Which Sealer(s) are you using this year?
tropical wave replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Duane...Ive yet to hear anything really good about Deckscapes.... probably just use RS, the more "goof proof" the better anyway...LOL was asking bout the sherwin product cause its an easy local purchase and if I was short, could be bought quick n easy....dont have the capitol to load up with 100 gallons of RS or WT in the various colors.....guess I'll have to work it though-----quickly !!!!!! -
acids attatched to my body would be too spooky for me....
-
Thats great news....... since your back will be sore anyways, you'll no doubt need the nightly massage from the wife....just another way for her to help out !!!!!!!!!
-
Neither is "Dr. Jelly Finger"............... been about 8 years....

I also agree with mike and celest, if the customer feels like they got a great deal and are very happy (a $1200 job for $900) they believe it was a great value, and their word of mouth to friends, neighbors, relatives etc will more than make up the $300 that could have been over charged.... if they tell 10 people, those tell 10 people, etc etc etc.... on and on it goes, and the company grows and grows and grows without having to feel bad about overcharging a lousy $300.. (and you can sleep at night celest) I dont know how car salesmen sleep....the whole industry is based on screwing people..... I sold new cars for a short while years and years ago... screwing the public over was tough to do..... a simple rule to follow when you buy a vehicle, this is true about 80% of the time.....if you walk out of the dealership feeling that you got a great deal---you got screwed and paid a bit more than you needed to, if you walk out feeling like you may have gotten screwed, you didnt, you did just fine -
What's you vehicle of choice...and why?
tropical wave replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Dodge 1500 4X4...........why? friendly with the General Manager of the dealership..... thats why its been, Intrepid, Dakota, Jeep GC, 1500 4X4 in the past to present. still not cheap, but having someone to take in a lemon on trade, not screw you outta cash and provide service at the drop of a dime is great indeed...... our next truck (money permitting) will be a full sized Toyota..... -
Mid April for wood, ASAP (weather permitting) for houses.........

Beth, Rod and Others, Whats the difference between the HD80 and the F-18? Is one a hotter mix than the other? Does one strip better, easier, etc...? Does one or the other have multiple uses vs. the other? Same question for the F-10 and the EFC38? Thanx
-
Beth...ABSOLUTELY, "right tool for the job" but......(dramatic pause)...................... for what job is the HD-80 better for than the F-18??? and vise versa......

tropical wave replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I voted for Deck Scapes even though I haven't used it yet. Its the only decent product (from what I've read) that I can get locally if needed. Others that have used it, is there any secrets to using it versus other products? Is it tricky or simple compared to others???? -
Im using the sand now.....and Im digging it !!!

Marine vs Regular battery for ShurFlo
tropical wave replied to Christopher's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Just finished building my shurflo setup tonight, only thing left is the battery, and Im getting more confused.....was thinking marine battery, just checked the sears website for the heck of it and the cheapest they sell is over 150 bucks.. I didnt really think I wanted to spend that much..... my pump draws 4 amps, would any type gell battery be ok, jetski, tractor eyc be ok.... gonna mostly spray stripper, ox and sealer....... -
I HATE math, except counting money (incoming, not outgoing), but all the secrets of the universe are hiding among numbers.... can only imagine what we will know when the human race actually gets SMART...
-
Robert, Thanks for the reply...I really appreciate it. Was just wondering NOW because of the "sale" with free shipping advertised for the HD-80 etc. Sounds great from what you've said....From what I've read in other threads is that most folks brighten anyway even using the EFC-38, so I guess it doesn't really matter that I'd have to use oxalic after the F-10...... Thanks again for taking the time

That is why everything in the universe can be explained through math.

Be4 you approach that hottie acrossed the bar...
tropical wave replied to PressurePros's question in The Club House
Thats just WRONG....funny as hell, but so wrong.... -
Some sites are just a pain in the a$$ to view..(none in this industry though) I mean if Im looking for something I don't really need cartoon fireworks exploding all over the page, or animated zoo animals on parade as the page loads. Every site that I go to, if there is the option to "skip flash", 100% of the time I'M SKIPPING IT........ just an opinion (after a crappy day)

Sprak pressure washer
tropical wave replied to aph111's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Thats the only place I've ever seen the word SPRAK in my life, thought it may have something there.......maybe shoot them an email and see if they can help you out...... -
Like many have said, and its the same for us, I'd just like to have a site to put on the truck, cards, flyers etc.... I wouldnt expect business popping up from folks "googling" for a housewash....just be nice to have a place for homeowners to go while looking at my direct mailer or from seeing the truck working in the neighborhood...without ever talking to them, they already have seen the work you do from a nicely laid out site.....something we'll be considering, thanx all

The Sears here was selling that size at a discount, like $150 off, when I asked the sears guy he stated that sears was discontinueing making the bigger PW's. He said that the 1 year warranty would still be valid but sears wouldn't be able to replace it if need be because they were cutting the inventory to zip
