  1. Bid Proposal

If you have any energy left from emailing all these, I'd sure love to check them out too.............
  2. Behr premium with Silicone

After stripped and neutralized... The first pic in each set is where a door mat was/is placed......
  3. 1st airless experience

carlos, outstanding !!! the reason I asked was I despise sealing the underside of anything...even spraying with a shurflo with the pressure reduced and a cone tip cranked all the way in (to produce more of a mist)........after reading about and seeing how others are using an airless in certain situations may allow me to not hate doing the undersides anymore..... p.s. that pic is great.....did you guys do that sweet patio too ?
  4. Flash Drying

you would think that it would be ok to cool the wood that is too hot to seal with a light misting without raising the moisture content as it would cool the wood and evaporate without penetrating.........havent tried it yet, but I can see a backyard expirement happening real soon
  5. 1st airless experience

Carlos, Do you mean if your sealing the underside of an elevated deck over a patio or something? If so, what do you do for the rest of it, roll and brush?
  6. 1st airless experience

well, I guess I'd be in the 2% since I dont even own one....... when I do get one, I'm sure not going to spend $1,000 on one that I may or may not use much.....I'd just like one to paint my own darn stuff.
  7. 1st airless experience

what brand airless did you go with ?? I dont have one, but have been thinking about getting one.... we pretty much just use Ready Seal with a shurflo setup, so the airless may be a waste, but "boys and their toys".......
  8. Mahagoney deck

I wouldn't let you throw Thompsons in my garbage can......its not worthy of my nice trash cans......

  11. Here we go again Hurricane season!

here is a sample of the 44'....... http://shop.store.yahoo.com/rosepetal/uscoasguar44.html
  12. Here we go again Hurricane season!

the 44 footers can right themselves, if I remember right (its been awhile) those were called the MLB's (motor life boats).....and the newer 57 (I think) footers have the cabability to self right also......but they dont do it as fast as you would like, the guys are under water for a minute or so and get banged around pretty good......but the bigger cutters (270' and the 378') will sink like a stone.
  13. milky pump oil

the same idiot that designed and sells the extension tubes so oil doesnt drip on the frame.......
  14. that looks great guys !!!! what type of sanders do you have in your arsenal for a sand job like that ?? belt, random orbit, floor etc etc ??? very sweet !
  15. Morality/Honesty Test at Lowes

I get all kinds of small stuff from espec, like plugs, QD's etc etc.....never bought hose from them, I get hose from www.pwmall.com ........the prices are good and for me their somewhat local, so shipping is saved... espec hosed me on a few things that were very minor and no great issues and I'll keep buying my small stuff from them......I dont believe the prices can really be beat and the catalog is pretty big..... any other companies have good catalogs? I like to keep them around ..........
  16. Here we go again Hurricane season!

the weather channel is running hurricane week and monday they had the story about the oil platform barge in the gulf a few years back that got caught and was being towed by 2 sea going tugs.....scary stuff I rode thru plenty of those things back in my Coast Guard days....NOT FUN (except when its over and survived) there is no feeling in the world than watching a mountain of water heading straight for you.....pucker-pucker-pucker Big Bill--------------HOLD ON TIGHT
  17. New To the Forum

    Tim, whazzzzzzz-up? welcome.......
  18. looked at a deck today and boy was I shocked when I saw this.. lady tells me it is 13 year old PTP which had some sort of color (brown) on it.....she then tells me to my horrified face that she had a friend of hers apply Thompsons this past weekend....and since it looks like it does, is there anything I can do......this thing must have been so filthy with dirt and mildew before they dumped that stuff all over it...... the wood is still greasy feeling and just disgusting !!! Can it be done ?????? how long do I have to wait before trying the stripper on the Thompsons??? Never tried stripping anything only a week old before.... I bid it pretty high so I may never hear from her again, (which may be a blessing) There was a 1750 psi electric "power" washer in the garage parked next to the 6 empty thompsons cans, which would explain the swirl marks on the outside of this mess....
  19. redwood double porch

got a bit of defelting done on this redwood porch (in between thunderstorms).............. the homeowner is thrilled thus far with the transformation......gonna get it sealed pretty soon as she is having other work done to the building, inside and out..... still undetermined on the ready seal color.....
  20. can it be done?

heres another pic of this beauty.................
  21. Help with a bid

I must again agree with Ken, wouldnt do that house for less than $300 in my area, that is (if I'm seeing it correctly, there is a small tree growing in one of the rear gutters, so I'm sure that place is pretty nasty).....and as far as the wood goes, thats much more than the house wash, unless he just wants a quickie-wash (which Ive never done), would be a X-Jet fan application of my left over house wash mix and a general rinse, but not a board by board thorough cleaning. To spend all day there (or a few hours) the $150 guy aint paying for insurance, quality chems or anything except maybe beers and a small bag of weed, because for $150, someone MUST BE HIGH !!!!!
  22. Extend-a-wand Problem

Im thinking about ordering that same pump from northern, just as a backup...for that price, dont think you can go wrong......I carry around a pump up, which I hate using..............
  23. Extend-a-wand Problem

I'll surely agree with that !!! just blew my demand switch (pressure switch) on my ShurFlo.......called the place I ordered it from to purchase a new switch (for $30 or so), well its back ordered and would be 2 weeks for them to get it.... as Washaway says, I called "the man" himself....called shurflo (mostly because I was looking for a local distributor around me) the guy talked to me for a bit, took my address and said he'll send one right out to me.....FREE now that ROCKS!!!!!!!
  24. Bleach beak

are you folks wearing the painters type respirators? the kind with the 3M replaceable cartridges for like $35 at the big home supply warehouses? thats what I have (traded a company t-shirt for it) and wear the flip up faceshield (mostly when mixing wood chems) and wear saftey glasses for the house chems.
  25. While you're on vacation

we are a one man, one woman show, with other fulltime jobs and if we travel for vacation, wrestling tournaments or work I'll forward the business line to my cell, then get the voicemail and return calls.......and if we're gone for a week, I pray for rain here, so I dont feel as bad!! actually closed 2 deals and ordered my ready seal from the western national Fila Cadet wrestling tournament in vegas awhile back.....just have to remember the time change and dont try to use your cell phone while in the sport book !!!
