That's true Scott that would probally work but my worry is all the old existing paint getting in the water.I'll have to have the H.O check with the HOA and see what's allowed by the water. We have to submit all the products used on the project anyway before i start anything. P.S ya'll Diamond Backs are kickign some Cub A$$ -

I know what you mean Christian i would normally run from this type of job and it's gonna be the first "sniff sniff " deck I'm gonna "paint". It goes soo much agianst my morals with wood . #1 she such a nice lady that called me months ago before they closed on the house. She even put my bid in her escrow when buying the house. I'm gonna get her to pay the materials and I'll make some labor. It's pretty easy and square so a little masking tape then roll it on or brush the few tough areas. How hard can panting be huh ?? There are tons of painters! "no offense painters" -

That was my first thought too John but it's a little more work than i have labor right now.I know what you mean tho all i would have to deal with are the joist marks. -

after sealing questions
seymore replied to hoosierwindowtek's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
It may have been over application but if the deck stays oily for more than 2-4 days. You might have to wipe off the excess oil with a rag and mineral spirits? -
Woodies - measuring question
seymore replied to PressurePros's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I know what you mean it's tough to estimate sqft without some kind of drawing or pics. Ok i was wanting to ask you some Q's on a peeling painted deck. -
Woodies - measuring question

I would ask for a pic along with measurements. 3 tiered does that mean 12x16 x 3? how many post how many beams etc? -
What is most important in a deck restoration
seymore replied to PressurePros's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Well the thread comes up when people vote on the Poll. Our wood restoration company has been around since 92 and it's mostly been 3 emplyoees at the most when i can keep the help.Wood Savers of Texas was built using the Gray Away exclusive from day 1 and that's how refferal customers have come to know us by.I think if your work and your product is consistant your work will be non stop.We haven't had to advertise in years with all the repeat biz! -
I think that's Dustin??

Cleaning a restuarant deck
seymore replied to cwarrior's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I agree i wouldn't stain that deck with a oil base stain where you risk any slip n fall accidents. -

You can try Sherwin Williams deck cleaner that i have used before it's a lil pricey but worked. It really doesn't matter which S/H cleaner you use just as long as it has the S/H chem in it. Then use a brightner again it won't matter which one you use since the deck is only grey and you're not stripping a old stain off. -
Cleaning a restuarant deck
seymore replied to cwarrior's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Well that was my first thought was a S/H cleaner but i was trying to make it easy on him by using bleach and lots of soap. He could use a light mix of F-18 and a brightner after. -

You can use a light bleach and soap mixture let it dwell and rinse. -

What's wrong with this guy ? ....
seymore replied to quickestimate's question in Residential Pressure Washing
NEVER my prices are what they are! I'm not gonna bargain prices but i will be fair and honest depending on the work to be done. I don't really care what other people charge but if they tell me i'll listen but i'm not gonna lose any sleep over prices. -

That bites Jarrod i don't really come up against too many lowballers but i guess that's where refferals help.I will never EVER lower my price to compete against them for a job NEVER! I've lost a few jobs for being priced to high but I still got a call from the H.O the next year to clean up their mess. -

New Pressure Treated Wood
seymore replied to tigerzak's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Well you you can question it all you want but it's been our process for the last 15 years and still going strong. We have more repeat biz than new biz so our process must be working huh ? Why are my decks lasting 2 years or sometimes longer? I have cedar houses holding up over 7-8 years or my arbors, fences 4-5 years! Why do the stain company's have right on the label to clean new and old wood with bleach/soap and no mention of acid? -
