  1. Stucco cleaning

What would everybody use on a stucco building? I tried simple green, krud cutter and a half-assed mixture of KD100. Is KD100 any good? I have a section of wall that is 200ft long by about 30ft high. I have read about the XJet, would this be good in this situation? And I'm still am a little unclear about what downstreaming is exactely? I just recently purchased a Mi-T-M 3405 hot water machine, did I make a good decision?
  2. Expansion Joint Replacement

I've been asked to do it before. I turned it down because I wasn't too sure on how to do it. If it's what I'm thinking about you make up a liquid mix and pour it into the breaks between the concrete pads?
  3. 12.5 in southern NJ?

Does anyone know where I can get some 12.5% in south Jersey? I have called a couple of pool companies but they want to charge me $5.00 a gallon,
  4. 12.5 in southern NJ?

yea, but you live in CT? you buy it locally?
  5. 12.5 in southern NJ?

I found a pool place that will sell it to me for 16.99 a five plus tax. After reading your post I'm assuming that's a good number?
  6. 12.5 in southern NJ?

I told them I wanted to buy at least 30 gallons, so I was hoping to get a quantity discount. Maybe 30 gallons isn't a large amount to them?
  7. Commercial Work

I don't know if anyone will comment on this but I thought I would give it a shot anyway. I have noticed that a few of the local strip malls don't really have anyone clean their sidewalks or storefronts. So my question is, how would I go about approaching them in order to obtain their business? I don't want to go in with an outrageous number that they never consider me or a number so low I don't make any money. I guess I'm just looking for a little insight on what to charge or how I should go about figuring what to charge. thanks mike
  8. What size pump can I run off a 13hp motor? I called the manufacturer and they told me that what I had was the largest I could run. I've seen bigger pumps on the same motor? I'd like to put at least a 4 gpm pump on? Any insight on this would be great. It has an AR pump right now. thanks mike
  9. Stucco cleaning

is it normal wet areas multiple times if the mold/mildew doesn't come out? or does it mean I'm just not using the right mixture?
  10. 3.5 vs 4.0

I have a 3.5 gpm machine. Is that a big disadvantage to me? All the threads I have been reading keep talking about a 4 gpm machine is necessary. My last machine was a 2.8 gpm, so this is upgrade for me. I used that machine for 5 years, but basically to "wash" down homes before they were painted. I wanted to move up to something that would provide more power and volume. I was looking to open myself up to other oppurtunities with this new machine. I hope I didn't make my decision to quickly, it is a hot water machine though.? mike
  11. 3.5 vs 4.0

I have enough paint sprayers. I'm looking to expand my business into pressure washing. Just trying to figure out how far I can go with this machine. My prospects look pretty bleak, not that this is a bad machine. Hopefully in time, I'm going to invest in a skid mounted hot water machine that can mount to my trailer. I appreciate all the help. Especially Russ, thanks for all the info but I'm sorry you talked me out of getting a new pump. Haha. mike
  12. what size pump can I run?

where do i look to get a replacement pump?
  13. what size pump can I run?

what would be my benefits of running 5.6@2500? or the disadvantages?
  14. gutter zap

my .02. I tried simple green today on my neighbors gutters. it works, but it takes a lot of effort to remove the stripes. A LOT OF EFFORT. and i gave up after about 10 minutes, i only got about 8ft and you could still see them. it was definitely cleaner then the rest. but not good enough
  15. 3.5 vs 4.0

when you say flatwork, what are you referring too? a house that big would take me a few hours. lets say I replaced the pump, would my motor be able to push more than 4gpm? it a 13 hp honda.
  16. I was wondering what type of hose connects everyone uses? When I bought some new hose they sent me "twist couplers". I'm used to using quick connects. The guy said one of the benefits would be that there isn't as much to go wrong with the "twist coupler". So I believed him, now I'm doubting that decision.
  17. quick connect or twist connect

sorry. It's for the pressure hose. instead of pulling back the collar and slipping two hoses together you would "screw" them together.
  18. Stucco cleaning

whoops, I guess that shows just how wet behind the ears I am when it comes to pw'ing. I took a better look at my machine and the injector is after the pump before the heater coils. Can I use something like bleach and dish soap to clean the stucco? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Stucco cleaning

that was a lot of reading. the way I see it is that downstreaming uses my current injector setup but instead of using a soap tip i would use an 0030(just as an example) tip, which is a 0 degree tip with a much much larger orafice? and this would bring the chemical through my pump and my heating coil, is that right? the x-5 is a "tip" that goes on the end of the wand, it has a hose that you put into a bucket and from the water rushing over the tube into the bucket it creates a suction therfore injecting the chemical right at the tip.? Now my other question, if I have this figured out is: When downstreaming do I put the tube directly into the bucket with the chemical? Or do I put my chemical/mix into a 5 gal bucket(thats all I have right now) with a proportionate amount of water and suck from that? I used to help a guy out who would put clorox bleach into a 5 gallon bucket and just pull right from that. Is this a good practice? It would clean but sometimes certain windows would turn brown? He called them browners? Is this a common problem?

I'm not sure what EIFS is. I'm pretty sure its stucco. But I could be wrong. I don't have any pics right now. I've washed most of the building off a lift and step ladders. This wall is in an area where I can't get a lift in and its straight up (almost).
