  1. We have done very little wood work. We have done fences but no decks. I don't mean to pry but how much u make for a deck? We like to make 100 an hour is that feasible doin decks?

Well it all depends on your cost IE:stain, labor supplies etc. You want to be fair but not price yourself out the ball park if you can make between 40-50% after your cost you should be good. Older jobs tend to soak up a lot more stain than newer ones so don't be afraid to charge more for older jobs.

What stain are you using now for your fences?

  2. John T,  Many thanks for the kind words.  Where else did you find us mentioned?

Shane,  This Spring we sent you at least 5 gallons of our Amber for hardwoods at no charge for you to test.  Any thoughts and feedback?  You are a Bakers distributor so this test is truly fair and balanced.  There is no similarity between this site and www.armclark.com.  Just look.

Diamond Jim,  You too were compted Amber to try.  I am still waiting for your feedback.

This website ranks Bahr Stains at the bottom.  Since half of the wood restoration industry walks away from Behr Stain stripping, should we not applaud their backbone and hiss at Consumer Reports?

    Jake,

I haven't used the stain yet that I won in the before and after contest yet on any decks yet. I only put it on a teak bench a few months ago and looked real good but not sure if I'm able to give any real feedback yet.

I have a friends deck I'm hoping to use the stain on soon just been real busy with fences and re stain jobs.

  3. Great work as usual Shane. I like that deck design.

The only problem that guy would have is if he saw me hacking away and sending golf balls like missiles towards his house. I wonder of his family hits the deck every time they here the number 4 even if it's on TV?

     Thanks John

Yeah great design just wished it was a better quality deck material not the prettiest wood.

I think they are lucky they are behind the tee box vs the fairway I know I've dodged some balls on a few decks before!

  4. Hello. Im Ryan.

Some of the people here know me. Glad I can finally post. I registered a while ago, but was still unable to log in.

I am in Western NY. about 30 mins south of Buffalo. Not a New Yorker though...moved here for my wife. Moving to Virginia (to stay) in a couple years.

We made the complete change over to a wash company this year. We started as a general property maintanance company. Made a lot of sense to make the switch.

If my signature doesn't work, I will try to fix it.

    Thanks.

Welcome Ryan glad you could make it! B)

  5. I have a pergola with a wysteria type vine. Has anyone had experience staining a wood pergola with this type of obstacle? Heavy pruning is not an option . A garden forum may have some input, but maybe not like fellow forum members here.....and had the vine survive after . I am fairly certain the vine could die with too much indirect stain contact but wanted to hear others.

    thanks,

    dave

welcome Dave...Please add your signature to your profile..Thanks

Try to pull the vine off as much as you can since they don't want to prune it or stain in the winter time when the plant is dormant.
