Any chance of a pic? That would cool to see.
-
Some pics of the new set would be nice. Also, when are we going to have a manufacturer make an injector that is comperable to the X-jet as for as injection rate? Can I take the regular X-jet and stick some 3/8 QC on it? I think the front is threaded...right?

Need Clarification...Please Help

What happens to brick if HD-80 gets on it? -
Dale, Is that a two person operation and are you on the roof?
-
Dale, If you get this I may take you up on your offer to spend a together. I am still boggled by some of the claimed speeds of washing houses on this board. May be in a week or two, I just got done teaching and now have the summer off. Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. A while ago someone mentioned that you need an alkaline cleaner for gutters...how do I tell if it is alkaline?

I have not seen any used ones for sale; Bob at Pressuretek.com has the best prices I think. I got my M5 from him.

hd80 mix?
svp07 replied to clean streak's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I knew the HD80 was by weight, I didn't see the point of getting the 9oz cups due to that being volume. I am thinking of ordering some HD80, but I am really going to have to talk to someone about procedures and safety measures to surrounding building materials. -
I was looking for some feedback on this chem, which I posted in another thread. I told a pool guy I was looking for some liquid sodium hypochlorite and the I did not want the calcium stuff cause of its solubility and rinsability. He said it was like powder bleach. And like Paul-UK suggested, I do not have an over abundance of chems and am trying to get rid of them. I am new and I am researching and learning. I appreciate all the feedback, it really helps. Steve Previous post on another thread: Is anyone using the sodium dichlor? I was talking to a pool guy yesterday and he suggested it. Steve

If your anchor point is far enough away from the house you wont touch the gutters. Also, you can have a secondary anchor point off chimneys sometimes. I use an off road strap with loops stitched in the ends. Attach the ends with a big pear carabiner and then attach your rope to that. You can also attach it, the strap, to trees using a prusik knont, single or double....you can look that knot up on a climbing web site. Be carefull about running the rope over the peak of the roof, you'll saw in to it and damage your rope sheathing.

hd80 mix?

Charlie, If using a 9 oz cup that is by volume not weight. -
My machine is 4/3500. How do I calculate the decrease in pressure for each nozzle I go up to decrease the pressure and keep the flow rate? If I use a 40 degree #4 tip and double the tip size to #8 at 40 degrees what does the pressure drop to? Thanks for the help, Steve Omege Power Washing, LLC "The end of the Dirt!"

Is this the first time this has been discussed here? Steve
-
Does anyone know the per inch pressure decrease moving away from the nozzle? just thought I'd throw it out there. Steve
-
thanks Dale, I appreciate it. I'm still jealous about you have access to 12% S/H in southern NJ....I'm still looking. Steve
-
Mike, Thanks for the chart, ,but what do the numbers under the 3500 psi mean ex. #8 is a 7.5 , what does that mean? Steve
-
I don't know what is going on up here in NJ. I bought a case of 12% for just under $30; don't know why I did but I can't find S/H at 12% annywhere, still calling but they wont give $ over the phone. I meet with a producer and he said his raw material costs went up and a lot of pool centers only use the calcium stuff and dichlor. And I push onwards in this crusade.... Steve

Hey Paul-UK, Thanks for the reply. Here in Northern NJ it is very hard to find a deal on S/H. A pool store wants to sell it to me at about $7 a gallon. I went to the manufacturer and I can't do business with them unless I am going to spend over $5k a year...not reasonable. Dichlor is about $60 for 25 lbs. I am just wondering if it is effective and how to mix it. I knonw the ph is low at about 7 and am not sure if that is a big deal. S/h is 13/14 I think. Thanks for the help, Steve

Anyone heard of Lithium Hypochlorite. I found it online while looking for the sodium stuff. Anyone know anything about it? Steve

Is there a down stream chem injector that has the same big ratio as the X-jet; like 1:2? I would like to set up the injector just before the gun; I already have the x-jet m5 I just want to try something. Thanks for the help, Steve Omega Power Washing, LLC
-
Thats what I was getting at Ryan. Do you think it would work and still maintain the distance? Just need to find the right injector. Steve
-
The reason I was asking was because of the lost distance when injecting chems. If the injector was before the gun and not at the nozzle I think the distance would be maintained at 50 ft. and I like being able to turn off the chems close by.

I have been interested in asphalt roof cleaning but am worried about what chemicals will do to the asphalt. This was especially true for bleach, which I hear some use and others warn against. i wanted to see the direct effects of bleach on the asphalt shingle so I decided to soak a piece of shingle in ultra bleach, 6% sodium hypochlorite. I was just going to leave it in for a few hours, but I forgot about for a day and a half. I finally took it out and washed it off, it seemed to maintain its intergrity. I have also been check it nonw for about 5 days, it is still flexible and strong. Has anyone else done any testing on shingles? Steve

Quick question, the container of Citracleen says not to use on aluminum. Is that only for undiluted concentrations or is it alright to use for this type of house wash....1/2 gal for 5 gal of house wash. Thanks, Steve
