  1. estimate

My price would be around $110.00 each. Using the X-Jet should take a little over an hour each. Of coarse this price is just by the measurements I havnt seen it so could be more depending on the shape of it.:D
  2. Thank you

Thanks Jon you guys and gals are great.
  3. EFC-38 vs. HD 80

A word about X Jetting HD-80 I have read were people dont need to mix the HD-80 full strength so by mixing the HD-80 full strength and diluting it with the X-Jet wouldnt you be mixing the HD-80 at a 50/50 mix which in alot of cases would be enough strenghth to do the job. It would be like mixing 4 oz of HD-80 to a gallon instead of 8 oz right. Like I said its a tool in the box not a thing were its used all the time. I have Surflows, Pump UPs, X -Jet, and Downstream in my tool box for applying things. Its up to the pro to inspect the site and decided what tool is best for this application like Tony did. I think it made perfect sense to X jet what he did as long as conditions were right and as a pro he saw fit to do so. As mentioned earlier these are views and I would like to say to a new person you need to learn before you apply with faster methods. These a dangerous chemicals and as pros we have been dealing with dangerous chemicals for a long time. Ask before you apply with the method mentioned above because these chems can kill you as can alot of chemicals used in this business. :)
  4. EFC-38 vs. HD 80

Tony Im glad you tried the Xjet with stripping. It is a tool in the box and it does have its place while stipping just like everything else. Conditions have to be right in order to use it like no wind blowing. When I use mine on decks I always use the close range nozzel and I have had great results with this method and like you said it goes fast. I would like to say to a newbie reading this that conditions must be right like no wind or it is dangerous. These are my views and are meant only as a view. Truck washers use Xjets all the time to apply acid and they are shooting it in the air alot more than I am now I would think that to be very dangerous. We as pros in this business have alot of toys in our box and each has its place. As pros we know when we can and cannot use a certain method due to certain conditions.:D
  5. Weather

It was nice here today high was in the 70's the breeze was blowing my father in law came up with some watermelon and eat that out under the tree. Then I got a Garden Pond out of the shed and dug a hole 6x8 and 18" deep. Man im not use to that kind of work. Dang a shovel. Morgan
  6. What did I do wrong?

I agree with Paul on his last answer if you just have to do it now get the Wolmans Deck Brite and in the future stay away from the Sodium Hypo... on wood. When working on a grayed deck with nothing ever applied a percarb or Oxcilic based cleaner is always your best route.
  7. What did I do wrong?

When I first started out I ran into this problem. I was using Olympic deck cleaner and it had a white look to it. This was just a charactistic of the cleaner I think. Its kind of like using bleach. All I can tell you is to rinse rinse rinse and then rinse some more. The only other option I could give you is to reclean the deck with something like the EFC-38 which is a percarb cleaner it should fix it right up and then neutrilize it.:D
  8. References (Conversion Charts, Formulas).

Paul that book you refer to the Machinerys Handbook is a machinist bible. I know, thats what I did for 14 yrs and the last 2 yrs I was the quality control manager there. I used that book everyday and it was well worn. Its a must if you do any kind of machine work.:)

  12. Story Time.

Thanks everybody I thought I might need to explain to everyone why I have been is such a bad mood. Sorry for the way things have come out lately Im trying to move on and some are helping to do that and I really appreciate all the help you guys and gals are giving me. Dont really know why but I just cant seem to shake the mood I got into a little heated discussion with Bryan last night on another board and later I just shook my head and wondered why I had done it. So I stayed up late and did some research for him and I hope I helped him out. :)
  13. Chemicals for Testing.

  14. Story Time.

I went and signed up for TN Care it is gov program here in TN. They denied my family because I made to much money. I just got the letter yesterday. I went up their and signed up the week before I got laid off but was waiting for this letter. Im going to go back up their with my lay off slip because now I dont make to much money. Shouldnt have a problem but we will see. In TN under TN Care you pay nothing for Prescriptions and only $10.00 for a doctors visit and they said they would go back and pay the $2500.00 or so dollars so I can tell ya GOD does answer prayers. Beyoungsr yes I am a religious man have been all my life and if I hadnt been I sure would be now after going thru all this with my girls. Beth thanks for the links I will look at them after church thats were Im off to now.
  15. Story Time.

To show you how bad this is for me let me give you a little history lesson on my family. I was born with a VSD which is a hole in the heart I had it repaired at 18months old and now have high blood pressure at the age of 34. My 11 yr old daughter was born with multiple VSD's doctor said her lowed chamber of her heart looked like swiss cheese. She had to have surgery two yrs ago and they were unable to repair the holes so they did reconstuctive surgery called a Fontain opertion. She spent 5 weeks in ICU and had a heart attach. They decided she needed a pace maker so they put one in her. After a yr the lead wire broke on the pace maker and she had a stroke spent another 3 weeks in ICU and had the lead fixed yes another open heart surgery. Then last yr we found out my 8 yr old daughter had an ASD which is a hole in the upper chamber of the heart and she had a new procedure done were they can repair the hole like doing a heart cath. The cost for that was just as much as Open Heart Surgery she is fine now. Then 4 months ago we find out my 3 yr old has a ASD but the hole will close on its own so she will be fine. My oldest daughter takes a hand full of pills three times a day and I take blood pressure pills. My middle daughter has ADHD so she takes ridlin so our prescrition drug bill is expensive. Add all this together and it = 's no insurance company will touch my family unless its through a company that has alot of employees. In the last month we have racked up over $2500.00 worth of medical bills with no insurance. NOW YOU KNOW WHY IM IN A BAD MOOD. This is why I never went full time in this business because of insurance reasons. Sorry I needed to vent alittle I am attaching a picture of when my middle daughter had surgery It has all three of my girls picture in it and me.
  16. Story Time.

I have been a machinist for 14 yrs and the company is closing. I am full time Pressure washer now. As for the insurance the company I worked for is closing down going bankrupt and they owe the insurance company $30,000 thats not a typo either. They will not offer us cobra until the bill is paid and the company cant pay the bill they couldnt even make our pay checks good two weeks ago had to wait a week for it to be good so what do you do.
  17. Story Time.

Forget it guys I have been in a bad mood the last couple of weeks I got laid off from my full time job and lost my health insurance is going to cost me around $50,000 a yr I think thats enough to put anybody in a bad mood. I will move on and try to get my head back on straight.

Everett I agree but slamming is slamming and rules are rules so if you let one go then you got to let them all go right. If the rules apply to one then they should be enforced by and to all. Below is the direct quote from Beth I dont know but I would consider this inflamatory remarks wouldnt you.
  19. Story Time.

Jon thats a cute story and I like it alot however I dont think its appropriate on this board as it could be considered slamming. Their maybe some here that are french descendants and may not be so funny to them so maybe it should be deleted. I believe the rules on this board are no slamming or unrulely comments thats what I was told anyway
  20. Respirators

You can get them fairly cheap. I dont know if Beth sells them or not you might want to ask her.
  21. HD-80 reviews... read for yourself! :)

First to OTP i believe I was referring to John and not Tony. Also as far as a chemcial spill is concered there is a product called Bio Matrix which can clean up the spill and be disposed of legally in a land field. Beth you know all I did was ask a questions and ask if it was true there was no dig or inuendos involved I read it on the internet somewhere while surfing and thought I would ask. I guess it would have been better to Email you and ask however I was already here and the air was cleared so I dont think any harm came from a simple question and answer. Also I origanally posted that the HD-80 and the RPC 113 worked the same I never bashed either product I was just trying to help if someone who might have been looking for a liquid that works as good as the HD-80. Powders are great if that is what you like then by all means use it. My prefernce is Liquid and that is all I have been trying to get across for others that might like liquids. However the digs were coming from both sides and if you would prefer to delete this entire post then by all means do so its your board. Maybe you dont want me to come to this board anymore if so just say so I have opions and express them and then I got into a little heated discussion about my opion SORRY
  22. HD-80 reviews... read for yourself! :)

Tony I agree with you 100 percent saftey is the key. Mixing of chems is very dangerous to your health. The reason I like the liquid so much is that its already dangerous enough and with powders I have to factor in the wind. I would rather do this mixing at the shop were I have no wind blowing and still I wear the proper gear such as chemical gloves, saftey shield, Cover alls, rubber boots, respriator and Long pants not shorts. As is stated SAFTEY SAFTEY SAFTEY. Somebody somewhere is going to get hurt if the SAFTEY part is not pushed more than it already is.

Aplus I was not saying that you were knocking me I was saying not to thats all. No harm done just a little misunderstanding thats all. John I use Stevens chemicals in liquid form and they are super concentrated I can tell you this because we tested them with a refrator meter. We tested the HD-80 mixed at full strenghth per their specs and we tested the RPC 113 at full strengh. The RPC 113 was quite a few numbers on the refractor meter higher than the HD-80 mixed at full strenghth per their specs. What does the test prove well it proves that the chemical make up is heavier or more chemical all together. Not meaning just one chemical but all in the mix. I dont lug chemical containers around any more than you. If you like mixing powders blowing around in the wind good for you but I think I would use a respirator to do it to keep the dust from the powder entering my lungs. Be safe not sorry. I dont like mixing anything in powdered form if Im not in a controlled enviroment meaning my shop. As for the space issue if you are so crowder that you need powder for everything maybe you need a bigger trailer. I dont have a ton of space but everything on my trailer has its place all my extra chemicals stays at the shop in 55 gallon plastic drums where it belongs. If you are carring over 1000 lbs of chemcial on you trailer you have to have a triangle for DOT to see like the big trucks. Meaning no more than 121 gallons I believe. I know this is true in TN I dont know about other states. John what other chemicals do you carry that are powder that you mix on the site besides stripper and Acid to Nuetrilize with.
  24. HD-80 reviews... read for yourself! :)

A plus I have been doing this for 5 yrs and have never had a spill in or on my trailer. I dont mix things on my trailer and use funnels to avoid spills. Now Im not saying Ive never spilled just not on my trailer. Some people like Apples and some like Oranges no big deal just dont knock me for likeing something that you dont. I prefer liquid I dont like the powder stuff blowing in the wind and since this yr I went from an Enclosed trailer to an open trailer for convience to my operation the liquid is what works best for me.
  25. HD-80 reviews... read for yourself! :)

Were Beth I cant find it and have not seen it yet I would love to see it. Also would like to say I have nothing against the HD-80 my dislike of the product is that it is a powder and you have to mix I prefer liquid its just my preference notice the word MY. I would think that is why their are Chevys, Fords, and Dodges, and so on and so on so that people can make a choice if I buy a Chevy does that mean that I dont like a Ford heck no I like them but at the time that would be MY choice. I am not trying to start any arguments I just want to clear the air on that now. I like Beth and Rod I have never met them but from what I read they seem like good honest people. I am not here to argue and start arguments but am here to learn and teach also some others may dislike powder as well and might be looking for a good liquid that works as well as the HD-80. If I have rattled any chains then forgive me for having an opion and voiceing it.
