A house I did yesterday, in an email back to him, I suggested the curb apeal. He is selling the house. Everything came out perfect except the back gutter still needs just a little bit more attention (a scrub). and I sugested washing his sidewalk and drive way also. Currently my wash includes 2 hits on the gutters and downspouts.

Job I did today. Retired fellow.Nice guy from another country. He couldnt afford everything I wanted to sell him. So did the siding on 2 sides, the worst, and the brick on the ground 2 sides. His deck is covered in mold. I hit everything with almost straight mold killer. The brick on the ground was 100%, Dweled the heck out of it! well here the pics... only way I know as of now to post them. We are getting the deck next and I hope the rest of his house. I really feel sorry for him. He is a real nice guy from poland. His family was separated after WW2. He has to save some more money up. Wish I could do it for free. One day I could here and there.... well here the pics

gutterdog replied to gutterdog's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The thing is Rick yall big guys act like you dont have hard times. That pisses me ooff lyin like that. I have them too. Pretending to be something you aint... Its not honest... Its a lie. a lie from the person that said it. A lie expecting smaller new companies to expect more. and they fold in the first year. Believing al the lies they get told. lies I got told in my 5th year, lol! Still vunerable. A new company has more harder times than good times. Then they make the decision to cut corners or not, and move forward. That is a determining decision. There is so much more. I'm ending here. -

What is the most effective way to get jobs?
gutterdog replied to mdspowerwashing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I did that too. Rocked in a complex where everyone was hit when assciation had to get wood cleaned! I got maybe half the jobs in over 300 townhouses! I left the signs there. I had close to heck I dunno 100 signs out same time? All in the same neighborhood. Needing the same work! Otherwise I havent had any luck with signs. Wasted alot of money. BUT!!! I got this new idea while my truck is onsite!!! -
Reckon I'm gonna do a guinee pig if noone has done one?

Who uses the "Ladder Saver"
gutterdog replied to Little Buddy's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Windows, gutters, downspouts the whole house included. If using a ladder and yellow tip you can do serious damage to the screens. I washed houses that way for years till this new low pressure stuff, Well new to me... With the x-jet (havent downstreamed yet) you cant hurt the screens. Using common sense. Dont point the xjet or ladder saver at the screen and pull the trigger though. Then it could damage the screen i think? Pressure seems to be higher when you first pull the trigger. And of course dont get too close to the screen. Noone taught me anything. Just the words get an xjet. This is from my experience. There are guys that say they can wash a 3 story house with an xjet in an hour. Ive made many changes in chems. The only way they do it is they hit everything 1 time collect and go. I stay with the house till I'm happy with how clean it is. sometimes thats hitting the rakes twice or the gutters more than twice. sold 2 houses today and one i sold a week ago washing tomorow. Trying something new. Sodium hydroxide on the gutters if doesnt come clean after 2 hits with house wash. Once I get a reputation like these other guys for being a "premium" house washer my price will go up with the justification that I stay with your property till I'm happy! -

gutterdog replied to gutterdog's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I'm going to get another pump. Doing alot of reasearch on this. I'm going to get a pump that is a little lower on psi and higher on gpm. I got the catalog from envirospec yesterday!!! They also have the kit for getting the chems up on the roof too! I like this catalog! If you dont have it get it! www.envirospec.com -

How much did it cost you to start?
gutterdog replied to Little Buddy's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Organization. yes! I did my website myself. Over time it is where it is now. All that money you spendin you could save by figuring it out and doin it your self. Do this! I'm fixing to dump them. Check out www.gutterdogs.net I think. That a paid proffesional thing. My stuff is better. Why because I care. No company is going to care 'cause it aint them. Their keywords suck everything! And they know what they doing enough to charge me? Everyone got their websites built by someone else. Advertising? guess how much I spend now? Nuthing! Really!!! I'm doing better now than before. You sound like you got it all figured out. best of luck to you! -

You are way better organized than I was starting out. If it was that easy everybody be washing houses! Best of luck to you. Youre not gonna make a million you first second or third year. There are so many things that come into play. So many things! AND a whole lotta LUCK! See what works and stay with that. DROP what doesnt ASAP. -
How much did it cost you to start?
gutterdog replied to Little Buddy's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I kept a full time job and put some home made signs out. The signs were as professional as I could make them. Just gutter cleaning. It was just my truck and my dads 24 foot ladder. Did a gutter cleaning for a customer whose father passed away. Got a 40 ft, 32, and another 24 and some cheap a frames. In trade for the gutter cleaning. Just before that I found a ladder rack for $50. I mean just before that! Kinda makes you wonder? Well at the time gutter cleaning was very seasonal(it aint now) I had to offer other services. Lawn care and pressure washing I added. Went full time, worked my butt off. Dropped lawn service. (anyone wanna buy some law service stuff?) Got rid of the 2- 2550 psi 2.5 gpm's. Bought a 4gpm. 4,000 psi. Went with that and this year learned a whole new way!!!! I'm selling more house washings versus gutter anything now. Today i made $475 on a gutter job and sold her on a house wash in a week or 2! I'm booked for the next 4 days, sat and sun working too. Let me tell everyone that takes the time to read this... THANK YOU GRIME SCENE. THANK YOU HENRY, THANK YOU TO EVERY WASHER THAT TOOK THE TIME TO CALL ME ON THE PHONE, THAT TOOK A PERSONAL INTEREST IN ME. Thanks for makin me do some work and not just answer my questions. Best of luck to everyone in here! (I did raise my prices too, they back where they used to be! Prices are fair to me and the customer again.) Everything worthwhile is a strugle. Came back to say this. I think Gutterdogs has an advantage over many washers around here. Even the ones that use the same chems. We aint scared of heights! Setin a 40 foot ladder we do all the time!!! -

Switching From X-Jet M5 To Downstreaming
gutterdog replied to rick77's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have a general pump. and its breaking down. water gets into the oil now. How easy is that to fix. It was suggested to just buy another pump. The pump is breaking down because I used to up stream chems till this year. There are advantages to up streaming as downstreaming. How easy is it to repair my pump versus buying another one? -
Hey man! Good luck! Thats a good gig!!

Switching From X-Jet M5 To Downstreaming
gutterdog replied to rick77's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Hey Rick! There is something I'm missing here. How do you get the liquid up so far without a ladder or the xjet? Using the downstreamer? I got the same 4gpm, 4000psi gig. Seen somewhere... I think... ??? A gun thing? Forgot the name. Used with the downstreamer. I dont know what its used for but I assumme the " gun" name must get the height? -

Just did the math from receipt today. $2.75 a gallon. 13.75 a 5 gal bucket plus tax. Ahhh I was close, lol Tell me how... How I use less chems???? (came back to ask that) -
Switching From X-Jet M5 To Downstreaming
gutterdog replied to rick77's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Good luck with the downstreamer. I bought one too but still stuck on the xjet. Let me know how it goes! I know chems have to be stronger. I could probably figure that out. I've shared ideas with Bobby on the phone too. He is good people. -
