Cedar Deck Cleaner Advice in DIY'ers - Ask The Pro's Posted April 28, 2008 · Report reply I live in the Chicago area, and have a 4-year old Cedar Deck. First, I used a Behr product on it which peeled after 9 months. Hired someone to sand, strip deck and applied Cabot ATO which looked great, but faded after 18 months, as expected. Re-applied Cabot ATO and it is fading again after 18 months. I am looking for something which will last longer than Cabot ATO. Based on reading some information from pros on the internet, I have decided on sealing the deck with Rymar Xtreme Weather which is manufactured in Wisconsin, and available locally. (Other recommendations are welcome) I need advice on a cleaner and neutralizer that I can use prior to applying Rymar. I have read that Restore-A-Deck is good, and have attempted to contact them without success. Also, I prefer to purchase products locally provided the products are high quality and will work for my application. I have access to Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, as well as other suppliers in the Chicago area. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
