Just got home! Long day and not that much money... 1. They were riddles to you 4-5 years ago. I have been in the old threads quite a bit. 2. She read it after I fixed the majority of my bad grammer. If she would have read it before she would have failed me!!! lol!!! 3. Wouldnt you like to know? Had a thought today. Back in 2004. back when we were getting 450 500 a house wash, Yea I was too, but doin it the wrong way off of a ladder. Back in 2004. When some homes I was getting, for gutter cleaning, as much as 140- 160 a gutter clean(bigger homes). Houses started at 100. Back in 2004. This forum shared alot more than they do today! People were friendlier to one another. Now we are in a recession. Having your roof, gutters, house washed, or Deck cleaned etc. This is not a necessity. Plumbers are!!! LOL!!! Well feeding your family and paying your mortgage is more important. Times are tough. Prices to get work have gone down, what I'm seeing. Companies like me are expanding what they do. Offering more services... Trying to do it faster to compete with the lowballers. Change the subject real quick then we get back. "Lowballers" Yea I read the thread! A lowballer isnt a bad thing. Unless he under cut you! Then he is a mo fo. (Ive seen others use that, so that i assume it is accepted here.) If the lowballer cuts corners in quality then that is bad. Cutting corners in quality to justify the lower price, He nets 100 bucks a day. I read the term "beer money", in the old threads. I totally agree. Someone the consumer needs to stay away from. Never the less! He is out there. OK. Now a lowballer in a good way. There is a franchise that subs out all their work. $219 house washes. Seems to be very succesfull. Still takes me 2 and half hours to wash a house, sometimes more, those freakin gutters! gutters included. I'm matching his price, but I take longer, and include the gutters, with butal till I'm happy. Maybe I have higher quality at the same price? Gutters? A company south of me DOESNT include the gutters. Thats an upsell he said. WOW! Can you do that? Wel the lowballin co that must be knockin out 8 houses a day at $219, per subcontractor. Seems to be very succesfull. That is the future. Like it or not. WE are in 2009 now and a recession comparing to the great depression I read somewhere. Record # of people out of work. Circuit city went out of business! GM cuttin more lines... This forum has changed also.

Hey Dan....shhhhhh.....I heard customers read these threads....shhhh...You are too expensive.....shhhhh I think you are raping your customers with your pricing, and I dont even know what it is??? "Logic for raising pricing" lil buzzed are we??? (I feel I can say that because it was said to me in here) Went to look at your website. Like the cartoon character. Looking like a hippie! Back in the way early threads you were looked down on because you were a painter by the washers in here. You, on your website, push everything else but painting? Look I'm going to take up for myself. Lets stop this. Dont say I started it! Because I didnt. You guys bashed and knocked me around. Asking the same questions you were asking. Remember customers read this!!! Some of you come off being very arrogant, and high priced. Price doesnt always mean quality. The customers around here are very educated and street smart at the same time. Keep your pricing the way it is and you will soon find yourself where you dont want to be. Best of luck to you and everyone else. Today I'm trying something different on my guinee pig. see if it is faster, at the same quality as the back, that took too long, I think. I saved thousands doing the website myself. Figuring out SEO. and more. You guys pay someone else. The company that did your site is right there at the bottom. I think I'm ahead of you with that. I'll be up with you by the end of the day with washing roofs, or atleast very close. Oh and also. You have run on sentences. You should capitalize the begining of your sentences. NOT separate sentences with a "-" Just put a "." at the end and I could go on about the way YOU write.

As far as the spelling on the website... A few days ago I had a friend that is a 12th grade english teacher read it. She said it reads fine? If you didnt know this here a lil tidbit for you. The spiders that crawl your page... The simplier easier to read understand your page the better. Spelling is importand and I fixed that. One I left alone on purpose because that page comes up somewhere 1st on the first page in google yahoo and msn. So I guess spelling isnt that important??? I dunno I havent really looked at anyones site yet. All yall looked at mine though? I have asked the same questions many of you asked back in '04 etc.

How do you wash the roof with out cleaning the gutter anyway? I lost a roof wash because the guy that sold her a new driveway, washed her roof for free. FREE sells my friend. Just how it is....

Wow! read this thread. Begining to end. LOL! Wow! Majority of you guys way too expensive. Of corse this is cleaning out by hand. Do you use a garden hose also? If I spend more that 10 - 15 min doin a gutter clean, (that includes; settin the ladder, cleanin the gutters and downspouts, taking care of the debri and getting paid.) Then 'm doing something wrong. I get the downspouts 100% clean I hava an awesome SOP for gutter cleaning. Its rare. Sometimes for no upcharge. I'll take the downspout apart to clean it. Noone equals my quality with price. What is taking down a downspout and taking it apart, where from experience, I know where the clog is? 7 - 8 min tops! Thats takin it down cleanin it and putin it back up!

What I'm understanding in here is sodium hydroxide was suggested to break up the asphault on the concrete (diff thread). Shingles and asphault are oil based? (or somewhat made of the same materials) I dont want to dissolve the shingle. Not disagreeing with you Rick. Not one bit. Sodium hydrochloride kill mold and thats whats on the roof. Suggestions on older threads (as far back as '06) suggest tsp and sodium hydrochloride, if I remember right. In searches in google, keywords roof cleaning. One site said not to use tsp and bleach.:banghead: LOL!!! hehehe!!! I read a thread I cant find, The contractor said something like "if the customer seen how easy it was to clean the roof..." Think he used a water hose to rinse too? THATS WHAT I WANT! lol

Have a question. I did some further searches also after the link you gave me. Thanx! Found out about Roof cleaner QSE. It said that chlorine and tsp were bad and their product better and I can use the x-jet to apply! I love love love the x-jet! You can also apply from the gutter line also! I like that also! I understand every chemical co. says they better than everyone else, lol! In this forum and what i've read in older threads chlorine and tsp? Just went out to shed. It seems I have to learn all these chemical names and I'm starting to pick them up!!! What Im using now is sodium Hydroxide to clean roofs. sodium hydroxide, sodium hydrochloride? oxgen hydroxide? yada yada! All that sounded the same to me before. I prefered to just remember brand names instead of all the confusing chemical names. I'm starting to know the difference now! I'll Be able To impress the customer with my better understanding of the chemical names! What they do, dont do, damage they can do etc...AND get the higher dollar because of my improved knowledge! The customers trust in knowing I'll do a fantastic job! I'll also be a better shopper of chems. Because I'm going to read the ingredients! You guys might not think that you have helped much. With repeat customers I acctually lower the price a little bit over time as a way to thank them. I have been targeting the wrong market. There the ones that call? How do you target a upper class market? I know! Go through the threads, lol!!! I'll do that first. One thing I have done is gone through the threads on roof cleaning. Cant find out what tsp is? I'm thinking about changing chems on roof cleaning. Oh came back to add that after the rewording of my site... I think you guys might have been right. Based on the calls I got this weekend! Gave the prices I'm used to giving. I'm going to gradually raise them slowly till they start to turn away. Thats how I found my prices in gutter cleaning. tsp? Its mixed with chlorine. Clorine has drastically improved my house wash!! Found out it can be used on roofs also. Makes alot of sense too since chlorine kills mold. Thats what is on the roof! Tsp?

Hey Rod! Hope I havent pissed you and everyone else off too bad. going through the archives this morning. Search kinda sucks. Have to wait when there is nothing found to enter different keywords. I have a roof comming up. I've been using shingle shield.In the archives, Back in 2006 found some answers to a different way to wash roofs. Think I understand everything except tsp? I searched tsp and cant find any answers as to what it is. I've taken yours and everyones advice and gone through the old threads. Done search on tsp, nothing. This is what you have told me to do. Now I have. I was told to do homework in the old threads first then ask questions if answer wasnt found there. now I have. What is tsp. Please.

I'm slow to change... Change is scary. If I use some chemicals suggested to me by someone in here, that I dont even know... These are strong chems! There not cheap either. My insurance on the line! I spoke highly of this forum to a customer. told her I'd find the answer to her situation. Everything ends with alot of luck. Anyway took the advice I got a week ago about my website. Alot of mean things were said about my website. I believe I was called a hick with a pressure washer... and other "nice" things. Check the website out now!!! I did the website myself. I bought outdoor signs 2 seasons. 500 each time. Thats alot of money. plus the metal rods. It's a waste of money! My skils are marketing and sales when I got into this buisiness, 16 years. My first homemade signs were perfect! Took 1 hour to make each one. I remember my girlfriend complaining why I take so long to make each sign! I put my pgcc cap on and redid the website.
