  2. Tomato Garden

weve got tons of maters this year again, just getting red now......we too end up giving away A LOT of them.....peppers too this time we'll make a boatload of sauce for the winter.... yummm :) thanks for the article too beth !!
  3. Smoking Ban

I have no real problem with the no smoking in restaurants, as families with kids dont need the grief or aggravation, but as far as the bars are concerned, thats pretty lame.....if your at least 21 you can choose if a place is too smokey to drink at.... these politicians need to let us enforce the laws we already have and stop coming up with these silly ones...... 21 year old cant smoke in a bar, but if they're looking for some coke, ecstasy or meth, hell, come on in, belly up to the bar have your fill, dance all night and drop dead....but NO WAY are we going to allow you to smoke a cigarette that may or may not kill you in 60 years.... yesterday, our butt-head governor signed the new law where a person has to be 21 to get a tatoo..... what? .... an 18 year old can enter the military, be trained, maybe for example we'll say special forces of some kind, go thru the training, get overseas, go operational, kill bad guys that are trying to kill him, be part of something very meaningful, come back on leave to Illinois, visit his family at 19-20 years old and can't get a tatoo of his unit, flag, mother-----whatever. this place is all F*%^#@$ 'D up......Ive lived in many states, of them all, Illinois, NJ and CA are the most screwed up political hack joints I can recall........ OK, the BP is coming down now......Ive been detached from my regular duties for the past 5 years while I work for the fed, and they make the most back-asswards decisions imaginable....... OK, Im done now......whew, Im tired ....
  4. Compact Shur-flo setup.

steves gutter cleaner performs as well as the claims stated here, I just prefer to brush it on for the waste issues and it can be so damn windy here, it gets EVERYWHERE.......although on lower gutters I spray it with a big squirt bottle with a straight stream....janitor type bottles......and many times it can be just rinsed off without aggitation
  5. Which to buy, X-JET or M-JET Nozzle???

I would think so......imagine x-jetting a house right from a nice hot mix of stripper.........???...that could be bad news :) Scott, dont worry about reading and not posting....keep posting and asking, thats how we all learn stuff....!!
  6. Defurring Pad

correct...10 to a box, each box is about 1'x1', maybe a bit smaller and VERY light weight....shipping cant be much (I get em locally, so I dont know cost of shipping)......get more than 1 box though, you'll use them
  7. Compact Shur-flo setup.

Steve, like the others, I prefer to brush the gutters, it really doesnt take as long as you might think, compared to hooking up the shurflo etc....some people even x-jet the gutters, but like mentioned above I dont need that stuff getting on everything......I think my extension pole is 24' (maybe 18', I dont recall) with a big fat car wash yellow brush screwed on...I mix the same chemical 50-50 any auto parts store should have plastic battery boxes, thats where I got mine
  8. Lookin great guys !!!! for your maintenance coat, did (do) you guys do the whole thing of just horizontals, or is it based on what parts need the maintenance...??
  9. Compact Shur-flo setup.

    1. now have 2 setups, one with a lawn tractor battery, the other with a regular small car battery...really small one though..... trickle battery charge overnight when I use them, never ran outta juice, even on long jobs,, 2.I have qc on all hoses and wands 3.battery box for the battery on one, the other mounts to the bottom of the cart, so cant really help you there... 4.expandable wand would be just like hose, so shouldnt be a problem...we use 3/8 hose on these.....also put mini ball valves on the ends before the qc's, no leaks when I disconnect....plus then I can save all the chems, sealer or whatever is still in the hose when finished.....50 feet of 3/8 actually holds quite a bit of liquid..... good luck and post pics when its done..
  10. Things that make you say..Hmmmmmm

makes perfect sense, for small outfits, but unless a large company really blows, its hard to get everyone to stop shopping, or using the service.... there was a thing going around the internet to not buy Mobil gas, that would never fly, nor would the nationwide boycot of Target.....just to big, but if the word got out that a small biz was crap, see ya !!!
  11. Algae on PT deck

Looks great Beth n Rod, how do you know to use 3.5 oz as opposed to 4, 5, etc. etc....is it just lots of expirience or do you test before attempting to strip.....???
  12. Clean Across America Projects

  15. Should it smell like bleach?

    I feel ya.....!!! :)
  16. Which to buy, X-JET or M-JET Nozzle???

this has been a great debate, I really like the m-5 and it has worked for us, the bucket thing does blow but it isnt the worst thing, I mean mix a couple buckets, carry them around, takes extra time but Im not racing anybody anyway and sometimes its nice to slow it down a bit..... anyway, something I havent read yet, is the wear n tear to equipment by downstreaming, especially you guys down south shooting so much chlorine.....all those chems running thru all your hose, plugs, qc's, guns, wands etc.....anybody running into probs with that?
  17. Which to buy, X-JET or M-JET Nozzle???

Mike and/or Mel, would you recommend a certain downstreamer or at least the specifics of ratios/adjustable vs. non....??? pros and cons between different downstreamers..??
  18. I am fairly certain this is a somewhat routine issue, so hang with me if this is a lame-o problem..... :) while doing a deck the other day I noticed a "slight" drop in pressure/volume, I walked to the machine and saw water shooting about 5 feet in the air coming out of the downstreamer barb...... when the machine is running with no tip or an open gun, the injector sucks like it is supposed to, close the gun so the system is "closed" and the water comes spraying out the downstreamer.....??? I pulled it off, O-rings all look good, no gunk or debris in there, spring is intact... there is no debris inside the unloader where the injector attaches.... any ideas ?? there is a pic to make it easier to understand....the water comes shooting out of the top "barb" where the soap hose would attach....p.s....I never use this thing either, if that matters thanks in advance...
  19. leaking chem injector

one more thing..... If i need to use the machine before this gets resolved ,will any harm come if i let this spray out the top ?? I wouldnt think it would matter other than reducing my output by a bit..... Thanks again :)
  20. leaking chem injector

thanks guys.....i havent downstreamed anything in quite some time, didnt even see the ball until I unjammed it, its a mess...Im gonna get the rebuild kit for it and for the heck of it Ill get the ceramic ball, its only $2 more, just in case I decide to use the darn thing... Russ, as I was searching the internet stores I get stuff from, the kits dont specify what size ball comes with them...I'll just call so they can match it up with the same type downstreamer.... thanks again guys...
  21. Getting this off my chest....

its the same if they're both sleeping on their feet....
  22. Behr gone, RS Natural Cedar

oh yes.... the middle pic still has the 2 makita machines resting nicely on the top step.....oops, my bad for leaving them in the pic.....Didnt need to sand too much, but such a small deck, i knew it would look better.....
  23. $175 House Wash
