  1. Happy Birthday Scott

:bday: Scott Stone :cake: now share it with your kids, don't try and eat it all. Come on in and join the party while the :bandplay: plays HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
  2. Bigger Isn't Better?

JD check with your bank and others about REPO's, talk with dealers too because they want to unload them fast and some go out for bids. Also contact delivery companies as they sell out their old fleet cheap and what about Uhaul? again they sell their old stuff off, sure you will need to paint it but could save a bundle that way.
  3. Hey Alan how many wands, tips and other extra's did you say you had? I ran 150 feet on reel and I believe 200 or 250 spare, hmm Alan how many did you swipe from me? Water feed line was 135 to 150 feet. I used 3/4 true industrial hose, not the stuff you find at HD. Desi one thing you need to keep in mind with pressure hose is that you lose some pressure the longer the hose is but I must confess I forgot the ratio of PSI drop per foot.
  4. Part-Timers....what is your day job?

No part time thing with me here, researched the business for 3 month and asked questions on the boards at the time, back then it was Delco and Dave's bbs. Met up with a nice chap for a couple days and learned what work is all about then came back and went in full time.
  5. stupid laws

Just be sure the airport inspectors do a doulbe check on the suitcases whenever Hillary Clinton arrives since she is very liberal.
  6. A poll for lurkers...

CCPC I was not referring to being a professional writer by using a spell check, just that for those that feel they have poor English or spelling it can help with the right word, sometimes, not always. There are a few whose spelling is bad yet we understand what they are trying to say and that is the main thing here. Are you picking on me because I can read good yet?:lgkeyboar
  7. What my eye doctor has me doing. You might want to take it easy at first, then do it faster as you become more proficient. It may be too strenuous for some. Always consult your doctor before starting any exercise program. SCROLL DOWN... NOW SCROLL UP...... That's enough for the first day. Ok go have some cocoa.
  8. A poll for lurkers...

Hmm, I will be nice here but people can always read the post, open MS Word or Word Perfect, type out what you want to say, run spell check, copy and paste. As for English, my English teacher in college made it clear I would fail if I did not pay more attention and stop sleeping! As for repeat questions that has long been the norm on every board around and those that have shut down. One reason is many either don't use the "search" or they might enter a wrong word not knowing exactly what word to use. Some truly do not know that search can bring up tons of information on a specific subject here. I can understand how many would feel asking questions when they are new or in a slightly different line of work but I have never looked down on anyone asking questions. And for laughs just think about all those that only want to buy a little Home depot pressure washer for their house! Oh yes we get those questions all the time and a lot of them think they can make big bucks using it professionally too. And many Pro's did indeed start out with them, really.
  9. A poll for lurkers...

Reading the questions sort of makes me wonder about those that lurk and more so for those that reply. Do not be afraid of public critisim as no one intentionally puts you down, we only want to help and the reason you feel your being critisized is because you probably did not know the answer to what your seeking, hench you feel foolish. Remember the is no dumb question so ask and learn. Learning, new and studying: Then ask questions or if you feel embarassed send someone Email and ask privately but ASK, we all have been down that road. Anonymous: In other words you feel foolish to show your face because you did not shave of if female have facial hair. Or you're SPYING for another BBS. Try being in my shoes, born 65% deaf, speak funny, sort of going blind and still I am here so what is your excuse? What do you mean you are not sure if you have something to share, everyone has something to share and if you don't share it others will not read it and ask questions to learn more about what you just shared. SO SHARE it! No time to post and barely time to read, then how come your are reading this? Those that answer this question have way to much time on their hands and should be out selling or working, sleeping, cutting the lawn, painting the house, helping the better half do the laundry and dishes and more so don't dare tell me you BARELY have any time on your hands. I bet what ever your hobby is you find all the time in the world to enjoy it so spare some of that time here and POST. "Other" Now I can barely wait to read some of the OTHER EXCUSES here. Did I do ok for a mostly deaf part blind forced into retirement pressure washer? Figured you would say I did so you can too so put those fingers to work and post.
  10. Where in the World??

Sheesh Alan don't I count anymore? I am right smack in the middle of Southern Californina. Walnut, CA.
  11. Smilies and such

Hey guys n gals, Just thought you might want an update direct from me rather then Beth this time although she would normally do it I feel great today and figured why not. I am coming alone well, still really to soon to know final results but today can see better then other days, like if I close my good eye I can make out this page but not able to focus or read, other days a total blur. Doctor gave me the ok to life no more then 10 pounds and said if I want I can drive, yeah right Doc and smash up my truck! I am not ready to even think of driving and put myself, my wife and others in danger, when I can focus and judge distance I might go around the block. There is one side effect to the surgery I had but knew going in that would cause a cataract which has to be removed at some point, once that is done I will know for sure if I have sight back or not but till then blurry is the word for my eyesight. I sure miss pressure washing but that will always be a memory now, I do have idea's if and when I can work again unless I get spoiled by this so called early retirement and it would be in this field too! This is probably what my new glasses will make me look like too. :lgkeyboar Note new email address below, old one still good for now but sometime after new years it will be taken off. walnutcracker@verizon.net
  12. Happy Birthday Ron M!

Ron has birthdays? or sorry friend he does indeed and I hope he stays off the phone and internet today and does something for HIM. Happy birthday buddy.
  13. opinions

For starters I doubt your truck can handle all the weight you're planning on towing once you add it all up. Check the GVW of both the truck and trailer. What kind of brakes does the trailer have, electric or surge, hopefully electric. Now even if your truck could handle the weight go for a larger trailer since you will outgrow that little one in a year, two at most. Remember you will buy more equipment so plan ahead and have that extra room to expand.
  14. Guys n Gals just here to wish all a Happy Thankgiving and to say thanks for all the prayers and other good things thrown my way. I have a ways to go before results are in knowing if the surgery will bring sight back to my left eye or not but I am coping, trying to cope and making adjustments in my life. Not easy since I am not one to sit still let alone lay face down 20 hours a day but try I have. You should see all the bumps on my head from the frying pan Remy keeps hitting me with to knock me out! Anyway must get off but will try and stop by once in a while, to much straight up reading and stuff is a big NO NO so till I pop back in take care and enjoy the Holidays. Jon & Remy Fleischer
  15. Truck questions

Final word, if it moves what your towing and does not break down or require a lot of upkeep then use it till it falls apart. Then go buy a Peterbuilt, they are built to hual anything you have and then some. Never mind the price tag since you want something that can make it up those hiills down though the valley and across the desert and still have all the comforts of home inside right?
  16. How much?

    Buck a stick.
  17. Truck questions

Morgan makes sense now, yes Dodge and Ford are so easy to come by here you can dicker with every dealer for a super deal. I can understand in your area and most midwest areas Chevy is king so would be hard to find one. I would think Chevy would up the production if there is such a demand there for them unless they are keeping it low to up the prices. Someday I will go test one here now that I have time on my hands, or should I say in about 3 month once I can drive again. I will be offline for about that long now as moving day arrives Monday then a week away with wife then the Doctor does his thing. Once I can log on again (doctors orders) I will post my new address, phone and Email here but till then I will keep the one I have open. Take care all. Jon
  18. Truck questions

Morgan explain something to me please since your comment about you can't beat the Duramax diesel, why are Dodge then Ford the choice for RVers? I have yet to see one Chevy duramax towing a 5th wheel or rv trailer down the highway. Not saying it is not a good motor but truly not one Rvers prefer and believe me they do know which is best. Remy and I had a 27 foot 5th wheel and Dodge Cummins did the grunt work, if we were to buy another I would sell the Ford and go back to Dodge. This is not intended as an arguement but as an honest question, why don't they use the Chevy for RV towing?
  19. Truck questions

Lou I think what Scott said about finding a used service vehicle makes good sense in your case, a new paint job and tune up and you got a good truck. Now another way to look at things is which will be more trouble free in the long run, 1500 with weaker tranny or a 2500 with heavy duty tranny. I leave out the engine on purpose since it seems the tranny is the problem on the 1500. In the end it really comes down to what you can afford and which vehicle you feel best driving since any of them will get you from point A to point B.
  20. Truck questions

Ah Tony that was not fair! I won't go to the which is better since I did say we each have our reasons for liking one over another but I will say on Dodge and Ford the 2500 tranny is heavy duty and cannot be compared to the 1500 trannies. I really cannnot speak for Chevy/GMC since I am not a fan of their trucks and have never driven one. Lou if you do enough researching you can find one in your price range/mileage range, search both the Internet and all local papers. How far are you willing to drive, take a bus or fly for one is another thing you might consider. Celeste I had a 97 Dodge 2500 diesel and I am hard on trucks yet never had a problem with the tranny, now the brakes are another story. First 1000 miles a full set under warrantry, 2nd thousand again, all told 5 complete sets of brakes in under 10,000 miles. My 2002 Ford has 54,000 and just replaced brakes for the first time, that speaks highly of the quality of whatever Ford uses for brakes. Now if I can only figure out why the door sounds like it is coming off every time I hit a small bump! To all that drive 1500 trucks regardless of brand, if your going up or down hill take it out of overdrive, and depending on how much weight your towing use 2nd gear as a brake. I know you've all heard it before but figured I would remind you.
  21. Truck questions

Lou get another mechanic, really as Dodge diesel 2500 and 3500 are the most popular for towing RVs, Ford is 2nd and you will be very hard pressed to find any Chevy towing a large RV trailer or 5th wheel. Go for either the Dodge or Ford diesel but be forewarned Ford mileage sucks compared to Dodge. I have a Ford now and best mileage is 13.5 towing or not towing, Dodge Cummins gets 17 plus. You do need at least a 2500 model and if you don't want to spend close to $40 G find a late model low mileage one. I know a few guys here will disagree with me on he Chevy but if you made a poll asking which of those brands they use Ford, then Dodge will win. Diesel is made for towing heavy loads, they require much less maintanence and the cost of fuel is the same as unleaded. Did you find a new mechanic yet?
  22. Things NOT to do while cleaning

    Hey Donald DUCK!
  23. who will be next ??

Guys let me set the record straight here, I did not leave for lack of work, I had good accounts. I am leaving, retiring if you please for health reasons and believe me if that were not the case I would still be cleaning the gum and scum off concrete. I will be coming around here and will always be available for advice but won't be on any computer for about a month or two soon. Still it is sad to see guys throw the towel in and quit and I wish them well in their new venture. I will post my new address, phone numbers and Email address hopefully before I go under the knife but this Email address will be good for awhile.
  24. Pressure!

SPELL CHECK: Try writing what you want here in your MS Word or Word Perfect first then spell check there. Copy and paste and you're done.
  25. A big decision but sad one

Try as you well James he is not going to do that! What he is going to do is find out how out of shape he is chasing his kids around, probably why he has not posted again today!
