  1. I've seen a guy post some pics son a deck he put that stuff on for a customer on Facebook. I think it's ugly and just not right for wood it turns a wood deck into a composite deck. I could see it losing it's bond to the wood eventually but how long? I'm guessing you apply more on if it peels?

I would never apply that stuff on a deck myself it's almost a woodie sin to be honest......

  2. G'day Shane, yes, there's been a bit of wicked weather over the last few years, but nothing like your twisters - they are mind blowing, gotta feel for those affected by the randomness of the destruction. No typhoons/hurricanes/cyclones - a couple of months too late.

Put yourself in this vehicle John.....

  3. Yea I know you been having trouble with your foot besides that.

"Feels better when it quits hurtin' "

yeah the pain in my right foot seems to be called ....."Cuboid" something from everything i've read and can be fixed.

  5. i have a deck im working on that has sikkens or something like it on it now and the guy doesnt want to strip it. He wants just to clean and Stain over it. First will that even work with that clear coat looking finish? and second what stain if any would you suggest using on this nightmare. I generally use Ready seal or TWP but i know those will not work very well with this one.

Do you know for sure it's Sikkens?

Well if it has Sikkens and he doesn't want to strip it then just use Sikkens on it again. I've never worked with Sikkens but someone will chime in on the cleaning and recoating of SK.

How long have you been working restoring wood?

Do you have any pics that would help?

  6. she's looking at a product from home Depot called Wood Rx (its acrylic) so I'm like "NOOOOOO". Any thoughts?

Well if you inform her how it's nightmare to maintain an acrylic stain it will cost more $ in the long run by using that type of stain. Most homeowners see that long 4-6 yr life of stain they claim to have is all fluff and so misleading. Show her how the cost can be lower to re stain in 2-3 yrs to maintain a deck with AC vs having to strip an acrylic off.

You need to get some pics of the AC stain on decks and show her what a professional stain on decks looks like.

  7. Toll Brothers huh, that's a pretty good gig. 2100lf is impressive as well :)

Yeah it was a nightmare trying to get set up as a vendor needing some crazy insurance just to stain the fence. So I ended up working for the developer Caldwell Co. and Toll Brothers pays Caldwell.I like it that way some builders take forever to pay but not Caldwell 30 days no longer.

Well I had just finished 1500 lft x 2 sides a few weeks ago " i'll post those later" and just found out a fence builder has 4K Lft only 1 side for me to do when I get the stain in another 200 gallons.

  8. Belly tarps under the platform. OR air matresses with your tarps drapped over them to capture run off.

Boom Train of oil socks around the perimeter.(coral it) pull ashore and bag it.

Or there is the possibility of (soy Gel) applied on day one and lifted off with low pressure and scraping tools on day two.

The mesh fabric construction screens are great for trapping that gunk.

Just make sure your BMP's line up with your locals pre-req's if not, it may be better to seeks other options.

You da man ABC Mr. Dock guru! :)>

I need to call you someday so you can give me some pointers...
