Supply Hose Reel Restrictive?
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I was going to do that this week along with timing my downstream injectors to see how much they really pull (3 different downstream injectors) on both machines. That would show me how much the hose reel is restricting if at all. Thanks. -
Supply Hose Reel Restrictive?
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I am looking at running 200' to 250' of 3/4" supply hose to the tank so I would like to keep the restrictions to a minimum but preferably none. Thanks. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas -
I have only seen the AF a couple times down here, hope it does not become common. That stuff is a pita to clean! It seemed like as I would clean on area, I would go back and there is more there so I cleaned and would go back to an area and there was more. I stopped and looked to see if I could see that stuff shooting up from the mulch but could not. I finally finished and did not look back. hahaha _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas

What kind of residential pressure washing are you doing?
Christopher replied to Beth n Rod's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I hate to work where they have the koi. It gets expensive when those fish die and they are very sensitive to the chems. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas -
Poll: What type of pressure washing rig do you use?
Christopher replied to mdspowerwashing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have everything on an open trailer but want to get a flatbed truck. Too often a helper does not have experience driving while pulling a trailer and cannot back up the trailer or turn too good. When I go to flatbed truck, if they have a license, they can drive it. Some of the houses I go and clean are in cul-de-sac's and a lot of times have very small ends and sharp turns to get out or turn around. Another good reason for a flatbed truck. I am thinking of 12' or 14' bed so I can move everything off the trailer and put it on the truck. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas -

Christopher replied to Christopher's question in The Club House
Thanks. I always forget to bring the camera along. I need to get a new one and then just keep the old one in the truck so it is ready all the time. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas -
That is a very good thing to do. It feels good to give back when you can. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas

what lances do you like why.
Christopher replied to chris francis's question in Residential Pressure Washing
A friend of mine was teaching me in the beginning and he used the dual-lance and I still use them but as you evolve, you will change what you use, how you do things, change around your trailer, etc... I used to use the dual-lance for house washing and downstreaming but now it is used mostly for rinsing. I can do so much with just the Ball Valve that Bob at PressureTek sells, he told me about it and even told me that if it did not dramatically change how I do things he would give me my money back. It made a huge change to say the least. Each hose reel has a ball valve on the end of the hose and I have a couple spares. I really like the dual lance but I do not use it to apply chems because they do start leaking soon when downstreaming and I hate having water dripping down my arm or soaking me after a while. I do have the extendawands, all lengths of Stainless Steel and Aluminum and Galvanized Steel wands, guns, etc _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas -
There have been a few guys in the business for over 20-25 years now. Once you start reading the posts, check their signatures and visit their websites and they have that info there but some put it at the bottom of their posts. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas

The best machine manufacter
Christopher replied to ApexPCLLC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have a Hotsy unit and Pressure Pro and they have been great. I would buy them again. I think it all comes down to personal preference and budget. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell 361-853-2513 Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas Cleaning Concrete Driveways Sidewalks and Walkways in Corpus Christi Texas -

Modding a hose reel.
Christopher replied to Bennyhonda's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Russ, not trying to hijack the thread but I bought a rig last year and it has an electric reel with 1/2" hose for roof washing. It is a Hannay Hose Reel but it is the cage design, not the U'shape like on the Bandit and has the guide rollers on both sides and top and bottom. Do you think that this can be used for high pressure by just changing out the swivel or do you think this class of swivel is ready? Later I will look up the Maker and model. Here is a picture. Thanks. -

Modding a hose reel.
Christopher replied to Bennyhonda's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Don't worry about the cleaning units (cu's) as nobody really talks about that stuff (mostly in the selling of the units and marketing). Most concrete you will find will not take more than 3000psi to clean and if you have contractors like in my area, you are lowering your pressure to compensate for the low quality concrete so you don't blast it all away or shave the cream off the top. Your unloader might be the reason for the low pressure or it could be the seals/packings need to be replaced. Call Russ and talk to him about that. Sounds like that swivel can be changed out to be a pressure hose reel if you buy the retro-kit he sells. One thing to think about is if you ever run into low-pressure or low-flow water supply issues? If so, you might think about using that hose reel for the supply because sometimes when you get a hose reel from a shop, they use the 3/8" for everything so that is restricting your flow some and might make a big difference in how you operate. -
No matter what the chems or strength, you should always use the correct PPE because you just never know and accidents do happen. I do not use the Oxalic here much because I have not had good luck with it on both rust and fertilizer stains. When I do try it out, I use the PPE to be safe because it is both an acid and a poison. Always be safe. _________________ Superior Power Washing Chris Chappell Exterior House Cleaning in Corpus Christi Texas

Ball valve for high pressure and flow
Christopher replied to Wayne G.'s topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I use the brass swivel with plug/coupler and I put a plug on the end of the hose. On the Ball valve, I put a coupler on the inlet and plug on the outlet. This way I can attach the swivel to the end of the hose and the ball valve to the swivel. On my guns and surface cleaners I have a coupler so I can attach the ball valve to them so I do not have to shut down the engine to switch from gun to surface cleaner. Using the ball valve like a gun, it will spray from a stream to a slight fan when you open/close the ball valve. I usually do house washes with just the ball valve. Hope this makes sense. -

Ball valve for high pressure and flow
Christopher replied to Wayne G.'s topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
That is the same ball valve I use too. I mostly use just the ball valve for house washes too. I have been doing them that way for over 2.5 years now and rarely do I need to use the wand/gun unless I need to use a nozzle to shoot up higher. Russ, do they make a kit so you can rebuild those ball valves? -
Thanks again everyone, it is a great feeling to see people out there praying for you and wishing you well.
