I just started using Mozilla a few months ago.. I like the Tab browsing feature on it.Is it me or does it take forever to open up? My IE opens up a hell of a lot faster and loads faster but then again IE built in the OS probally has a lot to do with it. Are there any settings in Firefox i can make it to open/load up faster? My system is that new Abit Fatal1ty AN8 SLI Mobo W/Athalon 2200 Mghz overclocked to 2375mghz... 1gig of DDR Ram...ATI 256mb 3DDR video "overclocked too"...2 Raid SATA HD's 200gig-160gig....DVD R+RW dual layer. I think if people have 2 HD's to run the OS on the master HD and the secondary for improtant files. You won't lose any info you have saved if you crash. Also your pc runs faster if you have the paging file on it's own partition. So as you can see i'm a .... :lgkeyboar PS... DO NOT USE SPY-BOT thats the worst spyware i've used. You can really screw up your registry!!

Yeah i know Ryan those guys that write the trojans laugh at Microsoft's security...:D I wonder how Microsoft's new OS is going to be on security?I think it shoudl be out by the end of the year. I've used Zone Alarm before it's a good program.I've used just about all the diff. anti spyware programs out there. I like being a geek trying out diff programs, building my own p.c,OVERCLOCKING my processor, video card etc..

I use Microsoft's anti spyware and also it's free.... I figure it's better to use Microsoft's sofware to protect a "Windows product" Since Windows is Microsoft's platform who would know better how to protect Windows than Ole'uncle Bill Gates..:D

How do you deal with the sun?
seymore replied to JEAPAINT's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
All you can do is start early A.M or late in the afternoon if it's a small deck.I deal with it every summer here in Texas but my only problem are that my decks avg.1500 -2000 sqft it's hard to start late P.M Like Ken said work in small areas till you get your 2 coats backpadded etc. The stain flashing and drying fast in heat is just the nature of the beast when using an oil base stain. I did hear of guys laying tarps to cool the wood 20 min or so before you stain. You just have to make sure the wood doesn't sweat and hold moisture. -
I have to redo someone else' work
seymore replied to Adrian's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Adrian, I have had some luck just using some S/H stripper on those grease spots.Just let it dwell and you might have to scrub to aggitate it.You might have to you use multiple applications of stripper to remove it. I don't know how bad they are but that's about all you can do.Sanding might offer little help as the grease has soaked in to the wood. Good luck on removing that Behr since it hasn't been on the wood for too long.If it's the SILLYcone Behr that stuff sticks to the wood real good and can be harder to take off than older failing stains. Did you do a test spot? -
Nobody better mess with Phil in any state!! :lgbow: :lgbow: You down in Fla.Phil to get away from the cold and snow?

Sorry Jags but the Patriots were pretty tough at home...I think the Jags should have gone with Garrard rather than Leftwich he looked still hurt.

How do you handle touch ups?
seymore replied to Jarrod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Ken what was the stain she used on the house? That actually looks like you could lighten that stain up with some bleach light scrub those drips out Celeste,If you're using an easy stain to apply and won't leave drip marks you shouldn't be worried to leave your customer some. -
How do you handle touch ups?
seymore replied to Jarrod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I'm in the same boat Ken when i mix my 1/2&1/2 colors I'll leave some stain for sure. Some of my jobs are 100 miles away from our office so i'll leave them some stain for sure. Also they can't buy our stain in any stores so it keeps them from putting another stain on top of the Gray Away trying to match it. Now another reason to leave some stain is for PT wood that leaches sap "I hate that sappy wood".You can't stop it but sand or scrape it when it comes out and crystalizes. Also another reason i'll leave some stain is on new PT decks W/railings the top cap does get lighter before the floor.I'll let the customer know in 1 yr or so to brush or paint pad some on when it gets lighter. -
How do you handle touch ups?
seymore replied to Jarrod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Jarrod, I'll leave a quart can of some stain so the homeowner can touch up themselves as needed. My customers are ok with touching up their decks since the Gray Away blends in great and easy to apply. Now for my subdivision that we have a contract to stain,I'll touch those up since it's close and i'm working there almost everyday. Since you are using TWP your customers should be able touch up thier decks also. -

Questions about building a Sprayer
seymore replied to Mike's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Lance, I have had good luck with these triggers spraying my bleach, stripper and acid. The trigger i've been using now it's going on almost 1yr give or take. You should a get a few years or more atleast.I'll run some fresh water thru my lines to flush my pump and wand out. You just have to be careful not to drop them cause the plastic hose barb on the end will crack. I order the triggers from Texas Wood Products in Plano,I'll get you a price by Mon. I get the prices mixed up with my brass triggers. -

seymore replied to Mike's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Mike, I use a trigger for spraying chems made by Spraying Systems Inc.that is rated up to 200psi if needed.. see pic. I can also help you get a brass wand 3 or 4ft wand with a swivel tip. -
Best way to apply stripper?
seymore replied to Limeade's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Limeade Yes you can use a pump sprayer up to apply your stain also but it's not the most efficient way to apply stain. If you have a small deck 200-300 sqft no railing it won't be so bad.You will still spend too much time refilling and pumping up the sprayer for larger decks. Your best bet will be a shurflo pump set up to also spray your stain along with our chems.I like to use a different pump for chems and staining.I actually carry 2 pumps for cleaning and 2 for staining. -
Advertising and getting your name out there.
seymore replied to Ethan's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Ethan,If you want to get your name out try talking to deck builders and offer a referral fee cause you know everybody loves free $$$.Like Jon said NETWORKING is your best bet! Look into going to "Home Shows" and set up a booth with some displays of your work.Set up some sections of decks, fences with a b4 and after look. We haven't had to advertise in years but we also have the luxury of repeat buisness and referrals after 15 years of buisness. -

Best way to apply stripper?
seymore replied to Limeade's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Same here never killed any plants but a few time they may not have been to happy especially flowering plants...i'll normally cover plants with plastic if i have to strip a deck heavy duty strength.I can mix some super strong mixes with my homemade brews. I can't see any S/H stripper being any stronger than the "ancient chinese secret" formula i make ;) -
Best way to apply stripper?
seymore replied to Limeade's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Oh i wanted to add another reason i use a shurflo to spray my chems is so i can control my overspray.I would think using the injector that you would get chem overspray everywhere? Then again since it's dilluted it might not hurt plants as much. You still want to prewet all the plants before during and after ..
