  1. Hey Rob,

Wondering if you still have the excel deck estimating calculator and if you'd be able to share it with me? Thanks!

  2. Hi everyone, I would like to get some hands on learning on exterior wood (decks, fences, etc.) so I can start my biz up next year with some confidence. I'm from Iowa City, IA. I would be willing to travel quite a ways to learn. I can provide some good labor in return as well. Let me know if there is anyone out there interested. Thanks! 3. Labor for Learning Part 2

Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it! Celeste, I sent you a PM, hopefully we can set something up. Thanks again! Ryan
  4. Okay, expanding a little bit from my last thread - It looks like the concensus from most people is to go with HD-80, efc38 and citralic for the cleaning/brightening/neutralizing. Now, I'm having a tough time narrowing down which sealent to go with. I would like to start with just one brand for simplicity purposes. What's everyone using? Advantages, disadvantages? Any other brands I should give stronger consideration too? Thanks for ANY feedback!!! Ryan
  5. Thanks, Russel. Can you give me a sense of what type of Sq. Ft. coverage you can typically get per gallon of the product?
  6. Just ran accross the 2008 Sealer Poll after I posted this thread :) Gotta love newbies, huh?! I'm definitely leaning towards Ready Seal, but again, any insight would be helpful!
  7. Matt (or anyone else), just getting into the business and have been trying to read through all of these great threads! We are in the process of establishing contracts and this happened to catch my eye. Would you be willing to share your contract, so I get a sense of proper wording, or possibly direct me to a starting point for this? Thanks! Ryan Albright
  8. Hi Everyone, Starting to get into the wood care business. We have taken all of the initial steps in terms of equipment, insurance, etc. Now we are getting ready to choose what type of chemicals to go with so we can move ahead with some practice jobs. Initially, I'm thinking of going through the Wolman Certified Contractor process and using their cleaners and sealers. Although the Wolman products look they they are tried and true, they also seem a little pricy. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions in regards to a good route in getting started? Also, any other things I need to consider as a newbie in the business? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Ryan
  9. Great information, thanks guys!
