Pretty sad when these low-life decide to vandalize a sign when there is enough work out there. Obviously they are hacks without insurance and license.

how do you remove chimney soot
gawashman replied to a68cudas's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I used some purple power industrial strength and it seems to help if you let it dwell 5 minutes and repeat application before final rinse. -
Should I listen to my friend who said my estimate is twice the price it should be?
gawashman replied to Phil Rogers's question in Residential Pressure Washing
No one ever said this job was easy, but your friend must not have studied the process of pressure washing very well. Chemicals are used for very specific applications. Knowing what chemicals to use and when to use it in the correct proportions will keep you in business, unlike your friend. -
Usually after a house wash, they very seldom want to entertain other cleaning needs..:)

I was driving around various subdivisions targeting those with vinyl sided homes. It was obvious that most of the homes both single and two storey levels had their north face covered with thick mold and mildew. Just really terrible looking. I inserted my postcard in their newspaper slot below the mailbox. Unfortunately, some neighborhoods had metal boxes where you cannot place a card anywhere. These neighborhoods have two storeys homes (about 2000 sq.ft.) with the entire north wall covered in mold and mildew. Outside of mailing my cards to these homes, how can one tap into cleaning these vinyl cladded subdivisions? These homes have not been cleaned in sometime...I was able to post a yard sign at the entrance of one of the subdivisions since January but have not received any calls yet? I thought about doing a demo on the weekend but not sure if washing a 2000 sq.ft + size home for free is a viable option.

How to approach homeowners?
gawashman replied to gawashman's question in Residential Pressure Washing
------------------------------ I have done some of these after working on a house, where I would place some of my brochures at nearby homes. I am designing door hangers and plan to also use them for specific marketing. I stay within a 50 mile radius unless there is a specific request by a property owner who agrees to the requested work with an added travel charge. Don't get me wrong, I am willing to go wherever the job takes me as long as it is profitable. -

I use either SG or Purple Power...Brush on a small section at a time...Temp is a big factor.

Estimates - how do you handle them?
gawashman replied to Beth n Rod's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Does Washing per SQFT really get the point across...I mean sometimes you are having to deal with grading issues, shrubbery, trees etc.. -
Downstreaming rig
gawashman replied to hermies pressure washing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I agree using a 5 er is efficient, until the volume warrants improved efficiency. I have a roof tank (no bulk head fitting) and a 7 GPM delevan dedicated for roof washing only. -
Including gutters with house wash, or upsell?
gawashman replied to gutterdog's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I always include gutters. I let them know that second and third floor gutters would require hand washing to come out perfect, if they are willing to spend for the extra service. Otherwise, we will get them as clean as possible from the ground. -
***** Nice and clean...Awesome before and after pictures.

That's what they were using to apply the chemicals from their 5 gallon bucket...They strapped two extensions together in order to brush the chemicals on the vinyl surface. It was hilarious as the extension pole was swaying allo ver the place.

The Weather
gawashman replied to James's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Insurance for sure...What about chemical gloves or eye protection...My helper has to have both at all times. Weather out here has been cloudy with regular rain...Not fun having to reschedule. -
*** Wow...looks fantastic!!!

I need help. Cleaning 2 story Vinyl Siding
gawashman replied to RGilliam's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I would either use a 0040 tip or simply an x-jet, though you would have to refill your bucket as you move along the building...:) -
