  1. And I choose to relocate to Albuquerque NM.

What lovely pictures, that first one makes me want to pull up and move back there.

Granted never lived in a 4 season state, heck never lived anyplace but CA. except for one year at Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side.

Suppose to be 4 seasons here so can't wait to see the changes. Moved to late for fall change.

I can picture you now with your vacuum sucking up that colored snow and setting an example to all other PWers in your area, your a good man.

    Do post some pictures please!

  3. Lemon laws vary state to state so check yours out before you got back.

    VERY IMPORTANT:

For any vehicle going in for any warranty problem, always and I STRESS ALWAYS take your paper work from before in and ALWAYS READ WHAT THEY PUT DOWN AS THE PROBLEM.

I SAY THIS AS THE LAW OF WORDS PLAYS HERE, IF IT IS NOT WORDED THE SAME THEN IT IS NOT THE SAME PROBLEM YOU ARE TAKING IT IN FOR.

Dealers know this and even though you take your vehicle in for say a faulty X line, they write it up that way and fix it. Six month go by and it goes bad again, you take it back and they write it up saying check Y lines for leaks or some other words.

They got you there, see they did not say FAULTY X LINES so you are not gettting the same thing checked.

Trust me as I went though this with my Dodge brakes, the second time I took it back at about 2000 miles they wrote something else down, I read it and said that is NOT what the problem is, it is the same as it was at 1000 miles, BRAKES and showed him the other paper insisting he put it down the same way.

Read your owners book and the lemon law book that came with it, someplace in there it will say something like SAME PROBLEM x number of times they have to offer you your money back or a new vehicle or something like that.

Again key word is same problem and to prove that your work/repair/warranty order has to show it is the same thing each and every time.

I would venture a guess none do, all say things that might sound or read close to the problem but to them it is not the same problem.

The manufacturers are to blame for this, not the dealers, they are told to do that.

Ask your insider at Dodge and see if he is willing to admit it. Bet he says I have no idea what your talking about or some other evasive reply.

Remember if it is mechanical or electronical it is going to go bad, this is not the 20's, 30s and 40s where things were made to last.

Anyone recall a car battery that would last forever?

Look at how many cars from those years are still running on all original equipment, model A's as an example.

  4. Keep this in mind about trucks when buying your next one.

3/4 & 1 ton trucks are built different then 1/2 ton truck.

Tranmissions, brakes, rear ends and suspension are bigger and have stronger and more gearing, why they are called Heavy or Super duty.

The whole truck is made for heavy duty work, not towing your boat around in.

Add to that a diesel and you can see why Dodge and Ford rank high on the list of trouble free WORK TRUCKS.

You really cannot compare a Super Duty diesel to the lowly 1/2 ton v8.

Not going to say Chevy is or is not a good truck, referring to the diesel but I can assure you if you do this test you will see why Ford and Dodge lead the pack of RVers.

While your driving the highway look around at all the travel trailers being towed and 5th wheels being pulled, most are Ford and Dodge 3/4 doing all that towing & pulling. Even dully's which are always 1 ton or higher.

Seldom will you see a Chevy towing a travel trailer or 5th wheel. And for sure none of the longer over 30 footers.

Before buying your next truck list all you will tow with it, not just equipment but total weight then compare what trucks can handle the job.

I say pay more for a WORK TRUCK and be happy instead of trying to save in the short run then end up with so much trouble.

Scott Stone has showed this to you, notice all his vehicles but one are Ford Diesel, that speaks pretty loud about quailty and what you can expect from a truck made to do the job.

  5. John T. I know exactly how hard you work on your main job! I think they should put in an excercise machine to keep you busy during the slow periods. :lgsideway

Taxes, funny thing about them, why if a house cost less are the taxes more and when a house cost more the taxes are less?

Our new home in So. CA would probably cost and this is a pretty educated guess since we looked at every home builder there but would cost one million plus and the taxed would be less.

Insurance here is less both car and home, car licenses are half and for two years, drivers licenses are almost free and good for 4 or 8 years, our choice not the state.

Now back to JEFF, have fun choosing tile floor, carpets, style of cabinets and all other things. Just don't let the wife top you on everything, just somethings!

  6. We just moved into our large home, 2376 sq ft plus 3 car garage, wanted the 2423 home but was not going to be ready for a few month.

Heating bill, hush, electric bill, hush again. Taxes are more then in CA but cost of new house was less then half and size twice as big.

Not counting the fact the whole house has upgrades from 2 to 5 levels up.

Don't even think of asking me the cost unless you want to make a payment for us.

We are changing our names from Jon and Remy to Bonnie and Clyde :)

  7. Not offended, in todays world or at least here in the USA that darn word "polictical correctness" should be OUTLAWED, it is the worst word I can think of and to me has NO MEANING.

Just like the word "CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE" to me that means one thing LAW BREAKERS and those that practice it should be jailed and left there.

Ok enough of my personal views.

Season Greetings n Happy holidays. Those two sayings cover every religion and are not offensive.

Mike I was kidding with you by the way, was not picking on you.

  8. Guys if you have the problem Alan does go buy a pair of um, shoot can't think of the name now but used to use them when back-packing in winter snow or sand during summer to keep snow and sand out of the boots.

They cover the boot/ankle and work wonders.

  9. I'm SHOCKED, seems you knew all about those TSB and never printed them to take to the dealer asking them to FIX those problems. That is not their problem and I am not trying to start a flame on you but it is the owners responsibilty to know those things and/or ask the dealer about known repair/updates.

Now I hope you have not been towing a big rig with that small truck, Dodge makes a super truck as does Ford for working with, diesel is best but even a V8 but a little Durango, never.

Or is this Durango like a standard SUV, either way not made as a work vehicle.

When I had my Dodge 250 it never had a problem, my Ford Super Duty never has a problem and I pulled 12,000 GVW fully loaded, at times a bit over loaded up hills. Sure both had diesels and that makes a difference.

Now I would never own a Chevy truck for pleasure or work but that is me, I don't like them.

Trade that in for a 250 3/4 ton truck, Ford or Dodge and take care of it and you will never have a problem.

As for those TSB I would stick them in the service managers face and say you failed to mention these to me and now look at my broken truck.

remember TSB are NOT RECALLS, they are to inform the dealers of certain POSSIBLE problems to call it to their attention, a dealer can chose to fix the TSB free or charge the customer.

  10. Jeff I told you to keep your pants ZIPPED, now look what you done!

    Congrats to both of you.

Hey if it is a girl don't worry about buying a gun as she won't like her Daddy out of sight for one and for two you will end up spoiling her rotten.

Little girls are always special to Daddy.

  11. Scott I did not to make it sound like your were picking on Everett or anyone, just that I am the kind of guy that has no enemies, I hate no one, now I do not have to like someone either but I don't hate them.

How's that for a "what did you say again" sentence.

Just because people are friends does not mean they agree on everything, it just means they see many things the same way, like many of the same things etc.

    Rod very well said,

I suggest we approach relations with an open mind, less judgment and more willingness to be friends first.

  12. I'm sure this will be edited or pulled because it's not on the PC side of the fence, but it's just me.......MR. UNPROFESSIONAL.

Your post was not degoratory in anyway, you simply stated what was printed in newsletter to members of PWNA. If I were to edit anything it would be how your signed off. You are NOT unprofessional Scott and we all know that.

I have been (was) a member for many years and have seen the good and bad of it like any other ORG.

For whatever reasons most pressure washers just do not feel an ORG will benefit them and that is sad as every profession needs to have an ORG and PWNA is the one for pressure washers.

Not saying everyone should write a check and join but I am saying do not close your mind to it.

I will not get personal about Everett or any member or BOD as I consider all of them friends.

Still each has his or her own mind and will say what they think is right, not saying it is right or wrong here.

  13. Beth if you think it is weird how do you think it feels to me.

I mean I gave up SUNNY WARM DAYS so I could freeze my butt off daily now.

And I enjoy it some, less people, less traffic, no wall to wall cities etc.

Sure it is not to be compared to a big city but that is ok as I don't need the stress anymore.

Hmm I think Ken of Pressure Pro is going to say I am showing my age again!

Those young ones are sure JEALOUS.

  14. What are you planning on cleaning?

If decks fine but if concrete you should not consider anything less then 5 GPM and 3000 PSI, remember the flow is as or more important then the PSI but if I were to start again I would go with around 8 GPM and 3500 to 4000 PSI.

Hot water is a must too.

Now as for that 1000 gallon tank, tell the salesperson to stuff it.

Unless none of your accounts have water you could work with a 50 gallon tank but I would suggest 220 to 400. I used two 220 gallon tanks, one for fresh water and one for reclaim and plumbed them so I could switch from one to the other. I had locations that had no water so had to use both tanks and it was all uphill.

You would need a Dodge or Ford diesel to hual that much weight around and for sure pulling up a grade.

You did not mention a trailer but be sure it has more then enough room to expand and that the axle rating is more then the total weight you plan to put on it. Think BIG when it comes to trailers, if you only need an 8 foot one get 10 or 12 as I can assure you in one to two years you will trade up if you don't.

You need room for all your hoses, spare parts, surface cleaner and other things.

Shop around, ask around, look at others rigs etc.

GUYS POST PICTURES OF YOUR RIGS here.

  15. Washaway why not just get that darn bottle opened and and ice to it and finish it off, no wait make me a Tequila Sunrise first:)

Pressure Pro your lazy side is showing lately, besides the wife might not let you back in once you're sent back to the market so keep that blanket in the truck!

Beth any cookies you make I must have samples sent, I shall Email you our home address.

Guys n gals I used to love baking from scratch and had lots of recpts, all packed away in one of the many unpacked boxes, most are from my late Grandfather who owned a bakery back in the days all things were made from scratch.

For most of you that is long before you were born!

    Season Greetings all.

Eat, drink and be merry but stay sober.

  16. Pressure Pro, age is only a number & does not make the person. Besides I just happen to be a Mature Adult!

Kem what Pressure Pro said in his last post stands well.

Here is how I used to do bids, or for major stores and businesses more then the one time little guy.

When I typed my bid and was ready to hand it over it included a copy of my business license and certificate of insurance.

One way to instill in customers they are getting a good business deal is ask them if the other lower bid can show you a copy of his business license and proof of insurance on the spot. The law requires you have that with you if your mobil.

Go into any business, be it McD or Red Robin and they by law have to have that info posted and you are allowed to ask to see it.

Very few if any MISFITS will have either, sure some are legal and just like to cut prices so they can claim they are bigger then you but the quality of work is not equal and it will show up fast.

Another thing you can do is offer a free demo, either a small area or a whole job.

Offer a free job if they give you x number of month on contract with a none-cancel agreement or they pay.

  17. Y'all knows I'm no Southern'er but I do have a lot of Southern Wisdom to share with you. (ok so I am quoting from a book, person quoted follows each quote)

Let your tounge speak what your heart thinks. Davy Crockett.

When in doubt, tell the truth. Mark Twain.

I would rather be right then President. Henry Clay.

Have you called your Momma today? I sure wish I could call mine. Bear Bryant.

If I ever get back to Georgia, I'm gonna nail my feet to the ground. Lewis Gizzard.

A little rebellion now and then is a good thing. Thomas Jefferson.

    --------------

All qoutes from a book called The book of Southern Wisdom.

  18. Morgan I am aware that not only this child but your others too have medical problems but you are strong and so are they, time heals and helps those that need it most.

Give her the time she needs, give her all the spare love you can and allow the doctors to do what they do best and she will surprise you in many ways.

    Jon

  19. Looks like I have to find a small shack (no offense Alan) to live in out in the Palm Springs area and get back into the business so I can teach Craig a few tricks of the trade, like how to charge more and make it look like your charging less!

Jesse so now we know who you really ARE LOL.

    Cute letter.

  20. "I would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever,"]

Someone needs to tell her at this late stage of her life that there are only two things guaranted:

1: If your born, hatched or whatever

    2: You will die.

By the way how in heck did she ever become Miss America? Please don't tell me by looks only, oh wait must be judgind by her remark.
