Pics- Tux Wet on Cedar
seymore replied to PressurePros's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
You got that right Robert i learned my lesson with grass while cleaning....Plants will fry like an egg under wet plastic. So if you are covering plants and will be a while cleaning take a break and uncover them for a few minutes rinsing them. When i'm staining i use bed sheets to cover plants they are light and plants don't get smothered. -

Has anyone ever
seymore replied to Crownroyal's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
That's a new one for me ...what is that she wants her initials, name on the deck? My guess you would have to use a solid stain to keep it from wearing off too fast. Now if it doesn't work out you can always stain over the designs and try to blend them in. You really don't want to have to strip the deck too often it's not so great for the wood. The less you strip a deck and only have to light clean and re-seal the better. -

A few questions!
seymore replied to M Pearlstein's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Mark, There ya go Mark that's the way to do it  What kind of stain you going to be using? I find people get a better feel of the stain color looking at a pic more than samples. The samples never get to weather but still gives them a good idea color tone wise tho. I'm working on making a cd of my pics and just hand them out or mail them to potential customers. -

Looks good Celeste  I take it that's not the WT wet huh deck looked pretty dry. Those pot rings are a pain to get out! I've sanded some off but they are tough. I'll usually say just put the plant back in the same spot :D -

Pressure Treated Fence questions
seymore replied to mikew's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Mike That looks like surface mildew and should come off after you strip and P/wash.If the mildew is still there hit it with a little bleach/soap mixture. -

Cyprus House Wash
seymore replied to wesley's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Yes i see the discoloration from the sprinklers and uv damage/mildew.I would light strip it i use my own sodium hydroxide mix i make and would make it weak with soap.light bleach/soap mix and then oxalic.Just P/wash lightly and evenly that wood is very soft and you can leave marks. You could use the EFC 38 cleaner or Timber pro's products to do a cleaning those should work. You always want to do a test spot on all your bids so you know what you are going to be up against. Call me anytime if you want to talk i'll help ya. -
Cyprus House Wash
seymore replied to wesley's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I take that back you could light strip that Cypress then oxalic bath.Bleaching sprinkler marks is all i do for fences thrying to get that half moon marks. Wood might get a little fuzzy on you after stripping. -
