  1. This Australian based, Kiwi born, needs some insight.....aluminium cladding. Its not here in Perth, & not in NZ. So I'm going to have  to assume its made to look like timber overlap, but made of thin, formed ali? Yes? Is the colour bonded to the surface at manufacture or is painted after the place is built? We have panelling over here called Colourbond. It never breaks down. Its electrically bonded   to the panels at the point of manufacture. It doesn't fade, mold can be removed with out any damage, using a bleach/soap mix.

Any hoo, this cladding. What is it?.

  2. Hi People. How you all doing today?.

Brought a Hydrotek HVAM04 swivel to retrofit my s/c. Can anyone tell me, how it can survive without being greased now & again, & what type of bearings it has. Ceramic or stainless, or.....? Or, has anyone pulled one apart to replace said bearings? I had a look on their website, which was about as much use an ashtray on a motorbike!

Any info would be much appreciated.

    Cheers, Mick. :)

  3. Just as an after thought..... While I was doing my research on pumps for the up grade, one of my supplier's was kinda half trying to talk me out of going to 8 gpm. Why did I want the extra flow etc....yahda yahda yahda. Then informs me that I need to attend & pass an "Extreme Pressure Pump" safety course. For OHS reasons!

"really"? Get stuffed. Do you have this sort local govt interference in the US? If it was truly extreme pressure, as in 7 + thousand psi, then fair enough, but 3000 @ 8 gals.....

  4. I've just upgraded to 8 gpm. What a difference. Not so much on the s/c at this stage as I haven't increased the nozzle size yet. But on the rinsing side, its like using a fire hose.  All of my work is monthly periodicals. I noticed that I'm shaving off anything from 1/2 to 1.5 hrs, depending on the area I'm doing that particular month. Should've done it years ago. Live & learn as they say.

As for your set up, its the same as mine, except I have heat. Which is essential for concrete. So much more effective.

    Good luck.

  5. Hi people. I'm looking to increase my pump size up 8 gal pm & to take advantage of the extra flow, I'm looking at the Maxima 36 inch cleaner to get the best "bang' for my buck. All of my work is surface cleaning at shopping centres + the odd bit of residential thrown in.

I cant seem to find out a great deal about the cleaner ; Is it a single, double or 3  nozzle spray bar?

Some of these places are seriously  & depressingly long to look at. As in 600 metres long or 1900 odd feet x up to 5 meters wide, so I'm looking at carving off some serious time with the bigger pump & cleaner.

    Thoughts any one?

    Cheers Mick.

  6. Thanks B & R. The bearing is the key! I spoke to Mosmatic's W A sales rep, who was going to drop in home to have a chat about my needs, but he never turned up! I'll chase him up on Thursday. He did say he'd have to order them in, which doesn't really come as a surprise. Most people think That W A stands for Western Australia. What it really means is "Wait A while''. But if these swivels do what they say, I'll be one happy camper.

Thanks for your input & opinions. Its much appreciated. Cheers.

  7. Thanks Guy. Do the Mosmatic swivels have a thrust bearing in them? I've used the same type, except their brass, but after a short while they get stiffer & stiffer as time go's by, to the point that if you happen to have a loop in the hose & your dragging the hose along to get yourself set up for the next part of whatever you are doing, with pressure in the line & your thumb is in the wrong place on the gun, the hose wont straighten because of the damn swivel & you nearly end up with a broken thumb!

  8. Should have mentioned that after the rubber tube has been cleaned out, it takes about 3 days for the problem to re surface again. Checked the tube again today, & after the lighter oil change, & there's just a ''hint'' of water in the tube. As in when its squeezed, you can just see it moving about as the tube is rolled between your fingers.

    Sooooo. What you say you?

Is it the oil,. or is there some other cause I haven't considered?...........
