already. Not only am I looking for chemicals for the trailers, but chemicals for the tractors as well (I would assume they would be the same). Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
