  1. way too funny today at work!!!

  2. way too funny today at work!!!

Do you remove all signs, or just signs of other washers?
  3. way too funny today at work!!!

You comment on the quality of his sign reflecting the quality of his work. Yet, your grammar/spelling is on par with a sixth grader. Does that equally reflect. Leave property alone that does not belong to you.
  4. What a boring slow August

Ron, you pay for Dan's plane ticket and I will pay for his room. I want to kick his butt for being a pessimist, buyhim a drink, and then look at pics of the basement:). I'll reserve the room tonight if you get the ticket. Ball is in your court.
  5. Like cake work aren't they Jeff. We usually don't use extensions til we get to 4 stories and lifts after 5 stories.
  6. I have one of these for each machine. Gives about a 9 hour run time, or almost a full day. You can "T" them and they will supply two machines if needed. Overton's is a local store for me, don't know if they have one where you live. I am sure a marine boating store would carry them. Overton's® > Moeller Portable Plastic 12-Gallon Fuel Tank
  7. I don't know how much of this thread is tounge in cheek, but I'm with Ken, I wished I bidded against y'all. Those buildings should take no more than 30 minutes each and I would fire one of my guys if they even thought of taking a ladder of the trucks. On guy soaps and runs the brush over the gutter, one guy follows and rinses.
  8. People to People Student Ambassador!

I just want to say I can picture Celeste walking around the Colosseum, cig in her mouth, asking who the contact person is to clean all that dirty marble:winkanim:
  9. speed of wasin a house

Downstream and you won't have to worry about the wind or wands. I like the Xjet's, had the first M5 ever made before Mike started selling them, but I don't use them for house washing. Way to much pressure for me.
  10. 12 years and 1000 hours? No wonder your engines last, your not working:). Mine avaerage about 1800 hours a year. I figure you can't go wrong if you stick to the suggestions of the manufacturers that research, build and sell the engines.
  11. Myrtle Beach....any new ideas

I personally don't ever plan on getting one. I might sell out before that:)
  12. Myrtle Beach....any new ideas

Ron, I have never seen a reclaim rig, don't know of any contractor in NC that has one. I would like to see one, as much as I dread ever having to use one.
  13. speed of wasin a house

Don't get me wrong, if their work sucks, don't emulate. If they do a good job at a lower price, they must have something figured out. It could be they just don't like making money though:)
  14. speed of wasin a house

Gutterdog, stick to your pricing and don't try to match lowballers to get work. On the otherhand, don't get upset if someone charges a lower price than you. If someone can do a quality job at a cheaper price, don't knock them, see what they are doing that you are not. If you need to measure to give a price, it's ok for a few months, but you shouldn't use it after you get some experience. I have never heard of anyone, including myself, that has ever measured a house to give a price. If you have time in your schedule to go look at a house to give a price then you need to be working harder. Most of the contractors in my area price by the neighborhood, a few price by the square foot. Point is, you should be able to price over the phone. My last point probably won't go over well but, don't worry about the profession or industry. You are a small business owner, worry about you and what works for you.
  15. speed of wasin a house

? Didn't follow all of your posts. You need a minimum of 250' to be able to park on the street and reach around most houses. I don't understand about setting your washer once instead of 4 times, you mean your throttle or position?
  16. garden hose downstreaming?

Jeff, not knocking on your equipment, you work with what you got. That being said Equipment is not that expensive in the overall picture. If you already have a trailer you can have an 8 gpm set up for less than 5K. 6 gpm should be a minimum for residential. Charge the same price you did for that 6 hour house wash but be done in 2 hours. Rinse the plants and siding with a good flow, not garden hose pressure. No need for extension wands. And no pressure. Don't equate pressure washers with high pressure for house washing. I flow about 80psi. A garden hose is about 45psi. You would not believe the number of people that rinse with an XJet and think they are low pressure washing. Again, not knocking, just trying to show you the potential to work faster. If you were in my area I would ride buy and snicker and never offer any advice, for you would surely be my competition then:) Dan, after a week on *** my eyes don't bug out any more. Quit trying to set your unloaders with a pressure gauge and you might have better luck with your 2 machine set up.
  17. garden hose downstreaming?

What in the heck kinda of house are you washing that takes 6 hours. 16,000 sq foot apartment buildings only take about 2 hours. Why rinse with a garden hose that maybe puts out 5 gpm when you have a p/w. Ditto on why are you taking your machines off the trailer. Mine are bolted down and weigh about 600 lbs each. Much easier to ulnlock the hose reel and walk with the gun in your hand
  18. I'd downstream my housewash on it andf keep rolling. At most you would have 2 gallons of straight bleach, total. There is enough water in that pond to dillute it and not harm marine life I would think. If it is a pond then water then it can't flow into "US waters" anyway.
  19. Briggs and Kohler recommend full throttle. Most any mechaninc, including myself and my Landa dealer will state the same. Air cooled engines need full throttle to maintain their temp and fuel consumption. I found this link and can dig up some engine manuals if I can find them. Not sure about VW's. SmallEngines.ca Questions and Answers Page (FAQ's)
  20. Stay away from anything that lowers the throttle on an air cooled engine. They are only made to be run wide open and should be shut down in the wide open position.
  21. Thieves Suck

That is pretty sorry. I don't know much about the internet and what you can do, but I would drive through the night to meet him face to face.
  22. PW weird pressure problem

AR owners will become very profecient with changing oil seals. Cat and Comet owners own Home Depot machine. General owners don't know about copper connecting rods and U packs. Udor owners just keep working day in and day out with no problems.:)
  23. PW weird pressure problem

I would buy 2 from Russ. One to replace now and one for as spare. If you have more than 4 or 5 machines you have you should keep a spare pump, especially if you run ar's or generals. You never know when you might need it.
  24. Lotsa overkill. I would put on a udor 7.9 gpm pump if it wasn't for the gear reduction. Lot of headaches there.
  25. Charlie, just flip those boards. If you ever see me with a sander anywhere near a deck you have my permission to whack me with a shovel:)
