  1. Chris, it's just best not to question the way TGS is run. There are different rules for different people, that's just the way it is....and I'm fine with that, this is not my sandbox.

Let's just ignore the negative & try be positive here. Those that know...know what the deal is.

LOL, coming from you.... That's even funnier

  2. Chris Chappell,

Find me ONE place in this thread where a name was given. You can't Chris Chappell of Superior Power Washing because the two instances of it have been edited. In fact Chris Chappell of Superior Power Washing the one instance with a correctly spelled name was posted by someone who is close to those individuals, NOT by someone who is at odds with them. So before you, Chris Chappell of Superior Power Washing, try to dictate what the rules are perhaps you ought to read them first.

How can it be called bashing Chris Chappell of Superior Power Washing if no names are mentioned? It can't.

However your negative SEO garbage that you and others are trying to pull over on the other forum? Well that's just low, dirty and mean. We all see it, we all get it and you Chris Chappell of Superior Power Washing are a part of that problem, not a solution for it.

    BETH

    Well done, that's funny

    Brian,

About $90 for a 5'er. Note the bottom of the bucket. Can be used for wood, concrete, brick, all exterior surfaces, hair conditioner for cats and dogs, roof shine, car varnish, fake snot for Halloween, etc. A real bargain.

Just wear ski masks or cleverly pour into RS or AC buckets before showing up at customers property.

Rick, I thought the AC/RS bucket was our little secret, I think professor foley does it also, but he heats it up on the stove before he rep ours it . It is a lot easier for him to heat it now that RS has gone to metal buckets

  4. Here's the bottom line. You can't make an org, say it's for the entire industry, and then kick members out just because they freely express themselves on matters of the industry. And yes if I don't like something I can elect to leave, but just because I don't like one thing doesn't mean that I don't like other things about the forum. In no way is an org representing this industry as a whole if they kick people out for expressing their freedom of speech. An org is not a company, they simply exists for contractors to interact with each other....FREELY. Ask yourself this.... if I start talking crap about facebook on facebook are the administrators going to kick me from facebook, or how about any popular social media I go to, like twitter, myspace, or google+? When an org that is representing the entire industry can understand this concept only then where we be united as an industry.

Well written. Even if you said bad things about mark Zuckenberger on Facebook, I bet you would be fine and wouldn't get kicked off. The reality is that this wasn't about Mike, the prez was talking smack about BOD decisions as the leader of the org that obviously didn't represent the org. Mike called him on it, catching him telling untruths, in the public forum. It was said that Doug R banned him, I was reading the thread at the time mikes post was pulled, I looked to see who was on line and it showed Ron in the admin panel, Doug wasn't even signed into the BBS when Milke was banned. Untruth number 2! It would have happened to anyone who called the prez on his statement

  5. The truth is in your comment....

When you have to walk on eggshells to make a comment about an Org in our industry, on an industry forum that has a board for that.....something is wrong.

I'm not going to comment further since Beth has laid down the law....

I will say this, it was best for all to be able to discuss these things and when the primary places shut down one side simply because "they" don't or control own a forum, then it's a breach of the spirit of freedom of speech....even though we have no rights on a private forum. Why have a board for everything if everything can't be discussed.

It is just a bad situation. Many of the new people don't understand the history and legacy ( for a choice of better words) that exhist. Many of these guys were not on the BBS prior to 2008 and cant appreciate the fact that history may be repeating itself. A rerun, just on a different channel. If a BBS wants to censor an open forum based on personal gain verses the forum rules, then so be it. If I don't like the meat a butcher is selling, I don't shop there. We all have that freedom.

  6. What's everyone doing getting ready for the spring rush.

After the seminar next week, we are starting out marketing plan for the spring. We have had a busy winter as we market throughout the whole year, but we increase it for the spring.

We start watching the weather channel. When we see a break in the weather for a few days, we do a mailing to past customers. We time the mailing to hit the mailboxes in the second or third warm day. We get a pretty good response. Sometimes march, sometimes April.

We also have a clipper add that hits in April and a home show the first weekend in April.

All of our print ads start the second week in April, we have tried doing them earlier in past years with poor response .

What are you guys (and girls$ doing?

  7. What constitutes a violation of your first amendment rights when you have a thread censored or you are banned from a BBS?

Obviously, there are rules to follow. If you attack someone in a personal manner that most would agree there are consequences of your actions.

But what about getting a thread pulled just because someone doesn't like the subject matter and even though it is presented in a professional manner, they are questions that the admin or moderator don't want answered because the truth isn't something they want known?

What about getting banned from a BBS for asking questions to silence you. Is this a violation of your rights?

  8. I agree but I also respect the right of the owner of a forum to do with it as he or she pleases.....as long as it is consistent.

The free market and free internet will eventually resolve the problem.....separate the wheat from the chaff. A forum staff that censor's disagreement turns the forum into an echo chamber of parrots. The best discussion moves to the open forums. The owner and staff usually resort to bumping old threads every day as a last resort....in order to spur activity.....a sign of a dying forum.

    You nailed it Barry!

  9. Only an idiot would ban or censor someone over respectful questions in a forum. Some one would be protecting their interest... Follow the money... as in most shady conduct like the poll is questioning, I bet you would find $$$ at the root of the reason for censorship and banning to silence someone. 10 to 1 odds that I would be right!
