  1. House wash- Baldwin MI - 9-7-10

HaHa I can handle it if you don't want to come from Michigan. I'll PM ya.
  2. Downstreaming Tips & Tricks

Sometimes I have found too that the orifice just wears out. I guess it opens up due to the friction of the chems in the water and once it is too open the venturi effect is not strong enough to pull. Look at on old injector that quit working and take out the orifice. It will be worn uneven and more open. Also another trick I always do is that when I install a new injector, I take a diagonal wire cutter and shorten the spring in the check valve. I cut off about 1/4 to 1/3rd. All the spring does is keep the ball from blocking the flow of chems when it is pulling. Under high pressure the ball will seat and stop the backflow. One note of caution, the spring and check valve also stop the injector from siphoning from the bucket if you take the injector off and lay it down by the bucket, so if you do, pull the hose out of the bucket.
  3. I've got one. A Honda engine, General Pump and Beckett burner. It's been a workhorse. Put 15045 tips on your Big Guy along with a 3/8 hose and let it fly! The Big Guy really needs the higher gpm. Landa's are great but only Landa can fix 'em. Just about anyone can fix a General Pump. It's a good machine.
  4. mixing bleach with soap???

haha , don't ever mix bleach with oxalic either gasp gasp ack ack...I did accidentally once it was awful!
  5. machine dies for no reason

I know I bet. Mine was doing same thing. Mine was pulling a vacuum on the fuel tank and starving the carb. See if when you take off the fuel cap you hear a whoosh. If so do what I did and drill a tiny new vent hole in the cap.
  6. Buying new power washers?

If your gonna be a bear be a grizzly bear! 8gpm for me. I have no trouble with supply just always keep about 150 gallons to start with. 8gpm can clean resi SOOOO FAST and strip decks and clean concrete. ITs the way to go!
  7. For one thing do not pre wet the deck before applying the stripper. You want the stripper hitting the deck as strong as you make it and not trying to guess how much the already wet wood is diluting it. Be sure you are using enough stripper and let it sit (dwell) for about 20 minutes.
  8. Degreaser - Caustic Soda Beads

I neutralize concrete and wood with oxalic acid. It also really brightens up the concrete well.
  9. Degreaser - Caustic Soda Beads

Holler at me when you are in the 'hood. I'll bring some PPE and come lend you another helping hand :)
  10. Degreaser - Caustic Soda Beads

I actually saw him do it too!! For concrete I mix Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Hydroxide, TSP and some Dawn too. I like lotsa suds ;) sometimes add purple power. Downstream and dwell time. You can see the dirt running as soon as the solution hits the concrete. edit...just be careful with this stuff. It will leave a nasty burn!!!
  11. Internet M.S.D.S. database

Have you checked the link lately? I get "page not found" but it may just be a temporary problem.
  12. concrete cleaner

You might want to try the "search" function. It's probably been asked 1000's of times. Most people get tired of answering these kind of newby questions over and over.
  13. Chemical Injector problem

+1 on what Thad says but the Pressure Teks special injector has the ball just does not have the spring except has a star washer to keep the port open and ball from closing the bottom port. Like Chris said sometimes the small O ring that the ball seats on goes bad and the ball will stick hard to it. I've had good luck with all my injectors and spares after taking a diagonal wire cutter and cutting off about 1/4 or so of the spring in the check valve. High pressure is going to slam the ball on the check valve shut anyway, I just want to be sure it opens up easily, the real purpose of the spring is to keep the ball from closing the port or hole on the main body of the injector and give the chem an open path around the ball.
  14. Did my own election poll for Massachusetts senator

You should get a job as pollster for the Democratic party!
  15. Float Valves

I use the hudson on my 8 gpm machine it works great!
  16. Winterize with air compressor?

Ethylene definitely kills any animal that drinks enough. I met a guy once that tried to kill himself with it. Turns your insides to gel. He barely made it out alive and has to have kidney dialysis now for the rest of his life.
  17. Chimney stains

A strong roof mix always worked great for me. Maybe add a little butyl or caustic on regular brick. Was that a stucco chimney or painted brick or what? Great job!
  18. Who uses the "Ladder Saver"

Everybody's going to say an 0040 or 0050 will do the same, and they both do good. But I do have a ladder saver nozzle and with my 8gpm machine I will say the ladder saver does shoot farther and hit harder with bigger droplets. I have washed church steeples and dormers from the ground that I just couldn't hit hard enough with an 0040. I do like the ladder saver for those few time I need long range and they are great for busting dirt dauber nests and knocking down wasp nests up high. I probably would have never bought it from most of what I read others say about just using an 0040 but for my setup it has it's revered place.
  19. Exhaust flex tubing

I need to get about two feet myself. I need to divert my exhaust. Right now it is less than two feet from my pressure hose reel and gets my hose quite toasty! 'Fraid it may burn or mess up my hose.
  20. I walked away, instead of making it worse.

Great response. Love it! "If your dog doesn't like someone you probably shouldn't either." - Unknown "The more people I meet the more I like my dog." - Unknown "Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. 21. Artillery Fungus Removal

Do you do this on vinyl siding? Ooops! Mam your black dots are gone...and so is your vinyl siding.:o
  22. We will Start Stenciling everything in sept

Ron, are you going to ask permission of the property owner? How will that work? I'd be a little p.o'd if you came and stenciled my drive without asking? Would kinda be like graffiti. I'd want you to come clean the whole thing for free then. Am I misunderstanding something here?
  23. Biggest trailer you can use

Also your axles have to take into account not only the payload but the weight of the trailer itself.
  24. Biggest trailer you can use

In my opinion if you are ever going to hauling 500 gallons ( I do!) you will need the tandem 5000 lb axles. Think about it. 500 gal = 4000 lbs my skid weighs a 1000 lbs and my chem tank could carry 1000 lbs plus equipment and a barrel plus the weight of the trailer. Mine is an 18' and I have an very long wheel base truck (8ft bed and ex cab) yes it canget tight in cul de sacs but I am happy with the 18 ft trlr.
