  1. Thanks Greg  They are still in a little 1K shock to strip and stain a 700 sqft deck so the minor repairs are not a priority right not. They just gonna probally just fill up with mulch around the deck anyway. This is the cam i'm using....
  2. Olympic Stain

Good job Jeff  That's a pressure treated deck right? Did you mean Olympic "cedar toned" on a PT deck in post#11?
  3. My 5gal buckets...labled stripper ....Acid that's pretty generic but i'm not worried about H.O's knowing what my chems are. There are some guys that have watched me but got in my way. Most are in awe when i'm done and usually say there is no way i could have done that! My oxalic mix will usually remove the rust stains some mixtures just need to be stronger.
  4. Fuzzies on Cedar Poll

A good Echo blower does the trick for me.
  5. Fuzzies on Cedar Poll

Are those cedar or PT spindles? You still sand rough sawn cedar spindles if fuzzy?
  6. I sell a good Gray Away Clear Tom just as good as the pigmented stains but no pigment.
  7. Nice job Greg  but i still wouldn't let them choose the stain! If you do no warranty from your labor atleast if you still use what they choose.
  8. I'm not sure who sells RS in Houston but i sell the Gray Away for 92.5+ tax/5'er to contractors.
  9. Exactly and it's easy to lose your BUTT on all that joist surface area!
  10. I am figuring the surface area x 2 + sqft of joist cause .5 doesn't add up to the total joist sqft.
  11. 2x8 joist...1.75"+7.75"+7.75"/12=1.44 Sq"s FT X 12' joist X20 Ea. = total sqft of joist. that's my answer and i'm sticking to it!
  12. Looks  Jon
  13. Behr's 10 year warranty

I would have showed him this pic and have him tell me if Behr was any good after 2 yrs? I have plenty pics to back up my thoughts bout Behr! I would be very closed mined myself as i turn around and drive out the deiveway.
  14. Need Help!

Ummmm can't say i've ever seen anything good at the Depot.I thought i've heard some Lowes carries Cabots but not sure. Are you far from the border? See if you can smuggle some good stain accross the border?
  15. Need Help!

That was a Sodium Hydroxide stripper with multiple strips then oxalic acid no sanding. What are your choices in Canada? You buying from a paint store or do ya'll have Depot's,Lowes etc? You want to stay with oil base stains and no sillycone or arcrylic stains
  16. Need Help!

You can use most Sodium Hydroxide strippers then oxalic to brighten. You can use Behr's stripper since it's their stain you working on. These are the Behr lap marks on a deck i had to strip from a H.O DIY'er stain job.
  17. sanding tool?

Yep that sure will suck but unless you wanna go thru loads of sand paper you gotta recess all them nails. The deck don't look all that big for a belt sander with some 50 grit.
  18. Need Help!

The best way to fix that is to strip all that Behr crap and start allover again and use a different stain! You have pics? EDIT: you will have to strip the Behr off to be able to remove the lap marks or sand them.

  21. Hey atleast it matches the stain Jarrod i almost couldn't see you on the deck :D Nice job
