  3. who will be next ??

That sure is pretty sad to see guys leaving the buisness i wish ya'll luck and maby ya'll can return to it soon! P.S keep some equipment if ya can you never know :) Is it maby the cost of living is higher in some areas? I know it can be tough and takes alot of hard work/hrs. to make big $$. Having 2 incomes in a family always helps in the beginning till a company gets well established. Most of your companies are not gonna break the bank but can earn a decent living. Also for the companies that are well established are ya'll willing to sell your Company name and customer base? If so and you decide to return better start brainstorming another name :)

  5. Some roof cleaning pics

That's a big diff. Ryan great job! I know what you mean about not getting the rust stains out it would bug me too. When you get a job that dirty and get it cleaned 99% that 1% bothers me that it wasn't perfect. Now if the homeowner is happy that's
  6. A big decision but sad one

Dale Sorry to hear you are having to give up the biz dude.I understand you have to do what you have to do. From i've read you sure knew this biz and it's hard to see someone leave it that cared and had the knowledge you have. One good thing it will always be there when you are able to return P/washing and staining again. Hope everything works out for you Dale Take it easy
  7. I couldn't imagine using a pump up for any spraying anything.I would rather have a back up shur flo for spraying chems. It would take forever using a pump up when you have deck 1000 sqft and up.
  8. Brick Restoration project

I wouldn't think the anti-growth would work under the sealer. If it's sealed the mildew would grow on the top of the bricks After you seal it you might just have to do a light cleaning once a year maby.I would think it would be minor mildew and not to the extent it looks now. .05 worth
  9. Brick Restoration project

Will just bleach not work for cleaning the bricks? It's kinda hard not to beat the $1/gal price for chems. Does a clear sealer for bricks and masonry have mildewcide in it?
  10. gazebo

  13. gazebo

Ronnie What's under the gazeebo decking, stone.concrete? I don't think it's gonna matter what you do first when cleaning. When staining i would stain the ceiling first and yes tarp the floor is it has stone or concrete under it. If you wanna call me i'll help you out.
  14. Behr removal

Very nice work there!! Good luck on that trellis those can be a pain!! Shouldn't have any problem getting a semi to look good on that deck. You made it this far you are half way there
  15. Hurricane Frances

  16. I was just wondering if anyone is staining concrete? Here is the floor of an of an outdoor kitchen for a customer whose cedar house we treated.Actually the whole house has stained concrete inside and out .
  17. Does anyone stain concrete?

I figured it was the acrylic in the product that harsh on the pumps. We cleaned the pumps by running Xylene thru them.I love Xlene because it evaporates quickly. Also it works great to remove any overspray from staining that might get on concrete or bricks. I was looking at the web site for that concrete stain and might to give a try someday.
  18. Does anyone stain concrete?

Celeste, I've sprayed a solvent based acrylic paver sealer with a shurflo pump.It was very fast to spray but also pretty harsh on the pumps. Cause you are having to go back out to roll a 2nd coat is it because of the drying time of the 1st coat? The clear sealer we used was dry in an hour or so.That could have been because the pavers are so porous it soaked it right up. How many yrs. is the concrete stain rated to last?
  19. Call me stupid

    No prob Brad
  20. Call me stupid

go here look at Pauls post very informative http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2165&highlight=ratios
  21. Does anyone stain concrete?

Wow very good margin! I love tippers too  Now does the concrete have to be completly dry for the stain to stick? A shur flo would probally spray that and would cut down the man hours just shield/cover up and spray away.
  22. Does anyone stain concrete?

That looks real good Celeste GREAT Job!!
  23. Happy Birthday Paul-UK !!!!

    Happy B-Day Paul :bday:
  24. One Year Old

What kind of wood is it Cedar....PT? BIGGEST REASON for curing of PT decks is the sealant SOAKING IN to the wood. Well my last job was a NEW PT deck that was down for 6 months slight greying. It's the new ACQ deck pics i posted yesterday that cleaned up really well with all that green wood. I can tell you that it could have stayed untreated for another 6 months. why?...Well it took FOREVER for the first coat to soak in and for a 750 sqft deck it only too 3-4 gallons.Second coat was not drying to fast either. The factors that could quicken the amount of curing time before staining are...constant direct sunlight.... deck goes thru many wet/dry cycles over a few months.I'm speaking mostly about PT decks by the way. I don't do to many cedar decks here in Tx. Now the cedar arbors i do stain i think 1-2 months is a good time for them to cure.Recomendations from my sealant supplier by the way. Just my nickel's worth:cool:
