  1. Suppliers not supplying...

Who was it? If you do not mention it here then please pm me so I can know and that will definately be a deciding factor if I am to do business with them.
  2. 30" surface cleaner

I would call them to see if you could get an adapter for a 2-nozzle spraybar or 2 spraybars. This would keep your gpm higher and do a better job. If Mosmatic does not have what you want, I would call Bob at PressureTek and talk to him about it. I am sure he can help and get what you need. I would change out parts before spending the money for another machine. I read somewhere that a company is making adapters to use their swivels in place of other brands that are very expensive. I just do not remember who.
  3. Ladder Standoff

John, This particular house has dormer-like structures that stick out from the wall and are wide and make the job of cleaning the house real hard. The window is blocking a shot from in front and it is wide so from the sides you will not get everything. I was thinking of a ladder off to the side so I can go up about 10' or so and be able to downstream and reach it. I might take my 12' step ladder and be able to get it that way. I had some questions for you John if I could call. Please let me know. PM me the number and when it is ok if possible. Thanks.
  4. Muffler help needed

It might be that the muffler was for a 4cyllinder engine. I have talked to a couple of guys that used a regular full sized muffler and it made all the difference. I have been wanting to try this to quiet my machine. I have the Briggs Vanguard 21hp motor and woud like to try the auto muffler. Maybe this week if I have time.
  5. TGS Withdrawal

I do not know why but for about a month or so when I click on my favorites for TGS, A Black window opens and the site opens later, it takes maybe a minute or so. It is so strange. All my other favorites open quickly. Maybe some settings here changed?
  6. Dryvit help, please

Hello Neil, That is very common down here in South Texas. That kind of mess needs a strong mix, long dwell times and usually multiple applications. Most of the time there is a slight permanent stain but I tell them about the potential stain in the beginning so they are aware. When that gets worse and has sat for more years and is about 1/8" thick or thicker, that is what we have down here a lot of times. I do not know why the homeowner waits so long. A few have told me that they just never noticed it until recently. Make sure that your 10%, 12%, or 15% is fresh and strong. Good Luck.
  7. Casters

Other than a few people out here I have heard nothing but bad things about that company and their products especially their castors. I talked to a guy that went to a hardware store and got some castors and made brackets that allowed the machine to stay at the same height and the castors worked for about 3 years and they were like $3.25 each where he lives. Is it just me or does it look like Whirl-A-Way is copying Whisper Wash?
  8. Univar Problem!!

You did not upset here did you? Just kidding. It sounds like she is not only Incompetent but Lazy and needs a Serious Attitude Adjustment. If you have the time to go up the ladder I would. It might benefit you unless they are trying to close their doors for good with lousy service.
  9. foam the home

Looks like a winner. What chems did you use? Did you use a foam nozzle or the X-Jet? Hard to see the end of the wand. Use foaming agent?
  10. Univar Problem!!

That must be an isolated problem or person. I have never had bad service or any problems with Univar whatsoever. I would call another branch and complain and let them know what is going on and how it is marring their image and hurting their sales. If I had that company I would really appreciate it if someone let me know about a problem like that so I could deal with it immediately and send out letters of apology to all customers in that area and ask for their opinion and if they had problems and make it right! Someone like that will hurt business and their reputation.
  11. Just a good day

Congratualations. Excellent idea of a newsletter. I have thought about one but do not know what to write about to keep it going all the time.
  12. Steeples

I was reading this and it caught my eye, you mentioned: "Heh. I saturated it. Two five gallon buckets worth of diluted chemical." Tell us EXACTLY what was in the (2) 5 gallonbuckets of diluted chemical. If it was diluted to start with that might be the whole problem. If you have Straight Love and soap then X-Jet it then the results will happen. If you had diluted it and then used the X-Jet then the mix might have been much too weak to do the job. Again, Tell us EXACTLY what was in the (2) 5 gallon buckets of diluted chemical so we can help you.
  13. New Truck Signs

I found a few companies that will make magnetic signs that are picture quality and long so I can get one done for the width of my truck tailgate. I am thinking of the pictures of the before/after on my new postcard with the words: Low Pressure Roof Cleaning, or Roof Cleaning then the picture in the middle and then the phone number on the bottom. Either I will do this and get one long magnet or get two 12"x24" and a smaller version of the house before/after with wording. Which sounds better: Roof Cleaning or Low Pressure Roof Cleaning? What do you think for the magnets?
  14. Hello Everyone, I want to increase the weight capacity on my trailer as it is already maxed out. It is 7000 pounds when the tank is full of water. I called a trailer place and talked to them. They told me that I would need to change out the 3500lb. axles for 5000lb. axles. I talked to a good friend today and he told me that all I need to do is change out the springs or add springs. Has anyone done this? I only need about 2000 pounds extra capacity. Also do you need to inform the Department of Public Safety about the upgrade so you are legal? I need to do this soon. Any Advice? Thanks for any help.
  15. Increasing Trailer Weight Capacity

Thanks for the info. I had called the other day to the company that built the trailer and he explained to me the difference in the 4" C channel vs. 5" C channel, springs, axle ratings, Frame buildup, etc.... I will just reduce the weight on the trailer for now until I can purchase a heavier capacity trailer. Now looking at everything as I am moving things around for the new tank and Chemical Bandit, I could get by with a shorter trailer like a 12' instead of a 14'.
  16. Hello Everyone, I have been doing a lot of reading on the older posts and found one that someone mentioned a DEMA Downstream Injector. It mentioned that you could downstream at 3000psi and it is installed inline like a regular Downstream Injector. I looked at their website and it is very confusing to me. Has anyone used one of these and what is the draw ratio? Can it really be used under full pressure or do you need to reduce the pressure for it to draw? I have a 5.6gpm 3000psi machine. I am wondering what kind of draw I could get from it and who sells it. Thanks for any help.
  17. Downstreaming for House washing

Here is a picture that someone posted of it.
  18. Making the x-jet easier to use

I like it. I also like the Top Secret info blocked out. I totally understand. I got the last piece today to build mine. I will post pics when it is done. I need to get a camcorder to Fear The Foam.
  19. 5000psi 4.5 GPM machine?

Remember what you wrote....He is a Salesman. He is not a Professional Pressure Cleaner. He is trying to get you to buy something that he obviously does not have a clue about in the real world. You want the opposite...more gpm's and less psi. There is very little overall that you cannot clean with 3000psi. Ask them if they would change out the pump like John said to an 8gpm 3000psi. I would take it then, if not Pass.... Trying to clean with 2.5gpm is about the same as a car wash but a little more pressure. It would take MANY HOURS Longer to clean a regular house as compared with a Professional machine. I bet the salesman is counting on you to purchase it then you will return it and they will give you a lot less than what you paid since it is "Used" and only credit to another of their pieces of crap. In the end it is better to get something you can use. Shop around online. You might find something that is right for you at the right price.
  20. Cox Reels

I have some Rapid Reels on my trailer that I have had for 3 years now. One is the water inlet for the tank and the others are pressure reels. The only problem so far is the swivel started leaking. My New Bleach Bandit from Bob at PressureTek has a Stainless Steel Titan Hose Reel. It is strong and looks good too. I have only heard good things about Titan. I have heard several bad things about the Cox reels. I have some immitation Rapid Reel hose reels I got from E Spec a while back. They are holding up ok. Swivel went out but I run bleach, degreasers, housewash, etc... through that one. Also 3 years old.
  21. I ds'ed my first moldy house today

I forgot to mention that I have the General Pump Hi-Draw Downstream Injector that Bob sells.
  22. I ds'ed my first moldy house today

Thanks for the info. Since the Downstreamer will work only when you reduce the pressure so it can draw chemicals and the X-Jet will draw only on full-pressure, What if you just took the tip off the X-jet and put it in the place of the downstreamer and just used a bigger nozzle or wider fan so you are still getting the full (example: 5.6gpm, 3000psi) flow in gpm but the pressure is in a wider fan or less pressure in psi but the same gpm? Just an idea to not have to drag buckets around. If it could work, you could spray as strong (up to 2:1 on some models) and not be dragging buckets around. Has anyone tried this yet? I am sure that people a lot smarter than I have thought of it or tried it. I am wondering if it can work or is working for some people. How can the X-jet work at full rate? Can the X-Jet people come up with a Downstream Injector that gets a better draw rate than what is available today? It seems like it could be done.
  23. I ds'ed my first moldy house today

Jarrod, How are you mixing the E-Plus? I have some and not sure on mixing it. I will be downstreaming it.
  24. I ds'ed my first moldy house today

John, What about heating it a little hotter like to 140? Will it make a big difference to the 110-120 degree or not worth it?
  25. Heavy Equipment Washing

I have done a lot like in that picture along with the several hundred ton capacity cranes and dozers, etc.... I like the ones that you can walk under without bending over, makes cleaning a lot easier. I also have used the "Mean Grean", I have purchased it by the 55 gallon drum and it is priced better that way. I would use the white Tyvek coveralls because no matter how I try to stay clean the grease would fly everywhere. I would not charge by the hour but by the piece and just got faster. Sometimes they would have only 1 piece but some days 4 or 6. Get some cheap step ladders as sometimes you need a ladder to get to the engine cover in the back where the counter weight is and there is no steps and then another ladder to get higher to clean everywhere. I wish I had a helper back then to take pictures. Be Very Careful when rinsing the motor as a lot of times the crap will fly into the radiator and then you have to clean greasy dirt out and it is a pain. Heavy Equipment is great but not all the time down here.
