Jon i had been mixing 50/50 brown/gold mostly trying to get them a little darker. Gav, How many gallons did it take? Easy to spray and backpad huh?

The Att. General here in Texas are warning buisness's not to take advantage of the refugees staying here.They will investigate them and will prosecute them! A day after the Hotel's main office found out about the price hike,It was lowered back to the $99 room rate.

Our sports teams here in Houston...Astros,Comets are letting anyone with a La. I.D into the games for free while they are staying in our city.That sure was pretty :cool: of them. We have many relief drives going on here in Houston to raise money for our nieghbors in La.All the big restaurants,oil companies etc. giving thousonds of dollars. All my family made it ok in Lafayette,Breaux Bridge area but the damm phones are still so screwy. I'll tell ya I've seen on the news here in Baytown on the East side of Houston. The Hotels are price gouging like crazy reg. price room $99 since Sat,Sun the rooms are $199!!! Some people are just too damm money hungry!!

NO prob :cool: The different looks of the boards are not your fault.It just looks like when they built the deck they put down boards that had the grain look together.Some boards have more knots and some might have a tighter grain.

That sure is not the most prettiest cedar in the world. Nice cleaning job :cool:

If you work in small sections by yourself then you can spray the section then come back behind yourself then back pad.I only use a shurflo to stain and have no problems back padding. Now the stain i use will allow me to do so and will blend in very well also it will not leave drip marks like some stains. If you call me i might be able to set you up with someone in the Dallas aea.

If you don't have a sprayer yet to stain you can always use a pump up sprayer for getting in the cracks. The best brushes to stain with are Purdy brushes a little extra $$ but they are well worth it! :cool:

Jeff, It has a lot to do with what type of sealer you use oil base,water base,semi trans,solid,etc. Like for instance the Baker's Gray Away "semi trans oil base" I use i will get on rough cedar anywhere from 150-250 sqft per gallon.That is also 2 coats wet on wet.The age of the wood also comes into play the older and drier it is it will soak it up. I got kinda bored after highschool and hit the road and moved out here to Tx. to work.So 15 yrs. later here i am Houston is home now. I still go back to La. and visit friends and family and pick up some food to stock the freezer.:cool:
