To make it easier for her, you should have offered to sell her your business. Then buy it back in 6 months for a 1/4 of the price.

Jeff, how many miles, 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton, and can you post a pic. I just put a order in for a 07 3/4 ton but would cancel it if I have to.

In MN. the regs for needing a CDL are "Class C a single unit vehicle 26,000 GVWR or less", "Class B over 26,000 GVWR" and "Class A vehicles towing more then 10,000 lbs GVWR with a gross combination weight rating ( truck plus trailer) over 26,000" Also you need a Medical card to drive ANY commercial vehicles

Dude, thats some funny*hit. thanks fo making me laugh

Sounds like alot of work with your setup when theres alot of liquid ice controls out there like Magic-O or Caliber M100 just to name a few that work better then a salt brine and at a lower temp.. Or how about just a tailgate spreader with road salt or other products like Clearlane by Cargill or Magic salt. Are you going out after the fact or are you pre-treating these surfaces first?

He came in $18 higher then the other guy. Sounds like he was just upset that he lost that contract....Understandable but still no reason to call you and whine.
-
No wrong doing on your part. Now just prove to them that they made the right choice by changing over to you.

Normally 4 trips a year, about every three months 7-8 day at a pop. Warm trips between Nov. and April and fishing and camping trips between May and Oct. But then there are those Ice fishing and snowmobiling trips in between. We'll be in So.Cal over Easter and Costa Rica 2nd week of May.
Time to start making more money.

Tru dat.... We have a large builder that now just ask'd for a net 45 and a 15% discount from all of their contractors. We got by with keeping the net 30 but had to give up 10%
-
I think the deposit is there to protect the us from last minute cancellations, slow pays and no pays. If your a reputable business you should have no problem getting something down. When we work with builders or large company we go with a Net 30. Residential all require 25% down. It sucks when you show up the day of the job only to be told that they forgot to call you to cancel. Deposits make it less likely for that to happen.

You could add a coupon to it for 10% off when mentioning this hanger.

Residential day of services by check or CC. Commercial Net 30

So Troy, what ever became of this job?????
-
How many of you ask for a deposit if your scheduling work more then a couple Weeks out. We just started asking for a 25% deposit if the job is to be done more then a month after its scheduled. We send out the invoice, a envelope w/return address and a letter thanking them for using our services and that if a deposit is not set out within ten days their job will be canceled. Its seems to be working good so far, haven't had any complaints yet. I think its a good way to keep people from backing out the day before you arrive.

Thats some good advice Doug, but I would not walk away from a job and let someone else do it (never leave money on the table). It sounds like the GC is a friend of yours and your going to have to try to do whats best for the both of you..Again we dont know the whole story, he might be selling the building as soon as its painted, or he might be planing on painting it again in 2 years... Figure out whats going to work best for you and your customer and do it.... Its as simple as that.
