marko Did Gutterdog type that for you? I have no idea what you meant.

Beth, I think he is referring to the cam lock connections for quick filling his tank, not working off of the hydrant continuosly. If you don't have a Agri Supply of Tractor Supply close by, Just ask them(who ever you are getting the meter from)to leave off the cam lock and get a 50' section of 3' fire hose with National Standard threads from them. Most will rent it to you for $5 or less.

That is where one of my brothers is stationed.

Scott, not saying my ways are not foolish, they are just my ways. I can be down right hard headed at times. I just don't want anything from the gov't that I am not ok with giving to them. I'll pay my fuel taxes to keep the roads paved, pay my taxes to keep a strong army, and I'll pay my SS because I am required to, I just don't want it back out of principle.
-
Larry, I feel for your situation, but you are not taking the gov't's money. The gov't has no money. It has my money, and yours. I have cancelled cable, lived on canned food and deer meat, cut out all non-essientals in the past when one business endeavor dried up and I had to try something new. There is always a way. I am sure a low paying job at Walmart would bring in the same amount as unemployment. I am not in your shoes and you are to nice of a guy for me to unload my own thoughts on. Dan, you are fair game though. Good luck to you Larry and I hope all works out for you.

I thought you washed houses.

Not a penny of it.

39 weeks. I swear I could have had a job doing something in one hour. Just because you are forced to pay unemployment or SS doesn't mean you should take it. You have to do what is right sometimes even if it is inconvenient or hard. I will refuse to cash my SS checks just like my Dad does. People that don't workor contribute to society are like orange peels, disposable. Life is harsh. Read Seawolf. The captain's view on life should be shared by all.

And better yet, what is wrong with that. Next you will be thinking that welfare and gov't insurance are good things. Larry is a hard worker and is making plans with his business to offset the loss of his wife's job. That is what everyone should do. If you can't make it own your own, rollover in the bushes somewhere and let those that can prosper. I would hate to think that anyone on this board would ever stoop so low or belittle himself by using unemployment.

I'm just gonna go work everyday and make money.

My number is below. Call me if you want help on what chems or equipment you need. -
My guys washed today. I was feeling lazy and had a few hours left putting an engine in a truck. I have a ton of gutters to do and they don't blow out very well when it is still freezing.

You stated that you were looking at buying a pressure tek machine and surface cleaner and that you already do windows and have a commercial cleaning business. That does not look like someone who is a do it yourselfer looking to was his own home. 12.5 sodioum hypoclorite and barlox. In my area you should be able to get your driveway done for about $95 and your house for $150. That's a lot better than $500. Remember, you get more flies with honey and less cussing. -

If you want different advice, follow the rules of the board. Fill out your signature so people know who you are. Don't expect people to just hand over info they have worked hard to obtain to someone who claims they are going to spend thousands of dollars in equipment just to clean his own house and his friends. There are answers to all of your questions on this board if you take a few minutes to search for them. My "useable" info would serve you well if you follow it. -

Easiest way for you would be to call a professional. That will cut your wash time down to about 2 minutes on the phone. -
Yes, with less verbosity. I wish it was a little warmer so I could go to work instead of sitting here. Rather addictive at times.

We are who we are.

So, if I follow this correctly, all of this mess is John's fault. Quick everyone, let's all go to John's house and walk in his grass and put fingerprints on his rearview mirror.:D

Isn't there a place for vendors to hawk there wares other than here.

Power Washer Comparrison Chart

13 horse honda is the best small engine made. After that they are junk. A 20hp Honda has the same displacement as a 16 hp Briggs or Kohler. That means it is screaming to make 20 hp with no reserve left. Check out the rings on a 2 year old honda. AR and comet need no explanation as all know they are garbage. Generals do not have bronze connecting rods, upacks, and are generally rebuilt every year to two years. I have Udors that run 50 hours a week that are 5 and 6 years old that have never been opened. Buy the best you can afford, whatever it is. For me, It is Kohlers and Udors. I don't have time for equipment failure. -

All the big names use the same engines and pumps for the most part. They just bolt them on their own skids and put their stickers on them. Stay away from Hondas, comets, AR, and generals. Decide what you want and buy the unit that is best for you. If you have a good pressurewash shop near you have them build you what you want or make your own. My Landa dealer sells way more custom units than Landa units. Kohlers and Udors and make you some money. -
Making a single gun head into a double gun head
offduty replied to mlaurenza's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
To be productive you would need at least a 14 to 16 gpm pump to even start thinking about running two guns. It has been discussed here and at PT so I am sure a search will give you the technical info you need. -
Guy around here has one but doesn't use it much. Lot of headache moving it around and dumping it out. He paid 3500 for his.
