  1. Pics- Tux Wet on Cedar

You got that right Robert i learned my lesson with grass while cleaning....Plants will fry like an egg under wet plastic. So if you are covering plants and will be a while cleaning take a break and uncover them for a few minutes rinsing them. When i'm staining i use bed sheets to cover plants they are light and plants don't get smothered.

  9. Has anyone ever

That's a new one for me ...what is that she wants her initials, name on the deck? My guess you would have to use a solid stain to keep it from wearing off too fast. Now if it doesn't work out you can always stain over the designs and try to blend them in. You really don't want to have to strip the deck too often it's not so great for the wood. The less you strip a deck and only have to light clean and re-seal the better.
  10. I'm just messing with you Tony i know how it is geting the old stain out of the cracks. That's why sometimes i'm happy my stain is darker for that same reason. You just made a very happy homeowner they have a new deck again
  11. I see some missed spots in the cracks ;) nice job
  12. A few questions!

Mark, There ya go Mark that's the way to do it  What kind of stain you going to be using? I find people get a better feel of the stain color looking at a pic more than samples. The samples never get to weather but still gives them a good idea color tone wise tho. I'm working on making a cd of my pics and just hand them out or mail them to potential customers.
  13. A few questions!

stain half the cleaned board to show them that it's worth it to stain the deck
  14. Looks good Celeste  I take it that's not the WT wet huh deck looked pretty dry. Those pot rings are a pain to get out! I've sanded some off but they are tough. I'll usually say just put the plant back in the same spot :D
  15. Crawfish season is in!!!

Anybody hungry?? :lgbounces They sure were nice and spicy tooo.. I boiled over 200lbs. in 2 days they sure were some monsters! P.S Got the taters and corn in another pot...
  16. Looks good Celeste  My sample didn't look too bad but i have it in the sun weathering against my Gray Away.So we'll see how it last over time :D
  17. Mike That looks like surface mildew and should come off after you strip and P/wash.If the mildew is still there hit it with a little bleach/soap mixture.
  18. Sweet looking job Barry
  19. Yes i see the discoloration from the sprinklers and uv damage/mildew.I would light strip it i use my own sodium hydroxide mix i make and would make it weak with soap.light bleach/soap mix and then oxalic.Just P/wash lightly and evenly that wood is very soft and you can leave marks. You could use the EFC 38 cleaner or Timber pro's products to do a cleaning those should work. You always want to do a test spot on all your bids so you know what you are going to be up against. Call me anytime if you want to talk i'll help ya.
  20. I take that back you could light strip that Cypress then oxalic bath.Bleaching sprinkler marks is all i do for fences thrying to get that half moon marks. Wood might get a little fuzzy on you after stripping.
  21. Light bleach/soap mixture. light P/wash....then give it an oxalic bath  Cypress is very similar to cedar...are you gonna stain it also?
  22. Crawfish season is in!!!
