Started part-time in 2001, at that time I had owned a specialty retail store for 10 years and was growing tired of it. Went full-time in 2002 and sold my retail business. Currently have two full time employees and will have to add at least one more next year. This is absolutely a wonderful business and I believe it has a huge growth potential in the future. I agree, Buy all the trailer you can afford. You will grow out of a small trailer immediately. Also the water tank also enables you to bypass water through your pump (given the right unloader and plumbing) into the top of the tank continuously running cool water through your pump, that alone makes having a water tank worthwhile. I'm only about 30 miles from you, if you need any help or would like to see our setup please let me know. Mark Crump Be Clean

Dominion Chemical in Petersburg,Va used to let you fill 55 gal drums (you supply your own drum) for under $2\gal or Pressure Works on Roseneath Rd. in Richmond,VA will sell a 55 gal drum for $110 and offers free delivery for $300 or more. Hope that helps . Mark

Paul, I use 1 gallon of a diluted version of Brown Derby Truckwash, 2-2/12 gallons on 12% Bleach and the rest water in a 5 gallon bucket. I draw this through my chem injector and it works great. Thanks

Just a thought. I have been in the business, "of business", for quite a few years and.. don't just relocate your business. SELL IT! As I have been reading the posts on this bb for awhile I assume you have a good (contractually obligated) customer base. Very appealing to a businessperson looking to break in. Also, depending on your finances(and sanity) you may consider financing 1\3 to 1\2 of the sale amount at twice the prevailing rate for 5 years giving yourself an (almost) guaranteed income while starting anew. Of course, all cash is good too. Good Luck, wherever you land

Just want to interject for a second and say, pay attention to the ph of the soap/bleach combo on your housewash if your going to premix. The best combo's (I have used) will neutralize each other within a few hours rendering the mixture harmless and ineffective. Thanks

I'm a newbie to these boards, but, not to Pressure Washing so hopefully I don't screw anything up in this post. Anyway, here in VA we are required to have a contractors license to enter into any agreement to perform services over $1000 (although most pressure washing companies in my area do not have one). There is no specific classification for our industry here so my license classification is under Home Improvement although it covers me for contracting with businesses as well. I do know of a case where a local pressure washing company performed a service in excess of $2000 and the customer refused to pay. The company took the customer to court and lost because they did not have a state contractors license and therfore could not legally enter into the agreement. Well that wasn't to painful so maybe I'll put my 2 cents in another time. thanks ;)
