Thanks guys, I'm going back out Monday (if its stopped raining), every now and then you need a job that is a pain in the rear, just to make you appreciate the good jobs;~) Gav

I actually have had to point out to a customer that my machine was a Pressure Washer and that it didn't caulk, it didn't paint, it didn't remodel and it didn't replace crappy sideing, I think I lost that account, but you know what, I don't miss it. Gav

Thanks Ryan, I've been around these boards long enough to know I should have done a search first, but sometimes my memeory needs jogging. This is 20 year old sideing that has never been cleaned and i did indeed get too close from underneath in order to get all the cacoons off, well I guess I will be returning and cleaning from a distance. Thanks Gav

Not sure if they have Tractor Supply stores in NJ, but if so, they carry them. Gav

Paul, I PM'd you, but apparently your inbox is full, it's time for tea now, but I will try again latter. Gav

You mean, you actually believed a customer....c'mon now:irritated Gav

Sounds like a finicky job, I don't know if I'm even picturing it right, but couldn't you use your blower to remove the majority of the pine needles? Gav

Wally world doesn't carry the liquid kind down here in H town, niether does grocery stores, you need to go to a pool supply store. Gav

While it's true I do make less washing windows than I do house washing, it's only slightly less, I still average $50 an hour window cleaning as oppossed to $75 aprox House wahing. Gav

Does anyone have a form letter that they send to old customers they havent heard from in quite a while? Gav

I just got a bid to clean and seal a deck with Dark red Ready Seal, and I have a few questions, actually getting this deck job this close to Xmas suprised me, but anyhow, they want it done in time for the holidays and I want the cash in time for the holidays:~) well to start off with I didn't have any cleaner or brightener so i went to lowes and got some Flood Deskwood, its an oxcillic based cleaner and I wasn't terribly impressed, yes it took it from black to light grey, but it still looks like dodo, so any suggestions on a store bought cleaner that I can get quick? Secondly, the plantpots that were sitting on the deck must have been there since it was new, because I've now got circles that look like new wood, should I try and feather them out with a sander or what, anywway I'm going back tommorro and hopefully the weather will hold and I'll be staining next week. Thanks Gav

Thanks for all the help on this one guy's, the job went great (though I did spend more time on it than I figured), the husband wasn't home when I left after staining it, so the wife paid me. But he did call later that evening to thank me and tell me how wonderfull the deck looked, that dark red Ready seal does look good and I have enough left over to do one of my decks:~) once again thanks Gav -

Thanks Beth, I just sent you my address. I recleaned the deck with oxyclean yesterday but I did not neutralize, though I did spend longer rinsing the darn thing than I did cleaning it, I don't have a job for tommorro, would I be better off going out there and nuetralizing? Gav -

i just did a search for the SuperDeck products and there's a place just down the road that sells them, do you think that the Db-1450 would do a better job than the Flood product? Gav -

Thanks Reed My main problem is time does seem to be one of the larger factors, I would have quite happily put it off till after Xmas and i knew I was taking a chance getting shelf bought goods, i have enough Wolmans wood brightener for about two gallons, do you think the oxy clean would mix with that, or would that be chancey. Also, I'm worried about the cirlcles of new looking wood where the plant pots are/were, how bad do you think they would show up through the Dark Red? Thanks Gav -
My simple question is, is there any benifits of using hotwater on decks, I thought I read somewhere that hot water shouldn't be used on decks, can someone clarify and explain. Thanks Gav

Sorry Dale, seems like I'm always last on the bandwagon, but if you wouldn't mind. winclean50@hotmail.com Thanks Gav

Ron on high 2nd story houses I do just that, but it does tend to be somewhat messy, on houses where its low enough, I simply walk along spraying the gutter, then go back to the beginning and walk along brushing ( it doesn't take much) and then I rinse it all down, it actually doesn't take as long as it sounds and rather than a sponge I use a vehicle brush. Right on the bottle under "active ingredients" it says Sodium Hydroxide, but keep going, this thread has made me think about more than application methods. Gav

I know exactly what your saying Morgan, but there's 2 factors come into play for me. 1) My bussines hasn't progressed to the point where I am working 5 full days a week ( I wish it would), if that were the case, then "time is money" would certainly mean much more to me. 2) The cost of GZ is just to high for me to x-jet, with shipping i is costing me nearly $20 dollars a gallon, perhaps if I could find a local supplier where I could pick it up myself it would be different. Though saying that, I am going to try Pauls suggestion and try the All-Brite, at that price I could afford to apply with the X-Jet, but I need to try it for myself to make sure I am happy with the results. Gav

Thanks Paul, at that price I reckn I'll try out the allbrite and the repair kits, and try not to be so lazy at roll up time! Gav
