  1. Inside 911

APRIL FOOLS! Jeff and I just said that to get you guys. We'll fire this one back up again this evening...
  2. Inside 911

    Until next time... :) PD
  3. Beth please help

Maybe that's why I didn't get a Christmas card from Rod or Jeff this year...
  4. Beth please help

Well, that explains a lot! Thanks for telling me now... Philip B.S. - Physics.
  5. Inside 911

Actually, it will be quite boring. I'm simply not going to take the time to formulate a response because your perspective is so dislocated from reality that it would take pages and pages to provide an intelligent rebuttal.
  6. Inside 911

Now that's a brilliant response. Did you pick that one up in 3rd grade debate class? Since you know that I didn't received the 100k emails, I assume that you did? Back to reality: No, Jeff I haven't talked to them all. Nor have I based my opinion on anecdotal conversations with 4 people that I know. I have based it on published information about enlistment rates, re-enlistment rates, and AWOL rates. ALL of which show that people are willing to stake their lives on what we are doing in Iraq. Like I said before; They are there on the ground, front and center. For them it is for real, no bullshit, life or death. And they support the war strongly enough to wager their own life. Hence, I pose this question: One man is there risking his own life and believes that the cause is a good one. The other guy is sitting on his couch 6000 miles away and basing his opinions on what gets shown on the evening news. Who should a reasonable person believe about the truth?
  7. Inside 911

Great observation, Jeff. You were right to call BS on me. My statement was patently absurd. No intelligent person could conclude that just because we cannot find UBL that he does not exist. Particularly when we know he was there before we arrived. It's kind of like those pesky WMD's. No reasonable person could conclude that just because we cannot find them that they do not exist. Particularly we knew they once did.
  8. Muffler help needed

Mufflers are tuned to the air flow they will handle. If you put too large of a muffler, it acts more like a section of exhaust pipe than a muffler. I'm not sure what the appropriate muffler is, but it sounds too large...
  9. Inside 911

We haven't been able to find him, so he obviously never existed...
  10. Inside 911

That's your prerogative. While I don't regret my statements, I do regret that you have been offended. Actually, I think you give your fellow PW'ers more credit than they deserve. Many of them are being an a** they just won't say it to your face. I've got a stack of private replies that make mine look like the PG version. That said, I'm not ever going to sit back and let the recently invented facts fly without calling BS. Nor am I going to let someone else use clever words and doublespeak to provide cover for their personal political agenda. If a person stands for something, then by God they should stand up and be accountable for their position. Don't adopt a position and then go find 50 reasons to justify why you have no choice but to take that position. That's how spineless people (and slimy politicans) debate. "I voted for the war before I voted against it" - JK "it's for the children" - HRC "Read my lips [...] a tax increase at this time appears neccessary" - GHWB.
  11. Inside 911

Now that was funny! At least on that thread, you and I would probably be on the same side...
  12. Inside 911

And this is where I have a problem with war opponents saying they *support* the troops. Follow my logic: They (the troops) are there on the ground, front and center. They are seeing it for real, not on CNN. They sleep in the dirt. The bombs they hear do not come from the radio speakers. They don't just know someone who lost a son, they saw, smelled, and tasted a buddy's brains splattered on their clothes. For them it is not a BS session on TGS. It is for real, no bullshit, life or death. 3200 dead is not a statistic, it's their odds a life sized game of russian roulette. AND THEY SUPPORT THE WAR. Strongly enough to wager their OWN LIFE... Now; If they are for the war and you are against it, how exactly are you supporting them?
  13. Inside 911

    Thank God!
  14. Inside 911

Yes, we do. Yes, you do. (your words below) And this is the heart of the matter. You guys just don't like bush and ANY decision he makes is wrong before he has even made it. Bush mistakes according to libs: Pulled out of afghanastan too early Didn't pull out of iraq soon enough. Too many soldiers dying Not enough soldiers in iraq. didn't finish the job already. Too many soldiers in iraq. Didn't nuke 'em all. Too many civilian casualties. Gas prices are too high because of war Bush is wrong to fight for more oil. Bush didn't kill bin laden Bush did kill saddam Gitmo is cruel Not enough intelligence from terrorists. Our men do not have equipment. We spend too much on the war effort.
  15. No by-pass

Tossed all mine and I've had far fewer problems since. Besides, it's a redundant part. An unloader IS a high pressure relief valve.
  16. Inside 911

While I agree that compensation is a factor, dead men cannot plow fields. It takes alot more than a pay raise to get someone to take a bullet and leave the family totally unsupported.
  17. Inside 911

Oh, it was perfectly evident you were against the war all along. It's just that your justification for that position keeps changing post-to-post. Clearly you formed an opinion and then started searching for objections to support it. When your information gets challeged, the topic changes to the next objection. Not wanting to hear contrarian information is "decidedly ignorant". We have all been guilty of that at one time or another. "Blabbering" is when one intellectually staggers about making a continuous stream incongruent and often irrelevant statements. You said that they were being misled. Which implies that the soldiers are incapable of determining the truth for themselves. In contrast, smart people like yourself are perfectly capable of determining the truth. So, while I will grant that you did not literally call them stupid, you made it perfectly clear that they are not as intelligent as you and other enlightened folk. A concept which I (and many others) would have great disagreement with. Perhaps you might try letting people speak in favor of their own lives for a change.
  18. No by-pass

You mean the bypass line got sucked into the intake? Drill a hole in that tank and put a hose barb through the wall. That will never happen again, and you can easily see if the unloader is bypassing by the turbulence in the tank. Just don't let it jet right near the intake or the turbulence can cause air to get sucked in at low water levels.
  19. I've only done a few hundred decks with EFC-38, but I'll hazard a guess that they are not the same ingredients.
  20. Inside 911

You nailed it. With the exception of Rod, the whole world is full of nothing but a bunch of mindless idiots incapable of determining truth from fiction. Thank God they have you to think for them... I can't get it if you didn't say it. Now that you have managed to get it out, I can respect your opinion in that regard. But, if you are against war, then be against war. All the other BS about stupid soldiers, inflated death tolls, etc. just makes you look like another mindless babbling liberal.
  21. No by-pass

Mike is dead on. Water is incompressible and PW pumps are constant volume pumps. That means that if 1qt of water goes in, 1qt must come out somewhere. There are only three holes to choose from: The nozzle, the bypass hose, or the brand new hole it will create. And we are talking seconds, not minutes. If you have no bypass with the gun closed, either you are sucking air or your pump valves are gone.
  22. Inside 911

First and foremost, you are not going to paint me with that no regard for life anti-soldier crap. I don't disregard the life of any soldier. Not one. They given up their families, their liberty, and in many cases their very life so I could have the priviledge of sitting here running my mouth. They bravely took on a job I was too chicken s**t to do myself. Every night when I put my children into bed I say a prayer for the safety every soldier that stands guard over my home and keeps my family from harm. Now there's another gem... Lack of perspective is how the movies make ants appear 40ft tall. And how liberals make low casualty rate look like a slaughter... Perspective IS important. 600/yr in an active combat zone is tiny. That's only 1.7 per day. Compare that with 9.24/day for Vietnam, 33.9 for the Korean War, and 281.5 for WWII. When you comparing Iraq to other conflicts you have to start asking if we're really getting our butts kicked as badly as some people want you to believe. Yes, the means of death is quite different. But the point is not the means of death, but rather the appropriate level of public reaction. 13 times more people die from Advil every year and no one holds a protest or even thinks twice about grabbing the bottle from the pantry. I'll even be willing to bet that before my post you didn't even know (or care) how many died from Advil. On the other hand, a small number of people die from war you don't like and all of a sudden you are screaming and yelling about what a massacre it is. That because your outcry has nothing to do with the soldiers dying and everything to do with the politics. Undesirable consequences do not mean that the action was against your will. Did the loser of a Russian roulette game do so against his will? No. He made a conscious decision that cost him his life. Likewise, if you volunteer for a job that has a high probability of getting you shot or blow up, getting killed is not an involuntary action. It is merely the result of your choices. When rapidly dividing cell masses start driving themselves to the family planning clinic, they you will have a comparable analogy. Until then, it's rather pointless comparing those who volunteer to those who are not yet capable of voicing their opinion. It was however, a nice attempt to divert the argument... As for who drew the line; The line outside the womb was drawn by the "victim". The "victim" who exercised their own free will to drive to the recruiters office. The victim who exercised their own free will to sign the enlistment papers. The victim who boarded a bus to Camp Lejune. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the difference between volunteering for a task that proves fatal and being murdered.
  23. Inside 911

That's a great little sound bite but it leaves out a great deal of perspective. For example: - 3242 US soldiers have died in Iraq since 2002. 7,600 US residents have died from taking Advil and similar OTC drugs (NSAIDS) in the last twelve months.
  24. Inside 911

Not multi quote. Just an edit. 1. The admin did not say there were none, they said none wee found. BIG difference. 2. No, logical people do not assume that because non were found that means none existed. Logical people deduce that none were found and their existence is therefore still in question. For example: many a dope dealers door has been kicked down and no drugs found. Once we clued into where to look (ie. the toilet) we started finding quite a bit. 3. No WMDs = no program is just plain ignorant. That's like saying that MIT doesn't have a synthetic intelligence program because no one has seen a workable product yet. Actually, there is ALOT we can do but that will cost you some inconveinence and discomfort. Can't have that if it's only a few brown people dying... It's pretty sad when your argument is so pitiful and weak that you have to resort to fabricating lies in an pathetic attempt to impugne my credability. But, since you went there: No Jeff, I have NEVER said any such thing. And I challenge you to find ANYWHERE on the web where I have ever made such a ridiculous statement or apologize for saying that I did. Well, I'll grant you that he's not the Condo King, but he does have some notable achievements. For example: GW = the most powerful man on the planet. Must not be as dumb as he wishes you to believe... Actually, I think if you will read (there's a novel idea) you will find that my comments are FAR less one sided than yours. In fact, I can think of several occasions here on TGS where my conservative buddies thought I was nuts for having a liberal position. How many times have you been caught holding a conservative position? None than I can remember... Not then, NOW. Making a big mess of things and running away is chickens**t. Ok, for 4 years now you libs have crucified GW for sending troops to Iraq. NOW, he's an idiot for not sending enough back then?!? The bottom line is you guys do not care what he does, you will change positions once again and say he screwed up. Prove it. Find your posts supporting that statement position. Are you serious? Are there 2 people posting under your ID? Go read your own posts in the last 4-6 months. You and I have ARGUED about you support of a pullout. Yes, much better to have Hillary, or Kerry, or Dean.... Who cares about Kerry? The majority of your democratic party last time we had an election. I'll bet that you even voted FOR Kerry. If it were up to you guys, Kerry would be in charge. And he voted for the war (before he voted against it). You and Kerry and just like the rest of the dems. All for the war on 09/12, but now you hsout over each other as you all claim that you were the only one speaking out against going into Iraq. Speaking of reading, if you would do a little more of it you would find that I'm actually not a Bush supporter or a republican. But, that does not mean that I'm going to sit back and let you spew forth a river of bullshit 3 miles wide w/o saying something about it. Like I said, you keep repeating that BS long enough and you will start to believe it. Philip P.S. Take your free shots. I'm done with this thread. There is absolutely no point engaging in a debate when your opponent just keeps making up crap as they go along.
