Has anyone used F-13 from pressuretek? I was thinking of trying it and was wondering if anyone had some input, I am currently using the citracleen. Some say F-13 does well on gutters, anyone have the ingredients list? I was also thinking of trying Gutter Shock...are there any building materials it should not come in contact with, like glass; anyother precautions? Thanks.

I want to make a compact shur-flo setup for my gutter cleaner. I am tired of using a pump-up and having to carry it on a ladder to spray the fascia along the eves. I have a few questions about shur-flo setups. 1) What type of battery and how long will it last when charged? I am not sure if the shur-flo continually runs or shuts it self off when there is no demend; do I need to wire in an on/off switch? 2) Can I use QC with the poly hose? I am planning on a 1.6 gal/60 psi pump. Is there enough pressure to keep the QC closed? 3) Any suggestion for a small container that will house the battery and the pump can be mounted on the outside on top? Has anyone heard of or used Sioux Pressure/Steam cleaners? They have combos of cold/hot/steam units. I am looking into hot water units and am considering steam also. Does anyone use steam here or have a combo unit with steam. I am curious as what you can do with steam. Thanks, Steve

Before and after...acid washed and 1800 psi cold. pressure alone cannot remove black crust unless you're into resurfacing.

I was just looking for some input on prices for the following services by the sq. ft.: 1. clean and brighten 2. strip and brighten I have looked through most of the old threads and have found nothing that breaks it down. The reason I am asking is that for the decks I have lined up I am doing the prep work and my father is doing the staining and he usually bills by the hour. I was thinking to clean and brighten .50 sq. ft. and to strip and brighten .70 sq. ft. I think the prices may be a little high but don't know, I live in an expensive part of the country. Thanks.

Don't mix with bleach, it will cause a chemical reaction. I usually have a couple gals around as a general cleaner. Buy commercial cleaners and dilute from there, they work better.

Does anyone know if HD-80 will remove polyurethane?

Russ, Thanks for the offer, but I have decided to pass on the job. I am not a wood guy...always see to get furring no matter what the cleaning concentration of the ammount of pressure. Give me homes and I am starting to love masonry restoration work. Thanks again. Can the wood care products be used for anything else?

Any problems using sewer jetting hose for power washing? Thought it would be lighter and more flexible. Durablility? Thanks.

That is a large loss in pressure. I knew what it was for the 3/8" hose, but that is pretty high for the 1/4". I did think about using it for the last 50 or 75 feet I am only carting around 150 on my portable hose reel. Thanks for the feedback.

I was thinking of running 1/4"...that is opening of my gun. I am using a 3500 4.5 cold water partable. I am thinking that there will be a considerable difference in weight. It is to go on my portable hose cart, posted pics last season. I usually x-jet from the top of my little giant ladder and have to get on some roofs, I think it will reduce the weight of the hose pulling down when I am going up.... Any thought?

Rod, thanks for that post it helped. I was googling "battery case" and nothing was coming up that I could use and I knew there was something out there like that. As for the brush vs. spray gutter cleaning, do you guys also use it on the fascia and aluminum around the windows? I usually have to clean oxidation and stains off these and they have some stubborn mildew stains. I am using Gutter Shock at about 1 cup per gallon with a drop of foamer (I just started adding in a little chlorine as well about 2 cup per batch)...is this to weak? I brush the fascia (all the way up the eves), the window flashing, gutters, and down spouts. I find they come much cleaner than just using the cleaner alone like I have heard from some. Any suggestions? I am hoping that the set-up I am working on I will also be able to do roofs with.

A while ago I had posted a thread about building a hose cart for my high and low pressure hoses to get some feed back. Well I built it a while ago and thought I would post the pics. I got the design idea from a shur-flo setup pics I saw on here and thought I would share my design, it might help someone on here. I also am posting my trailer pics, I am a small part-time operation so no bashing please. The pics might help other newbies out there like me.

Eads, The trailer was acquired by my father for transporting my sister and I back and forth to Clemson Un. in SC. The frame was at my aunt's house and not used for about 4 years. I took it apart and rebuilt it to what it is now. The base and ramp are original, sides, top, and shelf are new. I have had to get real creative on how to utilize the limited space to carry everything I need for a job. The trailer holds my machine, hose cart, surface cleaner, 5 buckets, a fiver of citriclean, on the bottom. The shelf has all my odds and ends, other chems in gallon jugs, tool box, spare parts, scale, protective gear, boots, wood to stabilize ladders, 40ft m-5 tubing and surface cleaner handle. Also have window cleaning equipment attached to the side. I pull with my car which holds my ladders, extension handle (14 feet I think) for my brush heads, and chorine. Boy do I need a truck! Hope that Ford employee discount runs next summer!

Classic, I does not fall over, I placed my high pressure hose on the bottom to prevent that problem. I primarily do residential homes and I usually pic a spot on the property as a base to set up all my stuff. I pull my supply hose first which connects to the house and then pull out my high pressure hose. The weight of the high pressure hose on the bottom along with the two pieces of steel that stick off the front have kept it from tipping over. Set-up and break down are a lot easier now. I keep my gun, 2 wands, jumper hose, and ball valve on that cart, m-5 nozzle is in the nozzle holder on my machine. I had to try to minimize my trips to the trailer, because I was making a lot of trips.

M-5 user here...It is my most versitile tool in the box. Drops my pressure to 500PSI so I also us it for wood, if I do wood. If height is a problem attach a wand or stand on a step ladder. It is great for rinsing down flat work after using a surface cleaner and misting plants when washing down. If I had to screw in a nozzle every time I needed a fan shape/lower output I'd go nuts. M-5 a must have for residential cleaning.

I did a house wash this past weekend with some chlorine I did not use from last season; this makes it about nine months old and stored in the garage all winter. It was individual sealed in gallon jugs. I also brought a fresh case with me if the old stuff did not work. To my pleasure the old stuff worked fine and this house was green on a number of sides. The owner said the house looked brand new. So much for worrying about the age of pool shock for me. Did I also mention I love my X-jet!

In popular science there is a spread about Honda's new line of microchip controlled gas engines that could be used with power washers. Said it will sense water pressure and automatically turn on and off. Thought it was kind neat....

Eachochem has a stripper cream and will send you a good sized sample for $56. Pleasant odor, brush or roller application, use on masonary and wood (need to neutralize on wood). I have only done a sample spot, but plan on using to strip a brick front on a house and the bottom level of a 2 family that has clap board and layers of paint. Test spot when through about 5 layers I am guessing on the clap board. By the way that $56 gets you all their stripping products, it's a kit....try the Safe Restore also.

Anyone else pay state sales tax on internet purchases? My account said NJ is cracking down on it. I had to pay about $400 for last year when I had my taxes done.

I use my M5 X-jet for rinsing. It covers a lot of area and is my most versitile nozzle.
