Need recommendation on house wash chemical.
Power Clean posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
Guys, I'm in a pinch. I normally use the Citrcleen Product made formally by RPC Chemicals, but I'm out. I haven't ordered any because this time of year, my house washing is for the most part dead. Well it's not dead apparently and I need something until i get get some more of what I use. I got caught with my pants down. Is there any store bought products from Walmart or such that can do the job decently? All I have been using is Citracleen, Bleach and a rinse aid. Just need some hardware/department store detergent that can get me by. -
Any suggestions on how to leave windows looking clean after pressure cleaning a house

Jet Dry! 1oz per 5gal of house wash mix, leaves the windows nice and shiny. Works better than the 5 gallon rinse aid I use to buy. -
Normally mold and mildew growth is dormant during the winter months due to the decrease in humidity. That's why you would never see it that much out west because of the dryer climate. Mold and Mildew need moisture to grow and you don't have as much in the winter season.

NO, SS is not completely corrosion proof, but it is highly resistant to corrosion. Trick is to keep it clean. Here are a couple of links with probably more info than you want to know about stainless steel. http://www.azom.com/details.asp?ArticleID=1145 http://www.azom.com/details.asp?ArticleID=1182

You can find a lemon with any make. I have the 04 F150 and even though my truck has been okay, there are alot of people out there who have had so much trouble that they fought tooth and nail and had their trucks bought back by the dealer. Don't think it's just Dodge. I can't understand why a manufacture wants to always redesign stuff, with the exception of body styling, they could use tried and true engines and trannys instead of all this new fangled stuff that takes years to work the bugs out.

Just got my new ZK1 unloader today and got it installed. Works great and no problems with the 3/8 bypass line. I installed a "1/2 to 3/8" 90 at the bypass port which may have helped. Also had to install a 1/2 to 3/8 HP fitting at the discharge port to mate the unloader to the unloader block. Installed new tips, run it up to 3500 PSI and she's purring like a kitten. Thanks all.

I agree with what most have said, once it pops somwhere down the middle, you can rest assured more will follow. Toss it and buy a new one. I run a Goodyear Neptune 1-wire 4000PSI. One continuous peice 250ft long. I get a lot better wear with a one peice hose vs shorter hoses and connections. So keep field repair kits on hand and a new hose in the truck for back up if you go the one hose route.

Had a friend of mine who is in the lawn care biz. Decided he would try his hand at PW. Bid on a gas station, $350.00 to wash the building and entire parking lot. Now, not only is his bid ridiculous, but he owns no PW equipment whatsoever. Machine Rental $120, helper for the day $60, Hardware store degreaser, $30, calling me to bail him out and me making $200 in an hour just to wash around the pumps…priceless. He still had to stay and finish the rest of the lot...with a WAND! He later ask me what I thought he should do. I told him to stick to cutting grass.

Just get you some good inserts for your rubber boots. I where LaCrosse Grange boots in summer and the 800g thinsulate in winter. I have no problems.

As long as you are confident in your abilities and you have repeat customers due to your reputation, I could care less what any article says. I would be willing to bet that not one of your customers has ever heard of much less seen an issue of the Cleaner Times. Just keep gettin'-r-done!

After buying a new rig and after viewing all your post and seeing how busy you are these days, when did you find the time to do that? lol. Congrats. I have 4 now. Can't wait until the two boys are old enough to tag along with daddy and do some work for me.

I use lowesthosting.com. In over 2 years their server my site is on has never been down and it cost me about $80 bucks a year. They have great packages and good extras that come along with it. I'd check them out. Just my .02!

Ok. My Pulsar 280 unloader just died. It will no longer bypass when the trigger is released and it’s putting the engine under a load and spiking the pressure on my pump. I have disassembled it and found no obstructions and/or damaged check balls or springs. It may just be worn out. I really don’t know (over 500 hours and 2 years worth of ownership). After reassembly, it still will not work. I have been reading every post I could find on unloaders from 3 different BBS sites and really haven’t found much on this particular unloader from GP. I’m replacing the 280 with a ZK-1. My machine is rated for 3500PSI so I didn’t go the K7 route. Anyone with experience on these unloaders? Can I use the pressure gauge on the pump at the discharge outlet to set pressure or do I need to tap into a port on the unloader itself? Will my current pressure switch work correctly with this type of unloader or will I need to change something. Will it plumb the same as the 280? I have a Delco RK-41XP with the bypass currently plumbed with a 3/8 hose into my tank.

True, makes sense and I should have realized that myself. Thanks Alan. It's been one of those days. -
General Pump ZK1 Unloader

Well, I'm curious. If this unloader relieves pressure off the hose and pump when you release the trigger then most of it must go to bypass, right? So I was wondering how the 1/4 line handles that. Obviously it does, can someone elaborate a little? -

Thanks for all the help guys. I will try the current bypass setup as is. If I have trouble, I will go another route. -
General Pump ZK1 Unloader

I see the ZK1 has a 1/2 in. bypass port. I'm currently running a 3/8 in. line back to the tank and I do not use a 3-way valve because I do not run chems through the pump. Do I need to move it up to a 1/2 bypass line? Another thing that came to mind, from time to time my hoses do get run over, but I nevered worried that much about it because the lines stayed pressured up with the old unloader. Now that this unloader will relieve the pressure of the lines, will my hoses be more prone to damage from being run over at the drive thru? -

Slang for Super Crew. Used a lot on http://www.f150online.com/index.cfm -
I've used winshield washer fluid as well as RV antifreeze. These products are useless unless you completely purge your system of water. Those things don't do well if they're diluted. I buy the cheapest automotive antifreeze I can find and reclaim it when I have to do a job. I take less chances that way. Just my .02

I bought a 2004 Ford F150 Screw back in October of 04. I needed something larger than my 02 Ranger Edge due to my service area and my family got larger too. I wish now I had bought a F250 with the powerstroke because it looks like I'm averaging 50,000 miles a year. But, after down payment, rebates and trade-in, I only paid $15,000 for this truck.
