Doug. A way to keep a customer from backing out is to get a small deposit. I get a third up front most times and tell them I cant get to ya for a week or 2, and I show them the contracts in front of theirs. I also tell them the reason we are booked so much is because our quality is the highest. Since we havent been advertising, Its been repeat business or WOM. (We are starting to advertise again and see what happens)!

It drops off in the middle of summer because homeowners are thinking school clothes for their kids I think. I noticed that last year.

I dont get this! You'll see after I post the pics. This customer requested a estimate for a house wash and deck wash. There seling the house. I can make their house look brand new. The white gutters are black from poor maintanance keeping them clean, blah blah blah! She said that if the 400 dollar guy doesnt get everything right she will call me. My wood buddie said blow it off. They will be more decks like this. How does someone think its possable to wash all this for 400 buck? ...... ...And have the house ready to showcase? lol! Dont let me forget! I need to call her tomorow, I want this deck! I'm thinkin tel her these are my prices, after he messes everything up, these still my prices. (do the repairs for freee) eat that! Set her expectations where they should be! Not this 99 dollar guy thats gonna rob her. I may not be beat yet. This has to happen very fast. Tomorow fast. SORRY! I dont know when the 99 guy getin there! I want this deck! You would too! I'm slammed with work. I WANT THIS DECK. lol!!! Any and all Ideas! Even funy stuff! Just hit me up, what would you do? Thought it should go here in DIY section 'cause my dad is asking (kinda). He wants to remove the paint from the cabinets in his kitchen. Wants to do the wood with a varnish or something. They are the original cabinets in his house that was built heck... 1940's. Somewhere round there. He had his sander out doing it the hard way and I asked him to let me get in here and ask you guys! There is so many layers of paint!! Of course a PW wont be used. If it was a deck I'd know what to tell him. Whats the best paint stripper that can be done indoors? With all the layers of paint? Since he wants the wood look back it cant harm the wood. I told him I rub elbows with the best in the business! And to put down the sander and let me see what I can find out. Please when I went over there and the dust n no face mask... My dad is old and stuborn. Im prob going to do the work. Can anyone help me out? I'm looking for a one time application of stripper. And uhh however you take it off.

I used to paint too. Sice you takin them down to paint. They look like the ones you can paint real quick if you flip them upside down. The runs if any go up not down!

When I add a new service I do the first few for free. You might have to do some at cost or call a relative or 2. When I switched from sodium hypochloride to sodium hypochlorite for roofs I experimented with my roof and my parents before I went out there and got paid. The earlier post by me I think might have been in bad taste and I appologize. Was just trying to be funny!

Good thread to start Celeste! I use the health issues, curb appeal, how low pressure is safer to what is being washed, how it adds life to the shingles, How a small investment, if you selling, more than doubles what you can add to the price of you house, sell it quicker too! As far as health issues I tell them that what is on the outside of the home is soon going to be in the vents and ducts. the best way to stop or slow this is to keep the outside free of mold etc.

Ive been told a new guy gets fired for stuff like settin a ladder against a gutter. Well did you tell him not to first? Thats one I dont believe was a real account of how someone handled some one. I dont know what this means? Like some feed back on it. check your website out? scratch the www and the dot com stuf and google it. see whats being said about you? change your pasword.
