Shane, I assume right about now and for the next couple of months the phone won't quit ringing. When do you start to notice a taper from the spring "bloom"?
I have 3-4 decks lined up in the past week along with a few house washes and drives.
My phone never stops ringing here in Texas unless it's raining. It was a cooler Winter and somewhat slower than usual but it was a rare Winter.

Remember Wood Tux? Well the chemist behind it that Extreme Solutions used originally has a product in stores now.....you may have seen Wet Wood Stain. Since he and Extreme Solutions parted company he has continued to work on his products (we have used some of them from time to time) and we are going to test this new one out on sample boards to see how it does. Should be interesting to see!
Beth
So is it only a wet wood stain ?

Ready seal recommends cleaning with bleach. Depending on what you need to clean off. Percarb cleaners work better here in the wetlands.
But, like Beth said. There really isn't any thing to strip. After 5 years it normally looks like nothing is on it. So if you are gonna use ready seal again.
just give it a good cleaning. I personally don't trust bleach alone without neutralizing it also.
I would say 5 yrs is too long before oiling a deck again especially using RS max 2 yrs unless it's covered then 3 if you lucky. I use bleach all the time without brightening it all depends how the wood looks but stripping I always brighten.

Nice job good looking color!
Do you leave touch up stain when you finish?
-
Those are nightmare jobs right there.
Hat's off to you for courage and the concrete.
We had some similar but done with 5/4X6 Ipe boards on a slant.
Rod
Well the flagstone was sealed that really helped me and once I wet it down then covered with plastic it's smooth sailing.
Nice Ipe overhead I wish I could see structures built with great wood like IPE!
Here was the inside prepped and ready..

I have been experimenting some spots on a friends roof lately, but I am not seeing the results that I would expect. The roof is dark from fungus stains, & has gotten darker since applying the chemical. but am I missing something here?
Thanks for any help!
If you have been experimenting yourself with no good results i think that answers you question right there huh?
