  1. Try local hydralic hose stores, they should have everything you need. Jon
  2. Reclaiming Water

Extreme that is not possible, each city has it's own rules and meter department to read how much water you use. If I take from another city and/or am asked to see my permit for THEIR city I would be in trouble since I don't have one. Years ago things called business licenses were issued by county and were good thoughout that county, now each city requires you to have one. Same with water meters. You pay to use, you pay to rent. You can buy a meter and mount it on your rig, that is easy but for what purpose, to keep track of how much water you use or to use a hydrant? If to use a hydrant your asking for trouble. Jon
  3. Profitable?

Tony your silly, meet me in Vegas for a drink, on me, Water! Truthfully I doubt there is enough to spong up if done right. I have not done any, still looking into it but did take my squeeze and do a few free wipe downs after rinsing jobs. Need new squeeze or more practice, or both. Jon
  4. Reclaiming Water

I do! I have a water meter and backflow device installed on my rig, required by city, mine is more semi-permanate rather then like a contractor who take it out for jobs then return when done. I go in every 3 month for a reading and get billed either $1.00 a day or if I use more units of water then that the amount of water. So far have not gone over the $1.00 a day. Don't need a cop but any city employee can stop and ask to see my permit, heaven forbid I don't have it with me, I will see a cop then for stealing water and even see some BARS, and yes I have been asked a few times, most know me well now so drive by and wave. Jon

    I'll be there:)
  7. Casters

I don't use the Fury system, I use the Vacuboom and a regular surface cleaner. From what I hear all those extra hoses slow you down, cannot say for sure as never tested one but would be nice, your looking at around $10,000 or up for the Fury. Also never used a surface cleaner with 4 casters or a hover type. I like the Whisper Wash Big Guy and also the Steel Eagle 24in. They both have pluses and minus to them. A plus for Big Guy, it is higher off the ground so can do the driveways without the spinner bar hitting it, Steel Eagle is much lower and it scrapes if on even the slightest incline/decline. How I use the Vacuboom, lower point where water runs off is where it vac pickup tube(s) are setup. Pumps to reclaim tank, though the filters then back to 135 gallon tank to be reused. Back to casters, lately I have been reading a lot of people having problems with them, my Big Guy took 4 plus years of abuse and never had one problem with the front caster. Jon
  8. Reclaiming Water

Joel, two very different words here, reclaim and recapture. Careful how you use them, just like waste water and recyled water. I reuse the water as first cleaning, it goes though the reclaim filters and back to my tank, one of them anyway, it looks dirty and is to a point, all the petroleum stuff is out but not all the regular dirt. I use clean "fresh" water for final rinse. Here in CA. the rules for waste water suck, each job must be dumped before going to another, say you have 2 gas stations across from each other, you do one, take that captured water to a certified dump station and dump, then back to the other job. They claim every job, even if exact same businesses must not be mixed claiming different continements might be in the water. Now for recaptured water a permit to haul on public street, a permit to dump a permits mean $$. If you reclaim, clean and reuse no permits needed. Now you can make your own system, I am not the one to help much here but there are guys who have done it. I believe the simplest ones use a 55 gallon drum, some old bed sheets, sump pump and all other stuff to pump in and pump or drain out. Cost to buy a unit range from a few thousand up to over $85,000, not kidding I have seen some being built on triple axle trailers, MONSTER rigs too. Remeber each city has different ways of interpreting the rules.
  9. Profitable?

No storm windows here, no french at restaurants and department stores, or none I have come across yet. Think I will give it a shot since I am there already so no extra driving time involved. Thanks for the help guys and gals. Jon
  10. Reclaiming Water

Go below and enjoy searching and reading. Just remember all states have to follow the USA/EPA laws and do their part to help. What type of pressure washing do you plan to do? gas stations, car dealers and other places with grease and oil? if so there is no and if or butts, you reclaim. http://www.mde.state.md.us/Water/index.asp http://www.epa.gov/ http://www.mde.state.md.us/ Jon
  11. With me that is not possible gal, I know you to well:D Just make sure that they start slow, better to take their time then rush through a job to see how fast they can do it. Speed comes with experience. Jon
  12. Kristina so you have not work up yet complelely, little baby keep you up most the night? :) And yes guys, she does ask questions so she in turn can teach the man in her life. She learns, she burns and she will work the guys till they sweat greenbacks to put in her purse! Jon
  13. House washing

Kristina a suggestion if not already done, use relatives homes and offer to clean them free for the experience and practic. Have a sit down talk with the guys and make sure they both understand well all what is being said here, I am not into cleaning homes but I do know from reading you need to know before what it is your cleaning. With the truck wash chemical you will dilute it more, read the mix formula and err on the side of caution, mix weak and add till you get it where it does the job. Jon
  14. Looking Good!

Kristina feel free to post one of your little baby too! And Welcome to the board. Jon
  15. Recent Job

Now that is a house I would like to live in. Nice work Chuck, you mention no drain in basement, why would they not install a drain or pump in that part of the country? Jon
  16. Chuck she is asking an open question for her hubby and father in law who are just starting out, brand new NEWBIE's. She does the books, calls, scheduling, ordering etc. Any information for her helps all of them. Jon
  17. Got it now, your basically draining your pump and re-priming it later. Sounds faster then adding anti-freeze each time. Anyone else have tricks they would like to share? Jon
  18. Chuck how about explaining how you made it and use it so others will understand better. Not having to worry about freezing weather here except a couple times a year I don't put anti freeze in my pump. Jon
  19. Come on in!

Beth you did a good job here, hope you have a stockpile of logs for the fireplace:) Jon
