  1. Troy tell us a little about what kind of equipment you'll be using. Are you saying that after the building is cleaned its to be painted?? If he just wants it spot cleaned before paint $80 per hour plus $1 per ft on the gutters. Call a supplyer like sunbrite and tell them what your cleaning, thay'll take care of you. Or mabye some one else can chime in and give you a few names who to contact ...

    Good luck

  2. Tims right with the $20-$25 per drive but we do mostly commercial. In a normal we have around 18-22 events which are at least 2". ( 3" this last sunday night ) but so far we have only been out 4 times. We try to work it out so each truck pulls around $20,000 per season and the skid around $18k to $20k but not this year. The pay can be good but the stress level on those days are crazy. Salting and sanding is really where the moneys at.

Tim, you going with the duramax? 1500, 2500 or 3500 glad to hear your getting back to play'n in the snow. Good luck

  3. Its been a slow year up here for plowing. We got out earlier in the year for an 2" event and then a couple of weaks ago for an 8" event. That 8" was one of the worst days in a long time.

2am, I got the bobcat behind the F250, about 6" on the roads so it takes me about 1hr to get to the first site. Just as I pull into the houseing development ( 60 driveways and 12 townhouse fingers ) the tranny goes on the truck.

I leave my help with the truck and go at it with the skid with 30 mph winds, blowing snow, 15' visibility. 1/2 hour into it I get sick, pop a few motion sickness pills, good to go. 2 hours later the plow breaks on our F350. ( took 1 hour to fix ) 15 hrs later, development done, 12 jiffy lubes done, 4 town house assocations done, local airline maint. hanger done and the ethanol plant done. Some times it make you think " is the money really worth it " OOOOOOOOOOOOO YA. It would be nice to have a few more storm's before the winter is over. Now that the bugs are worked out.

  4. Well, it turned out this time all thay wanted was the insides pwed. Thay do there own disenfecting through their overhead sprayers. Thay also had the area's scraped for us when we got there. Next time we'll be doing the scraping (nasty) and the pwing. All we used was a little bit of powerstroke as a presoak and then hit everything hot. Walls, ceiling, cages and floors, we even got out the rust stains on the walls with a little bit of rust-a-way. (thay loved that ) I thought it was going to be worse but once you get used to the smell its all cake. We did use respirators, glasses and rainsuits. We'll be going back in march for another round, it sound like this will be a 3 times a year gig, hopefully we can grab a few others. 5 49x198 barns in 2 days at .07 psf. Still need to figure out how much to charge for scraping next time. Thanks for all of your help and replys to my question.

  5. Matt, you right about the risks. Just to name a few theres Swine flu, Salmonella, E-Coli and Strep, all pretty nasty stuff. Safty will play a big roll in this one. I've got a call into these guys

http://miracle2.net/agriculture/agricgallery_hogs.asp hopefully I can get some info from them. I'll be looking at the barns tomarrow and should be able to get a little better feel of whats going to be involved. If this goes good this could be a new market for us.$$$$$$$$$$

  6. Thanks Scott, I'll let you know what I find out tomarrow. I think your right adout the chlorine and then something for the odor. I think you have to look out for what chems. you release into the waste lagoons also, so not to kill or bother the bacteria in those ponds. I wouldent give up living in the country for anything. I grew up in the city and it would take alot to get me back. But then again haveing a Taco Bell under 15 miles would be nice. lol

  7. Thats right, "HOG BARNS" I'll be going to a farm with 5 49'x198' hog barns that need the concret floors cleaned before thay bring in the new pork. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experence with this type of cleaning. I drive past them daily and I know it wont be pretty. I'm thinking surface cleaner w/ hot water, and a helper rinseing. Hopefully this will be the last job for the year befor the snow starts to fly. I cant wait to put away the washer and start pushing snow . Seasons rock!!!!!!!!!!!
