  1. Let's talk truck's

The one thing I miss is that humming sound when under a load that Cummins makes. Ford is so darn quiet I can't tell it is diesel. I was advised to turn off OD going up grades and use it as a brake on down grades. I do that with the Ford too.

BEyounger, Some of your wish list can be had, Transfer Flow being the best can install a larger replacement fuel tank as several other places that make them too. There is a place in TX that makes and installs them too, not sure where they are. I love our Captians chairs, would not want bench sets. Noise, what noise? Love the short bed, the Dodge was a long bed but we needed it to tow our 5th wheel with. Want torque, Dodge now has 600 pound torque! What I wanted and here in CA I had to explain to every salesperson what it was was an "idle controler" Scott told me about it and would have come in handy during the summers of 100 plus here when I want to keep the engine running with AC on. Wish I had the filter system for outside air, would remove the smell of smog and other stuff. What is climatrol for the a.c.? I have given thought to a larger replacement fuel tank, I mean 29 gallons does not last long. Andy you can drive with OD on with no harm on level or almost level roads, when going up hills always turn off, that is standard rule for all Ford and Dodge. (not a Chevy fan so who cares!) I wish the back seat was wider! easier to sleep on when taking short naps. Hey Scott how often do you roll off yours?

Scott in answer to your remark about smokin wacky tabbco and surfer days, well all I can say is THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIEND!. Just having fun with another guy with a few grey hairs! Besides Dave has to ask his wife for permission to drive it anyway, it is her toy and a nice one too! You guys mention Ford diesel as noisy, I find that to be wrong, Dodge is yes and from the inside too, my Ford is very quiet inside and not because of my hearing or lack of it either, I can tell the difference. Doubt me ask Remy she can too!

Hey Dave you can keep that Suburban, just mail the keys to the TOY to me and I will fly out and drive it back here! Oh almost forgot to ask you to sign the title off to me please. Jon

ROFLMAO, Really now a Chevy, ah that's right, down on the farm those horses were watching one with all 4 wheels turning that horse trailer around. Funny thing is there were no horses inside the trailer! I hear the Chevy diesel is not a worthy engine for long term power work as Ford and Dodge. Ever seen a Chevy pulling a 5th wheel or travel trailer down the highway?

Scott if I were to ever buy a USED vehicle it would have to have low milage as yours did and full factory warranty with extended offered at the NEW price. By the way most extended warranties now cost a few thousand vs several hundred when I got mine. Another thing I would make sure of is all recalls and updates are done before I drove the vehicle off the dealers lot, that way you hopefully have little worry later. Sorry to hear about your wife's tranny, ops I mean her Ford Excursions tranny, I did not think she was that hard a driver! One Call, Are they gas or diesel? either way you need to have the dealer run a milage test on them, you should be getting much better milage then that. Unless you jack rabbit start every time. I notice no one has Chevy diesels but then again they are not proven enough as a work truck the way most of us use them. One thing about being treated nice or bad, Dodge and Ford are equal, customer service stinks. I have been at it with Ford from day one with this truck, it is a SHORT bed and off the production line some idiot coded it LONG BED so the VIN is coded LONG BED. Pictures have been taken, District Manager has said Ford will correct the problem and it will take about 3 month, hmm, That was 2 years ago, I have talked with him a few times and reminded him about what he said. So I can relate to your rude treatment, Ford is sloooooooowwwwwwwwww.
  8. Let's talk truck's

Scott explain your remarkbecause we all know tha Ford's were best, until last weekend. That asked I I always buy new, sure I lose about 3 grand driving it off the dealers lot but I get no other person headaches. I buy diesel because retail value, longer life, less maintance, there is no savings on cost of fuel like years gone by. I also buy 3/4 ton and optioned if by that Scott means power windows, seats and other extra's but no leather seats. Truck serves two purposes, personal vehicle and work vehicle. Before this 2002 F250 I owned a Dodge 250 diesel, much better milage compared to Ford but brakes sucked, first 1000 miles warranty replaced all 4 completly, again around 5000, and a couple more times, they refused to admit they had problems yet they keep replacing total braking package. Now if only you could take the older Dodge mechanical diesel and put it in the new Ford you would have a perfect package. The new ford diesel and tranny are not proven, have heard of may problems with them. Average milage: 2002 Ford towing or not 13.5 mpg. 1997 Dodge towing 17 to 19 mpg. Not towing 22 mpg.

YIKES I never knew Alan was an ALIEN! Everytime I meet him he looked perfectly normal.
  10. Amazing pictures

Thanks Mike:D I was really just kidding around but here they would look at it that way for sure. The pictures are really cool.
  11. Roundtable Meetings- February 2004

One reason for different dates is PWNA in Dallas falls on the Round Table weekend. That and scheduling for those of us that work nights. If I am up all night Friday would you expect me to go home, clean up, drive 2 hours and stay up cheerfully meeting and talking to others. I would sleep drive and be moody! Perhaps the time to plan dates and meeting places for the next one is NOW, not a month or two before it happens. Major events are planned 1 and 2 years in advanced just like PWNA conventions are.
  12. Roundtable Meetings- February 2004

Closer then Redlands is, I will be driving close to or a bit more then 100 miles according to those funny driving instructions on the internet. Robert we would love to have him attend the Round Table meeting so please have him contact Alan. I will have my rig there as well as Alan having his so there will be a way to demo it if he wants to. And when you are here in Dec. even though San Jaun Capistrano is about an hour and half from me we might be able to get together then too.
  13. Roundtable Meetings- February 2004

Now there you go again Alan speaking before I know what the deal is going to be:) Do I understand he donates the Bad Boy or is there some sort of greenbacks involved here?
  14. Roundtable Meetings- February 2004

I will unveil new Bad Boy 30" to the world Robert to do that you need to fly out here yourself and bring one with you, remember California sets the standards for the world. So Alan and I can expect to meet you soon, right?
  15. Florida is Ready for 2004

You guys think you have it bad, try dealing with a bunch of crooked politicans in CA. I mean they are getting caught and tried in court left and right, plea bargain out and still are allowed to finish up their term. Just to be able to collect their bloated pensions. Then we have to have those new voting machines, I don't trust them since they can and probably will be rigged. I WANT MY CHAD voting card back. Seriously I don't trust the new machines and have considered never voting again if they don't give us a choice. CA has had chad voting, the same as Florida for more years then I can recall and not once have we had a problem. Progress means going backwards. We don't blame all you Floridians, just half of you;)
  16. Powerwashing Union question

Read MOB here, not every job is a union job, not every union wants all people to join, our business is mostly small one many companies, not enough for the unions to make money from. The few large pressure washing companies probably would not join a union either since the first thing any union does is say PAY RAISE or STRIKE. And like Ron said you do belong to a UNION, did they say you had to belong to a certain union or just any union?
  17. Just wanted to stop in

A chip off the old block! Now be honest Chuck, would you really want him TAME all the time? HOLD IT, before you answer that think back to when you were a little tyke:D I bet your parents said wow is Chuckie wild, at times he is just to much for me to handle! Nice seeing you back too, come around more often, only takes a few minutes to check in here.
  18. Heroes

Very interesting, long but good. To bad there is no way to reach the guy that made it.
  19. Come to think of it when you have it serviced have the tranny fluid and rear end replaced with synthetic. I use Delo oil but if we start talking what is best oil there will never be an end to it.
  20. Tell me again, why I am fired?

I've seen a train with an oversized load dump its load at a tunnel a century ago when I was consulting for P&G. Anyone doubt now just how OLD Paul B. is? Read what he said above in BOLD, key word CENTURY. Ok Paul wiggle out of this one now.
  21. Interior mobile home washing

Alan all kidding aside where is it, above Santa Barbara or northeast of it?
  22. Interior mobile home washing

Alan you did not tell me you lived way out there, how am I ever going to find your place with no road signs? Well post those before and after pictures already.
  23. I change my oil and fliter every 5000 miles, the dealer said that is ok but not to go longer. Very little maintanece on diesles and you will love it, noise and all. Chanage the fuel filter once a month if you do a lot of driving in dusty area or pull a trailer often, or you can go 2 month with it. I change my air filter monthly, fuel filter monthly too. I buy all my filters from my local Fram distributor and that includes filters for my equipment also.
  24. POP UPS on the Grime scene!

Ad-Aware Pro is what I use and it works to good at times. Pop up and spam, most annoying things to ever happen to the Internet and they won't go away no matter how many laws are passed.
  25. Amazing pictures

So what happens when the city pressure washes the sidewalk, does it go away? hmm EPA that paint going down the stormdrain by the city is a violation, fine them!
