  1. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on our mistakes so it may never happen to anyone else .Today we were cleaning the gutters on a very old house . The Roof was black painted steel and heavily oxidated to the point it was almost grey . The gutters were some of the worst I have ever seen . In our pursuit to do a perfect job we sprayed and scrubed over and over . All the while during rinse the soap flew from the gutters and got on the HOT painted roof and dried very quickly. After drying it turned to a chalk white color and looked a lot worse than a streaked gutter . After several high pressure rinses with a automotive detergant we were able to make it look better but not perfect . Metal roofs are the going thing around here now and as they age this will become a bigger problem .Our only solution is to have someone with a water hose spraying on the roof until the final pass is made . Hope this helps someone , it cost us a lot of time and was preventable if we had only known . We have been in the business for 15 years and our experiance and solutions to cleaning problems are respected , misteps like this can quickly ruin anybodys reputation .
