Update, Shelby went to therapy this morning and they said she was doing great. They said it would be a long road to recovery but that she could do that on an outpatient basis and (get this) she could go HOME. Yep Shelby is at HOME tonight sleeping on our couch which is very close to our bedroom but still at HOME. We got HOME around 8:00 pm tonight and she made us stop by Sonic on the way home so she could get French Fries with Cheese and a Strawberry Milkshake. Thank you everyone for praying for her and continue to remember her in your prayers. This is the end of this chapter in her book but not the end of her Story. Praise GOD:lgangel: Morgan

Update Shelby walked about 100 yards today with only help to keep her balance. She also got her feeding tube out today and ate her first food since last Tuesday. We had to slow her down she was eating so fast. She had her swallow test done today and she is ok to eat solids and thick liquids and carbanated drinks. No water or thin liquids like tea or anything like that because she did asperate the thin stuff in the test. She actually smiled at me four times today. That made me feel so good to have her smile at me. She said about 8 words today. Everyday I see improvement and its all thanks to God and everyone praying. Last week when the doctors told us they had done all they could do for her and it was in Gods hands (there words) I almost lost it. We thought we were going to lose her. But the prayers are going up and the blessings are coming down. This shows the power of Prayer and has even strengthen my already strong Faith in God. Morgan

Update, Today Shelby said Three words and walked with help from her bed across a room to a wheel chair. Wow the power of Prayer. The doctors are amazed and cannot believe that she is getting better so fast. Thank God and all of you that are praying for her. She has a test tomorrow to see if she can swallow and hopefully she will get her feeding tube out and can start eating real food. My youngest is having a real hard time at home without mom she has been crying for two hours tonight wanting her momma she doesnt understand what is going on and is scared. She is 6 yrs old and all the other stuff that happened to Shelby was before she was born so this is all new. My middle daugher is a real trooper but she grew up with Shelby in and out of the hospital she understands as much as she can. Morgan

Lebonheur Hospital is the only Childrens Hospital in this area and people come here to Memphis from all over the world because Lebonheur is the hospital that does all of St Judes surgerys. St Jude is a research hospital it actualy doesnt do any surgerys that is left for Lebonheur and St Jude picks up the bill. We dont have a Shriners Hospital anywere close to here to my knowledge but thank you for trying to give me helpful advice it is appreciated. Faith is the only thing keeping me and my wife going right now so you can believe that my Faith will never waiver. For those of you who dont know me or about Shelby she has had many heart surgeries and her last Heart Surgery ended up with a complete Fontain Surgery which is a major reconstruction of the heart. She has had a heart attach at the age of 7, a minor stroke at the age of 8, she has a pace maker and now this major Stoke at the age of 13. God is the only thing that has kept me and my wife sane through all these things that began when she was just 2 days old. Thanks for all the support it is much appreciated. God Bless you all Morgan

She had no real changes since this mornings update but Ill take baby steps forward any day. I knows there power in prayer thats why I have asked so many to pray for her and yes the prayer is working. Update 12/11/05 Shelby woke up this morning and can move her right leg and is trying to prop it up on her own. This is awesome because yesterday she could only move her big toe. Shelby also has movement in her right arm pushing, she still cannot pull and is getting frustrated that she cant. Yesterday the arm was limb and she couldnt move anything on it not even a finger. Speech will be the last thing she will get back because it was the first thing effected and the doctors said it was the worst hit out of everything. All I can say is Praise God and keep praying. Thanks everybody. Morgan:lgkick:

Update this morning she is able to get uhhu and unuh as to say yes and no. She also has a pain reflex in her right arm and the doctors say that this is a good thing. She is in the hospital in Lebonhor childrens hospital in Memphis and now St Jude is getting involved to see if she may have a blood disorder. This is her second stroke her first was when she was 8 yrs old and was very mild compared to this one. All your help on this prayer request means alot to my family. I am a christian and I know the lords will will prevail just please keep praying and pass this along. I am off to the hospital Thank you. Morgan

1st job Quote, A Monster!!
ParadiseProWash replied to TRichter's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Please tell me that is not your tow vehicle. It is a F-150 right. That trailer needs at least a 1 ton with all those tanks on it if they are filled. Does the trailer have brakes? Im not trying to come down on ya but saftey comes first for you and the guy driving next to ya. -
Russell thats a good question. I own both a Direct Drive and Belt Drive and I have not had any pump related problems from either of them. I have read were they say that you cannot draw from a water tank with a Direct Drive but I did it for three years and the machine still runs like a top. I have read about RPM and the pump running faster with the Direct drive unit and with a Belt Drive the pump runs slower. Im no Engineer but if its made right and for that application it should work fine IMHO.

You could rent a pressure washer to do the jobs lined up until you get yours fixed.

The Dodge has a 30% quieter motor than it use to have but is in no way quieter than the Ford or Chevy. The Duramax soulds like a gas burner sitting running and only when you gas on it does it get a little louder than a gas burner. One thing for sure is that the Dodge is cheaper to upgrade the power on than the Powerstroke or the Duramax. I have a friend that has a Dodge Cummins with a 5 speed Farmer of course. He spent $500.00 getting his turned up to 550 hp on the Dyno but then spent $10,000.00 on a clutch that would stand up to that much power. His truck is a 3500 with a Flat Bed on it 4X4 with mud grips on it and he can take off in third gear from a dead stop smoking the back tires and the truck weighs in just over 10,000 lbs. A Duramax or a Powerstroke cost around $5000.00 to get turned up to that much horse power.

A 37 foot travel trailer and a boat on behind that is quite a load for any truck. I dont get upset that is why they make so many different brands of trucks everybody likes something different. There is no right or wrong here its all an opinion on who is the best or worst. Buy whats right for you that fits your budget and you dont mind paying for for 5 years.

Jon I have never taken your comments as trying to start something so dont ever worry about stepping on my toes I know were you are shooting from. There are several answers to your question. Ford is #1 seller in the North, Chevy is the number one seller in the South, Dodge is the number one seller out west these statistics are from the dealerships not from me. The thing with the Chevy is that they have not flooded the market with them they are actually hard to get ask anybody looking for one right now. We as a dealership cannot even trade for them with other dealerships because they require a Duramax back. This being said we DO NOT negotiate on the price here they bring full sticker price or you go on down the road without one. Fords and Dodges are much easily obtained and that would be why you see more of them. Around here all the farmers are on waiting list to get them that is why they only last 2 to 3 hours at our dealership. Memphis is out of them and we have a 300 mile radius that we can draw from and guess what their are no new 04 Models within 300 miles of Memphis at this time. I like all three of the Name brand models but when it comes to comfort I like the Chevy better. I sit in all of them from time to time and the seats in the Dodge and Ford are not as comfortable to me they are to stiff.

I work at a Chevrolet Dealership as a Salesman and as far as the Chevy goes you cannot beat the Duramax with the Allison Trans Combo. At the dealership we cannot keep them. We have them come in all the time and usually they are not there a day before they are sold. The last one we got in lasted a whole two hours from the time it was backed off the truck till it went off the lot sold. The problem with it is you will not find one for 15000.00 used they hold there value better than Ford or Dodge on the resale market. Ford has its transmission problems but they are a tough truck. The Dodge is a good truck but will have absolutly no resale value you would be upside down on it even after 3 yrs on a 5 yr loan. If it were me looking for a used truck for that price and just had to have a diesle I would find a older Ford with a manual transmission. Dodge would be my second choice and Chevy last on this price range. The Chevy 6.5 and even older 6.2 really suck. Yes I said it they suck but the Duramax solved that problem for Chevy around here we have tractor pulls and the farmers pull with there Farm trucks. The last two years a Chevy has won first place with the Duramax and Allison Combo.

I still come around every now and then to read. I hate to hear about Jon. I am selling new and used Cars and Trucks. I am at Jim Keras Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Buick in Somerville TN. I enjoy selling and the car business was my first choice when getting out of pressure washing. 100% Commision sales and as far as Uncle Sam is concerened I am self employed thats what Car salesman are classifed as through the government. The thing about Car sales is you can make $2000.00 a day or nothing its all about what you put into it kind of like the pressure washing field. I got into this strickly for insurance purposes and the hours I put in I dont have time to run a business. Alot of you know my kids background and Insuarance was the reason I closed my business.

Sodium Hypochlorite
ParadiseProWash replied to Ronnie Reeves's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Its all in how strong you mix it. If mixed in the solution properly it works great.:yoda: -
Quality Pump Sprayers
ParadiseProWash replied to CLASSICPW's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Stains and non caustics are fine in a backpack but never use caustics in a backpack sprayer this is a good topic on saftey and should be read by everyone especially the newer guys just getting into this business. -
Sodium Hypochlorite
ParadiseProWash replied to Ronnie Reeves's question in Residential Pressure Washing
If you are having that much trouble finding it you can always use EFC-38 in your mix it is sodium percarbanate base. It works well I have used it when I ran out of Sodium Hypochlorite but it does take a little longer for it to work. Just a thought. -
I haven't been on this board in a while been kinda busy just wanted to stop by and say hi to all my friends that I don't see on other boards. How's it going Rod and Beth I hope your year has started out great.

Quality Pump Sprayers
ParadiseProWash replied to CLASSICPW's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
You couldnt pay me enough money to use a back pack sprayer with the chemicals that I use. One leak and you will be in the hospital with holes in your back. And yes a year or so ago I read about just that thing were one leaked on a guy and it wasnt pretty. Hand help sprayers are fine but never a back pack sprayer for chems. Think saftey at all times. -
My kids make all my gifts and all my wifes gifts for every holiday. It means a whole lot more to me to have a picture drawn by them and displayed on the fridge than any store bought gift ever would. I agree with Ron all holidays are now a days are for Retail stores to sell sell sell and its a shame that Christmas has turned into that.:D

ParadiseProWash replied to John T's topic in Business Topics & Tips
John I deleted that post over there as you know I am a moderator over there now. The guy actually posted a response to you and if was not very pleasing to the eye if you get my drift and I talked with Steven about it and we decided to delete the entire post. We decided that the guy has one more chance to not stir up trouble on the board or he will be banned from that site. If you had read the post carefully you would see that the guy said he had been doing this for a yr and had only done three jobs and one of those was a repeat job (probably family) and that he was only pressure washing for fun money. We dont like his ethics at all and would consider him to be one of those hated lowballers we all talk about. I dont know if you noticed but he also posted a link to a competitors web site for Glenn who sells equipment, that will not be tolerated on that board either as its not on this board as well. I hope I ansered you as to why the post was deleted. Steven sent him a PM and told him to back off and to refrain from bad mouthing people such as you John. We dont need or want people like that on that board that board is there for people who want to learn and are serious about this business as most people are on this board and that one. I am not saying that newbies are not welcome at all but newbies stirring up trouble we dont need or want.:D -
Competition: what gives?
ParadiseProWash replied to RyanH's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Remember that phrase "Show me the Money" it will never happen working for the other guy. I remind myself of this phrase often.:D
